《ADEPTAVERSE》48 - The New Genesis Arc: Nothing But Pigs

Grimjak and Axel were stood inside a long, dimly lit underground tunnel. It had rusted and unused train tracks running through it. A faint drop of water echoed throughout the tunnel. A ladder was to the right of the two, the top of which led to a manhole. It was obvious that is how they got into the tunnel.
"This is the place you said I should come to in order to find a merc. The Depths.." Axel said as he started to walk, his voice echoing. "..but that isn't what we're here for. I shall show you cruelty here, Grimjak."
The tunnel was lit by lanterns that were lined across the walls of the tunnel, some of them were flickering.
"So you're familiar with The Depths, Grimjak?"
"Yes~ It is where the criminals of Sapianus City lurk. Filled with serial killers, rapists, terrorists..and so on."
"Witnessed such horror first hand?"
"Not particularly. But I am aware it happens."
"Hm."
The two soon came to two tunnels at the end of the current one, left, or right.
They went left.
"Axel..I wanted to ask." Grimjak itched his cheek as he spoke.
"Hmmm?"
"How do you see with that black headband over both your eyes."
"Oho, simple! magik. I have a technique that allows me to see in black and white. I was born almost blind, you see. So I enhanced my eyesight by around 15 times the usual amount which allows me to see almost as much as a normal human. The headband is actually see-through. I wear it because my eyes are not very nice to behold."
"Why black and white and not colored?" Grimjak looked at Axel as he walked, who looked back.
"Because I see only magik in color. In other words, to me the only color I see is that of magik. Very useful in combat I assure you. I can see magik that isn't visible to the naked eye." Axel grinned as they walked.
"Huh. Interesting."
They soon saw two figures dash out from the darkness in front of them, Axel stood straight whilst Grimjak sharpened his crimson nails with his magik.
It was two rough-looking men in hoodies. One of them had one ear. Both of them were wielding machetes.
"Listen here, surface dwellers! You're gonna give us all you have otherwise you're gonna be left with your balls being fed to our dogs!"

"Huh. You two apart of a gang or something?" Axel asked, folding his arms.
"What is it to you? Cocky bastard!"
"Just curious."
Swish!
Slich! Slich!
To Grimjak, Axel blinked in front of the two bandits. The bandits then panicked and swung their machetes at Axel, who pointed both of his index and middle fingers at the men's weapons. The fingers themselves steamed purple.
The weapons suddenly stopped as soon as they touched Axel's fingers.
"Wh- My arm feels weak!"
Axel then reached inside of his trenchcoat and took out a curved silver dagger, slitting both of their throats with a spin.
The men fell to the floor with a slump, and Grimjak watched in confusion.
"They just..stopped? Their swing.."
"Heh," Axel cleaned the blade on one of their bodies. "one of my techniques! I can stop the momentum of something with a motion as small as a touch. That being said it has to be something as small as a melee weapon, but the momentum doesn't matter!"
"Such powerful magik..." Grimjak mumbled to himself.
"Come come!"
They continued walking.
After a few minutes of walking through the dimply lit tunnel, they both heard a horrifying screech of a woman.
"Come!" Axel started to run after the screech, Grimjak following shortly after with a sigh. "We're saving a woman now?!"
Axel then stopped running and put his arm out to Grimjak, signaling him to stop.
Ahead the woman screamed again, but this time it was closer, in fact, it was right in front of them. Out of the darkness a naked woman fell on her hands and knees, behind her a large bandit with an unkempt beard had a knife to her throat. He pulled her up by her hair and kept the knife to her windpipe. The woman was sobbing, looking at Grimjak in the eye whose eyes widened.
"Oho! We've got some visitors! Seems like these two dealt with Yurak and Jok! Oh well, useless bastards anyways! HAHAHAHA!" The bearded bandit looked at the naked woman in his grasp. "What about you? Are you sad about their death? Cus' I sure ain't!" The bandit laughed more as the woman sobbed.
"What exactly is going on here?!" Axel asked, frowning under his covered eyes.
"Those two pricks up ahead were apart of my group! Not that it matters anymore~ I captured this surface dweller last night! Me and her are gonna have so much fun~"

