《Realm of Exaltia》[14] Power of Ghosts

The sight... was not of Herebia dying. It was someone else but Herebia could still not accept it. When Herebia was dreaming, the slash actually passed through her and slashed someone on her back. That specific someone died due to being halved.
‘Seriously?.. Aven... you actually... lied...’
The fall of the Four Bloodlines... were directly associated to Oliver. Although it may look like that the remnants of the Four Bloodlines is living together with Oliver in harmony... Herebia somehow realized something...
‘Damn it!.. Just... who the hell is this new War God?!’
Oliver was directly related to the fall of the Four Great Bloodlines.
She was musing with herself while staring at the sky when she heard a knock coming from her door. She flicked her hands disintegrating the [Chaos Bombs] and then approached the door. She rotated it and then the sight of Yassi appeared in front of her.
“Little Yassi, what is it?”
“Big sis, what happened yesterday? How come I could not see Faye cooking in the kitchen today?”
Herebia looked at Yassi and thought that this little brat didn’t really have respect for Faye. ‘Damn, if she were not talking to me who is the controller of her life, then she would’ve called Faye a bitch.’
“Faye? Already taken care of. She should’ve been tied up on one of the rooms.”
“Really?! Why didn’t you kill her yet?”
Ecstasy was evident on Yassi’s face as she entered the room with a skip and sat at Herebia’s bed while humming tune. The tune was actually kinda good and Herebia could here Yassi’s mumbling when she sang the song.
“Why didn’t I kill her yet? Hmm... Let’s just say that she is an important hostage and an info mine.”
“Ooh? Then, big sis, what’s your plan for today?”
Eyeing Yassi for a moment, Herebia then went to her room’s desk table and took out a bowl of nuts. She took a liking to them and considered to take more with her. She placed one in her mouth, which emitted a crunching sound when she chewed it.
“Hmm... I would accompany your father when he goes to the meeting and maybe explore the castle for a bit. Anyway, First things first, our lesson was previously delayed by Oliver”
Remembering the sight of the super human Oliver and how he plunged his sword down and create a powerful gale, Yassi quietly shivered. Sure she was afraid of Herebia, who could literally kill her with a flick of her hand, but Oliver meant something else to Yassi.
He was the embodiment of strength. His strength was not trained, most likely it came from his talent and Yassi feared people that were naturally more talented than her.
Yassi calmed down for a moment and then remembered Herebia’s instructions to her before. She summoned the smallest [Fire Ball] she could, which was around the size of a pinky’s nail. Like before, she tried to suck every type of particle towards the fire ball.
Earth, Fire, Water, and Wind. They were all pulled and entered the fireball which was now fluctuating. It was on the verge of collapse because of the abnormally un-proportional elemental particles that were inside her spell.
The spells that Practitioners unleash are normally only made up of only two elements, while one of them is the dominant one and the other one the recessive one. The purer the elemental particles that you absorb in your spell, which means the lesser recessive inside your spell, the more powerful your spell would be.
Yassi had no problem making an extremely powerful spell as she is blessed by eyes that could see elemental particles. Herebia also had eyes similar like this, and this was one of the requirements of being able to create chaos particles.
In reality, although every Practitioner could control particles, they could not control all four of them. Some say that being able to sense three of them is sh*tty talent and that was true. As for being able to sense all four of them? That would mean that you already have the qualifications to and could already see elemental particles with your eyes.
Although this was good talent, Herebia had to admit that at first the particles were pretty annoying and hard to get used to.
Anyway, now that the spell was going berserk, Yassi started to panic. She tried to separate them but, the particles were being held by each other and none of them wants to exit the spell. Herebia also approached closely while still holding her bowl of nuts.
“Control the particles and... make them collide like crazy!”
Just like instructed, Yassi made the particles collide and making her spell more chaotic. In the guise of this chaos though, she could feel a small part of harmony. Chaos is... just a type of messy and twisted harmony.
After saying that, Herebia turned around and then left the room. Before closing the door, she glanced back at the unstable spell of Yassi and then smirked.
“Blast that thing in the window or something. Do not touch my bed.”
“Wait, big sis!”
The fireball in Yassi’s hand slowly deformed and grew darker in color. But it was still not as black as Herebia’s and Yassi knew what this could mean. It would f*cking explode!
