《ADEPTAVERSE》58 - Horned Man's Halo Arc: Post Destruction
Advertisement
It was the early hours of the morning a day after the attack on the Tower of Magik, the main building of the Oligarchy of Magik. Outside of the tower were a view dozen magikans, carrying bodies out of the blown open entrance of the tower and lying them on stretchers on the ground. There were many bodies, all of which mauled and injured in many ways. There were also a handful of magikans using what seemed to be telekinesis to lift debris off the ground, moving them to the side into neat piles.
"The last time this tower was destroyed in such a way was during the Supreme War around 60 years ago...but that was by the forces of the Inhuman Empire. Not terrorists." Spoke an Alter-Elf man with one eye and long and wide white hair; Steelspine. The old elf walked between the many bodies with his hands behind his back. Behind him on each side were two bodyguards in suits and shades, following him.
"More survived than died, yes?" Steelspine asked one of the men behind him as he looked down at a young dead magikan with a decapitated arm. "Yes sir. Not many were in the tower at the time of the attack, fortunately."
"Hm." Steelspine crouched down and examined the corpse of the magikan, touching the exposed flesh of the decapitated arm. The two men behind him keeping silent, only squinting faintly. "Hm. This wound was created by a claw of sorts. Completely sliced off in one swipe." He then looked up at the neck of the corpse, noticing three slashes across it. "Same with the neck."
"Sir!" A human woman ran out of the tower in a red shirt, stopping in front of Steelspine. "We have the CCTV footage, bastards tried corrupting it by physically destroying the servers under the tower but didn't find the backup servers."

Steelspine stood up and nodded. "Let's go." he, the two bodyguards, and the woman walked back into the tower. They soon reached a room via the elevator of the tower which was only accessible to those with certain access, having to enter a code in the elevator to even reach it. It was two floors below the ground, inside were backup servers of the Oligarchy of Magik's CCTV footage, student information, teacher information, and more important data. They soon reached a computer on the other side of the room with many MP4 files open.
"The cameras themselves are extremely durable so they couldn't destroy them thank the gods." The woman bowed slightly to Steelspine as he sat at the computer. "You three may leave."
The two men in suits and the woman left as Steelspine watched the MP4 files. He saw many things, the slaughtering of the innocent at the hands of Grimjak and his newfound allies. He took note of Grimjak, recognizing him as the man Hugo fought during the Eradication Tournament.
He soon watched the battle between Kruger and Hugo, taking note of how aggressive and full of hate it was. He then watched the encounter between Axel, Hugo, Altara, Konstantine, Jolene, and the woman in the black trenchcoat and visor cap Axel referred to as Trinita. He noticed the use of grappling hooks Axel and Trinita used to escape the top of the tower.
Steelspine sighed, closing the files and rubbing his face, keeping his hand over his mouth as he looked down slightly in thought. "Where did they go? Not just the terrorists..but Hugo and those guys?"
BAM!
The door to the backup server room swung open, one of Steelspine's bodyguards speaking loudly. "Sir! We have a report..a missing body from the Oligarchy Graveyard!"

Steelspine's eyes widened, quickly getting up and marching out the room. "Show me!"
...
In a mountainous forest far from the Tower of Magik was a topless figure sitting cross-legged on a rock, meditating with red steam coming from their muscular and minorly scarred body. It was Altara, his eyes locked forward in a furrow stare.
A face mask made out of red crystal slowly formed around Altara's mouth and cheeks as his body steamed more, his red crystal greatsword summoning next to him, leaning against him as it did. He then switched gravity underneath him, causing him to float up a few inches whilst staying cross-legged, remaining there as his greatsword floated next to him. He thought to himself as he trained his magik.
"Purple-haired mutant..I will come for you and take Kry's body back, killing you and your friends in the process. I will take the Centurion Braveye back from Kruger and take Wrathak back with my father's technique!..
..for that is my duty, that is who I am."
