Chapter 2
Part 2
The red car advanced at a great speed, flipping the skirts of the women walking alongside the road. Jack grinned at the sight, looking at young women with lustful eyes.
At that time, as I was just a little boy, I didn’t know about the charm of a woman. Thus, I could only answer with a fake smile each time Jack or Master made a bad sex joke. Seriously? I was eight years old and this guy already wanted to pervert me!
- Do you know why most of the women prefer using their first hole more than the second?
This Bastard, my “Master”, didn’t seem to feel any shame after asking such question to the younger self. I just looked at his face with a “What?” plastered on my face. Holes? I didn’t know what he was talking about; the only hole I had seen on a woman was the one made to wear earrings and piercings. What was he talking about?
- I see. After this mission I’ll teach you more about women. The next time you see a woman’s butt, you’ll understand the true path of a man. – He raised his eyebrows and observed me with his deep blue eyes. - Yes, I can see great potential for this in you.
During a pair of seconds, I kept a straight face and ignored his subsequent jokes. However, Jack continued to glance at every woman we passed across in our way to our destination.
Jack wasn’t the greatest pervert I would meet in my life, but he was among the top five of them!
- Well, it looks like our little trip has ended. – Jack pointed towards a narrow alley. - That’s the place where you will be living from now on. I’ll come back once I’ve secured the means to protect those children from the Empire.

I nodded and got out of the car. With a wave of his hand, Jack disappeared from my sight at an incredible speed.
Dirt and garbage could be seen everywhere around the street. Two-storey houses made of blocks was the only thing in sight, like a gray dead sea. Street vendors showed his wares to some customers and old women were gossiping. I looked at the narrow alley and smiled. At first glance it appeared to be an ordinary alley, but with a closer glance, you will notice how it was a clean alley. There weren’t garbage and dirt on the floor, nor old con artists and gossiping women.
- Well, it doesn’t look like a bad place. – I try to console myself as it was obvious there wasn’t food and beds to sleep. - You knew what you would have to do from the beginning. You cannot go back. – I clenched my fist and gritted my teeth. Only by accomplishing this kind of missions I would meet my sister again. - Just wait for me, Sis.
I walked into the alley, looking for signs of a trap. But to be honest, my brief training to detect traps and my almost non existent talent for that didn’t help me at all. I had just walked five steps into the alley when I felt a cold metal on my nape.
- Give us everything you have on you, brat! - Someone demanded with a girlish voice.

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’