She hastily threw it out of the window and ran out of the room. Yassi followed Herebia’s direction and then glanced at her for a while before she started to hum her tune again. Not long after...
Boom!
Herebia and Yassi looked back and saw that smoke was being emitted from Herebia’s room. Although Herebia instructed Yassi not to touch her room, she was quite happy to see the power of Yassi’s fire ball.
‘If her spell hadn’t been that powerful, I wouldn’t keep teaching her. It seems like she is quite the good seed.’
“Hey Little Yassi, I was wondering about something. Why isn’t this house still wrecked?”
Actually, Herebia’s question was justifiable. The hole that Yassi’s [Fire Blast] had caused, the burns in the kitchen, and the explosion on Herebia room. With so much damage, why hasn’t the house collapsed yet?
And... who in the world will repair this things?
“Oh? The damages that is usually dealt by the aftermath of me and my father’s fight are usually repaired at noon. I was wondering why the hole I had made yesterday was still there...”
“The repair man’s daughter had her birthday. It was his day off. I think he will be back today.”
The two females had reached the dining room where greeting them was Ycarus. He sat on a chair, and was drinking coffee. Ycarus had overheard their conversation and naturally answered.
Growl! Growl! Growl!
“Damn, I’m so hungry. Ycarus, why didn’t you cook any breakfast?”
“Faye is locked up don’t you remember? She was the one who had cooked us food. I had a maid before but, maid’s are viewed with ire on this Kingdom and I had Faye...”
“Maid’s viewed with ire? What a weird bunch... Fine! I’ll cook!”
Yassi sat besides the seat that was toasted by Ycarus’s [Fire Pillar] yesterday while Ycarus himself had sat on a position where you could see the whole in the wall that was blasted open by Yassi’s [Fire Blast].
Moving sluggishly, Herebia placed nuts in her mouth in order to energize herself a little. She then began to cook. Yassi looked at her big sis and a big theory was slowly being created inside the brat’s mind.
‘Woah! Big sis cooking?! Doesn’t she look like... a wife? And big sis clearly took over Faye’s role! Isn’t this like those throne coup d’etat? Stealing the position of wife... how fearsome!’
And that is how Yassi came to realize a big misunderstanding that in the first place Herebia’s goal was to become her mother and her father’s wife. That’s some imagination you got there.
Herebia finished cooking and served it in a big plate. She looked sideways at Ycarus and Yassi and as she saw the expectation’s in their eyes, somehow a vein popped inside her.
“Damn, you daughter-father duo! You think I will serve you your food?! Go and get your plate on your own!”
‘Sigh, Big sis... you still have a long way to go in the road of being a wife...’
This were Yassi’s thoughts at the moment.
Ycarus stood up and looked at his daughter for a moment, and then inwardly sighed. He knew that his daughter was acting like the brat she is and wants him to fetch her utensils and plate. He obliged to his fate and fetched two plates and two sets of utensils which was for him and his daughter.
Chomp!
The three of them ate their fill and filled themselves up. Like yesterday evening, the daughter-father duo was still bickering bout each other’s food and Herebia didn’t give a single f*ck about it.
When they were full, Herebia had once again brought out her bowl of nuts and chewed on them. They were not peanuts and instead they were nuts a bit bigger than almond.
“Hey Ycarus, when is the meeting thing going to take place?”
“You mean the War Council Meeting? It will take place a hour later. I will be departing towards the castle after I bathed.”
“Is that so. Inform me when you go. I’ll go with you.”
“Oh, ok... wait what?!”
Herebia had already left the room when Ycarus realized what the woman was spouting. He looked at the direction of the hallway and could see the shadow of woman which immediately disappeared.
“Don’t sweat the details. Just call me when you’re gonna depart! I’ll be using the bathroom first then!”
When the words that had echoed in the hallway died down, the duo looked at each other and then looked at the table. They saw dirty unwashed plates and utensils. A spark came of their eyes and they realized that Herebia had ditched both of them and left them the uncleaned dishes.
“So who’s going to wash the dishes?”
This question was asked by both of them in an almost harmonic way. And so, this question yet again sparked a debate and started a fight which almost burned the unwashed dishes...
* * * * *
After finishing her bath, which was hot and steamy by the way, Herebia left the bathroom in the same outfit. It was an outfit made out of chaos particles. Why does Herebia favor clothes like this so much?
It was because of the versatility. She could change the design everyday and still won’t have a ton of laundry. Although she said this, if you actually look at it, Herebia is technically naked.