Axel grimaced as the man started to run away with the woman. The two gave chase.
They kept running and kept running, soon finding another split, left or right.
Axel frowned, running right. Grimjak ran left.
As Grimjak ran he noticed that the lanterns were getting more and more scarce along the walls, before being met with a dead end. But to his right he found a metal door in the side of the tunnel's stone wall, going through it.
He came across the woman, dead. Her body was completely mutilated. Her head was off her shoulders and stuffed between her legs which were spread open. The blood from her neck flooding down her body.
Grimjak saw this and seemed partially unfazed, only squinting..like he had seen such sights before.
What confused him more was the reason. Why like this?
Axel soon ran into the room, seeing the body. He sighed heavily.
"This..is the action of a pig..."
Grimjak felt a brief nostalgia...
10 years ago, on an undisclosed planet inside of a shack.
A young Grimjak lied against a wall on his bed with dead eyes. He was wearing a simple pair of shorts and a brown tunic. Clothes of a lower class. Outside a faint storm was heard, the rain hitting the roof of the shack. In front of him on the floor however were the bodies of two adults, one male and one female. Both had pools of blood underneath them.
"That drug still in the boy?! I don't wanna kill no kids, man!"
"He's fine! Just get to lootin'!"
Two men were looting the shack, in their hands were bloodied blades.
The 11 year old Grimjak couldn't move. In his neck was a hole created by a needle. He could do nothing but look at the bodies of his parents lying on the floor.
Both of the men, as well as Grimjak's parents, also had crimson teeth and eyes.
"We could chop them up and eat them. Would be a waste not to!" One of the men said.
"Fine! Fine...chop off their legs and let's get out of here. That drug should damage the kid's mind so he'll forget everything that happened!"
The men started cutting, but Grimjak felt his nerves coming back to him. His eyes slowly moved up to the two men hacking away at his dead parents.
He slowly grunted, lazily moving off the bed. The men quickly sprung up and looked at Grimjak, who looked up at the men with dead eyes.
"He's...moving dude! Did you inject the full needle?!"
"Shit!"
Grimjak looked at his parents.
"Now now little buddy..your parents are going to be okay. We're here to help you!" One of the men said with a shaky voice, putting a hand out to Grimjak. Grimjak looked at the man's other hand, it had a bloody blade held in it.
"Hahhh~"
Grimjak's body started to steam red, the men instantly backed away and started to shake in fear at the young boy. His teeth slowly sharpened, so much so that they hung out his mouth.
"M-MAGIK!?"
"WE'VE GOTTA G-"
"HYAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Grimjak ran at the men, jumping at one and biting into his throat and latching onto him as he ripped the chunk of flesh out with his sharpened teeth. The other man panicked and ran for the exit, but was met with a chunk of flesh being bitten out of his ankle. The man screamed and fell against the closed door, leaning against it and pointing his dagger at Grimjak with a shaking hand who had blood leaking from his mouth. His white hair was also stained red with his victim's blood.
"BACK! GET AWAY FROM ME!"
Grimjak slowly walked to the men, but as soon as he swung his dagger Grimjak caught the dagger in his mouth, shattering it. The man froze in place and before he could react received a bite to the throat, choking on his own blood as he fell to the floor. Grimjak stood back, slowly falling to his knees and staring at the two men.
...
He realized that he didn't kill them for revenge, but instead for lust. Lust for blood. Grimjak's deadpan face slowly formed into a smile.
He was grateful for this opportunity.
A monster was created.
...
Back to the present.
Grimjak stopped staring at the body, walking to Axel.
"I see what you mean now, Axel."
Axel looked up at Grimjak.
"Oh?"
"I simply needed a reminder. A memory I had blocked out due to a certain...trauma."
"Hm."
Axel smiled to himself, placing a hand on Grimjak's shoulder.
"Come, Grimjak. It is time for you to meet her."

Makemake
"Makemake—a planet that is found in the far edges of the system known as Sol—was once a metropolis, like all of the other planets that populate the system. Now, like all of the others, it lies as a Sleeping City, forever dormant. No one lives there anymore—it has been vacant for years. In one of the massive cities that used to have a population that was in high numbers a sound could be heard. A distant sound. A beep, or a call, a message—whatever it was, it was an electronic noise. It echoed through the dust cloud filled landscape. The sound went on for a long time. It sat in a sea of quiet; no other noise rolled over the hills and bounced off the ground—only that noise. Only that beep."
