"Mom! Stop!"

Another scream reached her ears. In the next second, her long blonde hair was harshly pulled - causing her to fall off in her seat.

"You bitch!! I should've killed you the first time you stepped your foot in this house!"

Blare - who wasn't able to fight back because of Lilith's dilemma - woke up at Matilda's slip of the tongue. She gripped on her hair and tried to let it out in Matilda's grasp. Her scalp was starting to throb in pain because of the continuous pull.

"Let go!" Blare yelled.

A crisped slapped echoed in the hall. Then her hair was unexpectedly free from the woman's clutch. Before she can stand up, a wrinkled hand supported her. Even if she already knew who the person was, she still glimpsed at him.

Lilith's father neither looks serious or stern as he usually was. Instead, he stared at her with a sad and apologetic look. As she stood up, she tried to fix her hair but gave up since some strands became tangled. Her simple blue dress was already wet with red wine. Luckily, the broken glasses did not injure her.

As she was busy with herself, she failed to notice Harry's conflicted emotion, Harold's worried gaze, and Matilda's dumbfounded face.

"Ha-Harold... you...you slapped me...?"

Matilda's tone of disbelief made Blare turned her attention to them.

Her anger rose up again when she looked over her stepdaughter. "It's because of you!!!"

She strode towards Blare and extended both of her arms to grab her hair once more. Before she could do so, Harold shielded his daughter while Harry hugged her mother's waist to stop her from harming Blare. Harry is already a man and far exceeded his mother's height, thus, he was able to hold his mother as she struggled like a madwoman.

"If you didn't mention going back to your mother!" Matilda took consecutive breaths and continued, "Harold would never leave me!!"

After that, the woman stopped struggling. Her son slowly let her go and then she abruptly sat on the floor - like her legs just lost its bones. With her head bowed low, she covered her face with both hands. A wail of cry sounded in the large hall.

"Bring your mother to her room." Harold's suppressed irritation made Harry jumped.

Like a trained soldier, he responded, "Yes, father."

Harold shifted his attention to his wretched daughter and gently said, "Change your clothes, Amy will guide you."

A maid shows up and was ready to guide Blare.

"I'm fine, Dad. You should talk to your wife to avoid misunderstandings."

Her casual remark made both men stunned.

"Goodbye, thanks for inviting me" She took a glance at Harry as she thanked him.

Blare softly smiles at Harold. "Bye Dad"

She gracefully walked out of the large reception hall as if her hair wasn't in a mess and her blue dress wasn't wet with red wine. Blare did not care for her appearance at the moment. The most important thing for her was to get away to avoid irritating Matilda.

'That woman is going mad.' She anxiously thought.

Blare would always consider all possibilities - especially the most dangerous possibilities that can endanger her life. Matilda's current condition scares her because if the woman was vengeful and insane enough - it may implicate her, Lilith, and Lilith's mother in the future. As the saying goes, "you can never be too careful"

As she reached the large door that she first entered, the same butler who led her in the hall was waiting for her at the same place.

"Miss..." He pitifully called.

She reassured him with a smile. "I'm fine, Al. Can you guide me where my car is?"

Al - the butler - shook his head. "You don't have to walk so far, Miss. Your car will arrive soon."

As if on cue, her blue car appeared and stopped right in front of Al.

"Thank you." She smiled softly to Al and to a young man who safely parked her car.

________________

The third day arrived without complications. Currently, she is getting ready for the interview to end the public's speculations as well as her connection with Aiken. It is also to redeem Lilith's reputation - something that Blare was aiming for.

Rhieanne stared at her and started fixing her appearance. Any small dirt that she sees will be wiped out with a clean cloth. She checked Blare's grey suit incase the fabric was unkempt or crease.

Lance only gave her a look that says "you're-worrying-too-much"

Rhieanne rolled her eyes at him and inspected Blare for the last time until she nodded in satisfaction.

"Are you really ready for the interview? You didn't even let me provide a script for them." Rhieanne sighed in distress.

Blare did not mind her and solely stared at the ring that was worn on her ring finger - on her left hand.

The two subordinates curiously looked at her infinity ring.

Finally, Lance could not hide his curiosity and asked, "You bought that?"

Blare smiled and covered the infinity ring with her right hand. She wasn't able to answer him because the online interview was starting.

Lance attention diverted. He started re-checking the pile of documents he brought. While Rhieanne did not think too much about her infinity ring. She watched Blare in the sidelines quietly - for fear that something might go wrong.

Ever since she learned that Blare might have offended someone, she didn't dare to relax. Rhieanne guarded Blare more and made sure everything was handled perfectly.

It didn't take long before the interview started. A poised woman - who wore a dark red lipstick - greeted Blare with respect.

"Ms. Lilith Winterburn, I'm Yrma Tabeau and I'll be asking you a few questions... Thank you for accepting our request."

Both shook each other hands and smiled at one other.

"Your channel is the most viewed in all part of the United Kingdom. Who would deny your invitation?" Blare questioned Yrma with a naive facade.

Yrma's smile stiffened at her words but quickly replaces it with a giggle. Their channel or media outlet is popular for exposing a lot of minor celebrities and other small companies by revealing their dirt and terrible side. However, they never offended celebrities with a strong backer, a successful company that could destroy them, especially the government and the monarch. Even if Blare was aware of this, they didn't mind.

After all, Yrma and her team see Blare as a small businesswoman who hasn't made her name yet - that is why she was an easy target.

"This is an online broadcast, Ms. Lilith. I'm afraid you can't excuse yourself at any time," Yrma told her in a soothing voice.

Yrma is certainly a professional interviewer. Aside from her beauty - Yrma knows how to thrill the viewers through her questions and remarks. She is also famous and idolized by many people.

"I'll keep that in mind... Shall we start?" She asked and Ymir nodded.

The two women sat comfortably yet their posture was straight and noble. With soft smiles, the interview commenced in a warm atmosphere.

The online broadcast lasted for 15 minutes.

The last question made the interview end pathetically - simply because the other woman became speechless in fear.