Well, a question to be asked. Remember the time when Yassi’s spell disintegrated due to excessive shock?
What would happen if Herebia herself was shocked?
Sigh. The spell would not disintegrate and Herebia won’t be naked. It was a shame but this phenomenon of having your heart shocked and getting your spell’s disintegrated is only applicable to attack spells. It means no scenes of Herebia naked in the middle of a fight.
Herebia had returned to the dining room, only to see it scorched to the brim. She looked into the direction of the kitchen and saw Yassi grumbling while washing the dishes.
‘What the hell hap- oh, I get it.’
Waiting in the table, Herebia started to spin her nuts like before. Not long after, Ycarus came to the dining room and saw that Herebia was already waiting for him.
“Hey Requa, I just had a question to ask you... What the hell did you teach my daughter?!”
“Hmm? What do you mean?”
“I mean that black magic of yours! That [Fire Ball] of hers almost toasted my hair! Or is that even a fire ball...”
Herebia stood up and then flicked her hand. Black chaos particles surrounded her and slowly turned into a black and elegant pouch. Like her dress, this was made of chaos particles. She then threw the whole bowl of nuts inside I and then placed it at the side of her hip.
The pouch attached itself into her dress and matched it perfectly. Yassi, who had finished washing the dishes, saw the phenomenon and nearly released a girly tear.
‘Big sis’s magic... It is absolutely the thing most girls dream of... even this deadly choker looks so elegant...’
“What was that?! Was that fashion magic?”
“I can't tell you. Stop asking and lead the way!”
“But... how will you enter the castle?”
Herebia, who was already near the dining room’s door stopped in place.
“I’ll use...”
Evictus! The power of ghosts!
Slowly, Herebia’s body blended with the background until even her shadow was not visible. This was the power of Evictus, the power of invisibility. Although someone might be able to sense her using eyes that could see elemental particles, they would need to look much more carefully in order to do that.
Yassi and Ycarus was surprised when they saw Herebia disappear. Although Ycarus could not sense anything, Yassi had the slight feeling that something was inside this room other than her and her father. The feeling was extremely faint and almost unnoticeable.
This power could not be acquired through any means other than through a God Item (Item’s created by gods) or through your own bloodline. This came from Herebia’s bloodline talent, which will not be revealed for now.
“Pretty neat right? Now I could follow you to the castle!”
Suddenly, a voice echoed out of the room and both Yassi and Ycarus identified the owner of the voice. Ycarus sighed and then walked out of the dining room.
“Hey sweetheart, stay home for now. If the repairman did arrive, please pay him fro me.”
“What!? Why should I?”
“Because most of them were wrecked by your spells anyway! Requa and I will be leaving now... I could already sense that a sh*t storm would come this following month so stay home!”
“Tch! You win this time old man!”
And so, Ycarus left the house while he himself could not see his companion. It must’ve felt extremely uncomfortable to know that someone was following you but you could not see anyone. It totally feels like a ghost was creeping behind him.
It seems like the name of this ability had a well deserved name.
* * * * *
“Woah, that’s some dope ass castle there! Built inside a ravine... and the ravine of dragons, no less!”
A voice echoed out behind Ycarus and he couldn’t help but shiver. The other people around who also heard the voice was fear stricken and looked for the source of the voice. They found nothing... which led to more fear in their hearts.
Ycarus, although already exposed to it for minutes now, he still couldn’t say that he wasn’t afraid of a voice coming out of nowhere. He knew that Requa was behind him but... goddamn it!
The duo (does ghost-chan Herebia count?) arrived at the entrance of the ravine and it was one hell of a sight. The ravine was surrounded by big walls towering 20 meters and then the castle which was built below the surface level had it’s tip around 50 meter high or so.
As it was built on a fissure of earth, the people who would want to enter the castle would need to descend down first as the first floor of this castle was around 15 meters below the normal surface. The air around the castle is also hot, as this ravine was once rumored to be a dragon’s nest.
Herebia could not comment on the speculation of a dragon’s nest but she was sure that the castle that she was seeing differed from what she remembered. That’s right, another castle was once built in here.
Herebia remembered it that there was no walls surrounding it and the castle was not that high. In actuality, the previous castle she knew that was positioned in this land was extremely deep.
