《System Tournament》9: Clara 3

After obtaining our classes, our life has been further changed. This time though, it’s a good and long-awaited change. We went from being constantly on edge and weak to a simili of a working tribe. Andrew Miller, the ex-soldier-turned-cook short man, and another woman started handling our food.
The food was hunted by a part of the soldiers and a middle-aged woman stripped the deer-like creatures they brought back. She apparently liked big-game hunting before all this and was granted the Skinning skill at the start.
The rest of us aren’t really useful, we just gather woods for the camp and try not to be under the soldier’s feet.
If it’s possible to find wood or even hunt deers, it’s because we started moving towards the forest in the north. We are still in the outskirts even after 5 days of walking during the day and camping at night. The forest is really much bigger than what it was before. The flora didn’t really change much but the fauna did.
If I don’t straight up call the creatures we have been eating during all this time deers, it’s because instead of normal antlers, they got metal, sharp ones. Just enough for Paul to take interest in them and use them as his “swords”.
It’s nothing much, but it’s still better than the previous pole he used. He told us they were called Antals and they’re all level one and give only Beast Aspect going by their kill notifications. However, he told us the Beast part came under the Form entry and not the Aspect one.
Paul has been hunting with the other soldiers, but Jeremy was always with us, telling us as a Brawler he couldn’t really fight animals well.
And me? I’m just here, writing in my diary like now. At first, I planned on writing just to calm down and think back on what happened, using the book as it was intended. But in the end, I started writing lyrics as they came, witnessing other’s achievements.

I’m in no way an expert in music, but I dabbled a bit in there, and even wrote some notes here and there. And this enterprise bore fruit:
Congratulations! Due to special actions, you have been awarded the Musical Creation (Uncommon) Lv1 skill.
It went up to level 8 and my Idol’s Charisma skill reached 16, letting me finish my Trainee Idol path. This made a new message appears before my eyes:
Congratulations! Your Idol’s Charisma path is giving you +5 Control, +2 Intelligence. You now get +2 Control per level.
And after this sweet message, I got a new skill:
Congratulations! Due to special actions, you have been awarded the Magical Singing (Rare) Lv1 skill.
When I saw the name, I directly thought I might be able to now use my voice to attack or maybe at least help the others, so I directly checked its effect.
Magical Singing: You now sing more accurately. Your singing can charm people.
Not exactly what I expected, but the charming effect might be able to help me in a pinch. Maybe it can even charm monsters, making them stop in their tracks. I could also use it to make people protect me.
Now, thanks to all that, I might be able to actually sing one of the songs I wrote inside this tiny book…
Steeling my resolve, I march towards the campfire, take a small twig and look around me. Captain Hertz, Jeremy and Paul are also there, talking about whatever plan they have for coming into this forest and continuing further. The rest of the group is a bit further away, but not too far away for them not to hear me. I start tapping the twig on the ground in rhythm with the first song I wrote and just finished some minutes earlier.

“Save me, before I break; Crippled by anxiety, lost in my survival; Save me before I fall; Save me from this outbreak.” I start singing a sad tune.
Jeremy and the rest stop talking and turn towards me. Paul nods and Captain Hertz smiles nostalgically upon hearing some of the lyrics, based on him and how he saved me.
The soldiers start humming a bit my song, the civilians tap their feets on rhythm, and the rest of the evening around the campfire went by with singing, humming, tapping feet and some quiet conversations.
It was the first time we passed such an agreeable evening, even with the sad and tragic side most of my songs carried. And the System wasn’t fazed by such endeavors and continued doing its job.
Congratulations! Your Magical Singing skill is now Lv2.

Congratulations! Your Magical SInging skill is now Lv6.
Congratulations! Your Idol’s Charisma skill is now Lv18.
…
The next day, early in the morning, we departed yet again, but now rid off of a tenseness and gloom we didn’t quite notice before. This night was really beneficial to all of us.
Our destination was still further north, the group of first second levels being the same as the one talking next to the campfire yesterday, talked about checking on the Social Studies Campus. They hope the change wasn’t too catastrophic over there, but I doubt so, seeing what happened to our town.
Since nothing much happens in this godforsaken forest, I decide checking on my available paths

Overseer
From the nothingness I appeared. Bodiless, voiceless, ageless, I have only thoughts and emotions to guide me. My one connection to the world lies in the hearts of a small colony of lizards, just on the cusp of maturing. I reach out to them without hands, inspiring them to be more than what they are, shaping their bodies from visions of lost memories. But where do the memories come from? I am always left with more questions than answers. In my lonely shapeless existence the lizards cannot hear my words, and they cannot feel my touch, and I must wonder, do I even really exist? --- Called emotional, abstract, and beautiful by readers, this story is an observational account of a disembodied entity that has the power to influence and change a race of mildly intelligent lizard creatures. Memories of a previous life often serve as inspiration, but also generate questions as to whom the entity might have been before it became an Overseer. (presented in short chapters) (Thank you readers for getting my story into the top 5 ;u; ~

Secret Worlds
He was no stranger to strife and the difficulties of life. Living life as an orphan while attending one of the world’s most affluent schools for the rich, tends to make his 17-year-old life pretty cumbersome. Still, the school gave him what he wanted- a higher education and if that meant he needed to be “the charity case”. Then so be it. Klaus Alexandros Roth, having just graduated top of his class, felt like everything was finally falling into place; He had exciting plans for the future and he was looking forward to this new chapter in his life, however, being abducted shortly after graduation and thrown into a world of cloak and dagger politics due to his bloodline was by no means part of the plan. Join his adventure as he travels to different worlds, discovers his roots, and maybe makes a few friends along the way. Synopsis Edited by Danetello. Please check out his work when you click on the link. (His Name) This is my first attempt at writing and showing it to others. If i make mistakes please show lenience sempai! NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.

Innocence: Exiled Prince
Victor Lawson; a son of a King. Quite a scandalous King, but over the years, he had proved his own worth to the people that he ruled not with force but with words. Yet, this story isn’t about The King. It’s about his son; a Prince in a frozen land, a noble-born with a pedigree as clear as the driven snow. The boy had everything; wealth, title, inheritance to the whole kingdom. Everything that could make his life of lavish luxury and comfort. Or at least it was promised to him, a promise he believed because he is the only heir to his father’s crown. Such abundance came with its own problems and restrictions. To him at least, it made daily life drowned out by the mundane and the inane obedience of others. Yet a few people make to his life, temporarily filling that void. Hope was something he had; If only he could break this mundane loop he called life. A harmless wish of youth, he believed at first. Or so he wanted to believe until he met a...