The race that had once lived in this ravine was a bloodline that loved the fire and was good at taming dragons. Maybe this is where the rumor came from?
Anyways, the ones who once occupied this lands were the...
Drazians.
This ravine... was previously the home of the Drazians.
Ycarus started to walk down the metal drawbridge which was slanted downwards. This drawbridge was quite weird as it tilted down but it actually has a good advantage. Tilting down would make it much more easier to raise the bridge after all.
To avoid getting lost, Herebia pinched the Ycarus’s clothe. Ycarus felt that something was pulling his clothes and knew that it was Herebia. Acting like nothing was present, Ycarus proceeded forward as the both of them arrived at the gates of the castle.
When the Ignis guards saw that the one arriving was a general, they hurriedly saluted and raised the gates. Ycarus smiled at them and then bowed slightly.
“The War Council Meeting... did it start yet?”
“No, they still haven’t started yet General.”
“Good...”
Entering the castle, Ycarus’s silhouette slowly disappeared from the sight of the Ignis guards as a ghostly woman trailed behind him.

Tur Briste
A Druid cultivation novel. Borrows concepts from Wuxia and Xianxia but using Druid myth and lore. More on this at the bottom. Crow is son of Maddox, a Druid with an ancient bloodline and a people with a story spanning toward the beginning of time. Cursed, unfated, and a heap of bad luck have brought him only pain and suffering, but nothing will stop him. Nothing can stop him. A son of Maddox doesn’t bow his head. A son of Maddox understands that only a man with roots, with something to lose, will fight until the last drop of blood leaves his body. The Draoidh were once a proud people. They were both respected and hated for their form of righteousness. Power wasn’t something they gained through the might of their arms, but through intelligence. Their fall was all the more disheartening for the weaker cultivators. The tens of thousands of years that followed… chaos reigned. They forced Draoidh until most fled to the lower realms, nearly wiped out and exhausted. They went into hiding and became known as the Druids of the Oak. The Druid Order wasn’t the powerhouse it had been, and only nine of the major clans survived the calamity. Their bloodline weakened, as well as their prestige. Even the remaining clans fought amongst each other. Already on the decline and near extinguished, the Maddox clan can only struggle for survival, but their foundation wasn’t a joke. Weakened, but not weak. The other clans will understand this difference soon enough. Tur Briste, the Shattered Tower, awaits Crow’s ascension. Reaching the upper realms is only the first step in reestablishing the Draoidh. The Druids of the Oak remembered every betrayal and grievance, and they’ll return to power and reclaim what once belonged to them. The upper realms may have forgotten, but the Druid Order has not. Please Note:1) This is harem story. There are only a few chapters with sex, and it’s not a focus of the story. I’ll only add graphic sex if I feel the story needs it, so not gratuitously. Either way, Crow has several women. This is in line with Druid/Celtic history, and harems/reverse harems were an accepted part of their culture. Further, they had open marriages, meaning the man or woman could end their marriage at any time. While it was still a patriarchy, women had almost equal power. They were a very progressive culture. 2) There is a period of a 30-50 chapters where Crow loses the ability to cultivate like a Druid so he adopts an eastern body cultivation method for a while. This is temporary, but some people feel it’s misleading, so I am pointing it out ahead of time. I promise, the Druid stuff comes back, and 90% of the lore/myths/creatures/gods are all related to Druid/Celt/Irish/Scottish history. 3) I use many original names, most of which are in Gaelic or Irish. In the story, I refer to this language as Ancient. I enjoy all kinds of folklore and myths, so I encourage you to google those original names as they arrive. I give some background on them at the end of the chapter in my author’s note. 4) I use Ogham runes a lot, these are like the Druid alphabet, and they based each rune on a sacred tree so they also have symbolism associated with them. Again, feel free to google that too. It’s pretty neat stuff. Quick Translations:Draoidh = DruidTur Briste = Shattered Tower or Broken Tower Release Schedule:As of Oct 1, 2021- 3 chapters released every Sunday (May have up to two bonus chapters)- Side character chapters… this might be bonus chapters I release through the week. So they won’t count toward the 3 chapters on Sunday.- Please understand I work full time, have two kids, and can’t spare as much time as I’d like toward my writing. Maybe in the future I can switch to doing this full time, but for now 3 chapters is a comfortable pace for me. Lastly… I very much appreciate all my readers and thank you for allowing me to entertain you!

Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have.
