"AND NOW FOR THE FOURTH MATCH!!! THE CONCLUSION OF THIS YEAR'S TOURNAMENT IS ALMOST HERE! THE WINNER OF THIS MATCH IS THE ONE WHO SHALL FIGHT IN THE FINAL AND THE ONE WHO WILL EITHER FALL OR LIVE ON AS THE VICTOR!!!!!!!!!"
The announcer yelled out over the speakers inside of Heartbleed Arena, the large audience roaring in response with excitement and adrenaline.
The gate on the right side of the arena opened and the white-haired menace Grimjak slowly walked out. The announcer yelling his name as his music played. He brushed a strand of his hair out of his face as he focused his red eyes onto the metal gate on the opposite side of the arena which soon enough slowly started to open with a loud creak.
"AND NOW FOR OUR OTHER FIGHTER WHO HAS A CHANCE AT VICTORY! A HOLY MAN WHO HAILS FROM THE CATHEDRAL OF HOMSTALA, STANDING AT 6'1 AT THE AGE OF 31!"

"SOLUDANTTTTTTTT RICHMANNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The audience yelled as a man in a white cassock robe walked out. He had short dirty blonde hair that was styled in a buzz cut. He was also wearing a pair of black boots and a pair of black leather gloves that had large white circles on the upper facing part of the gloves. His face seemed very calm, his bright green eyes gently looking upon his opponent, Grimjak.
"Good evening." Soludant greeted Grimjak who simply grinned before responding.
"A Saint? Heh. Aren't most of you guys pacifist?" Grimjak chuckled out.
"Most." Soludant simply responded, bowing to Grimjak.
"FIGHTERS AT THE READY....."
Grimjak extended both arms to his side whilst Soludant adjusted his gloves before crouching slightly.
"FIGHTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!"
And in a flash, the two clashed in a flash of both red and white magik alongside the dust on the floor. The dust swiftly settled and what was shown was an act of savagery. Grimjak had wrapped his crimson sharpened teeth around a tanto which was held by Soludant.

"In an act of defense, you wrapped your crimson jaw around my blade that was aimed at your throat. You truly are a beast to behold, Mister Zizah. Having magik such as that." Soludant spoke to Grimjak, who's sharpened teeth were latched onto the exquisite tanto in the Saint's hand.
BOOM!!!!!!!
Soludant sent a punch aimed at Grimjak's face which sent him flying back, taking the tanto with him in his mouth. Grimjak rolled and crouched, taking the tanto out of his mouth and coughing up some blood. He then touched his left cheek.
"You broke my cheekbone..such a powerful punch for a man of the Gods. Nice one~" Grimjak grunted slightly as he stood up straight. "Slight concussion too."
"It was no simple punch, Mister Zizah."
Soludant extended his right fist to his side, it was steaming with white magik.
"Augmentation Magik. One of the many types of Lethal Magik. It is the act of enhancing one of my body parts by adding a layer of material over the bone belonging to the part. I wrapped the bone of my hand with steel half a second before landing my punch."
Grimjak grinned as he stood straight, his left eye bleeding slightly from the punch to his cheekbone. "Such offensive magik for a Saint. But whatever~"
He started to sprint at Soludant, throwing the tanto at him once he was close enough. Soludant punched the tanto away but before he could regain his posture he received a slash across his cheek by Grimjak. He turned and saw Grimjak circling around to launch another attack. He was bleeding heavily from his cheek.
Grimjak noticed Soludant's hand was bleeding since he punched the tanto. "Of course. The bone itself is the only thing that is augmented. Perfect!"
Soludant extended his bleeding hand across his cheek. A white glow shined as the wounds on the cheek swiftly started to reverse. "No time to heal the cut on my hand! He's closing in!"

SLASH SLASH SLASH!
Grimjak slashed at Soldant's left side three times as he ran by narrowly avoiding a punch from him. Soludant grunting heavily and crouched on one knee facing Grimjak who stood a few dozen meters away before circling again.
"He isn't slowing down!" Soludant panicked to himself as he healed his side.
"Your bones might be augmented but your nerves arent! EVERY ATTACK I MAKE TOWARDS YOU IS FILLED WITH PAIN! PAIN IS WHAT WILL DESTROY YOU, MAN OF GOD!" Grimjak yelled out as he ran at Soludant who quickly stood up, healed.
"He's right! No matter if my bones are augmented it doesn't make a difference at all! I still feel pain and lose blood!" Soludant grimaced as Grimjak closed the gap.
"Holiness...bless me. I love you as I love my enemy..please give me your energy." Soludant prayed.
SLASHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Grimjak drove his talons into the Saint's throat, driving him into the floor. Soludant coughed a heavy amount of blood, grimacing as his vision slowly became blurry.
But then...
BOOM!
Grimjak was sent flying off of Soludant after being punched directly in the chest, landing roughly on his back and grunting loudly. "GAGH~"
Soludant's wounds around his neck started to heal as he very slowly sat up, the two looking at each other half a dozen meters away from the ground, breathing heavily and with dead eyes.
"Thank you." Soludant thanked the god he had prayed to.
"Not...bad.." Soludant grunted, slowly standing up. "You weren't far from my spine. If you had destroyed that you would have ended me and my magik instantly." He held his chest as he panted. "And you shattered a few of my ribs.."
Soludant started to walk slowly towards Grimjak with a slight grunt and a hunched back. "I'll end it quickly. You have no chance now that I-"
Grimjak flicked his wrist at Soludant, throwing the tanto that belonged to him straight into the left of his chest. Soludant coughed blood and slowly looked down at the tanto, before looking right into Grimjak's red eyes.
"Your fists. They were the only thing you could augment with your magik. If that wasn't the case you would have defended your bones against my strike to your neck. Even if you could your body wouldn't have handled the Magik Strain as your body was already bleeding and in pain from the strikes to your skin and muscle over the bone itself. In all honestly, I should have bitten your throat out instead of using my nails. Good match, Saint. Now...
..go to your creator~"
Soludant flopped onto his back with the tanto in his heart. The audience cheered but the cheers weren't heard clearly from the injured and concussed Grimjak. He sat silently with his legs in front of him as he looked at the dead saint, a small smile across his face.
"No matter how much you pray to the gods, we are all only what we are - ants."
The brain is what allows intelligent beings to manipulate magik. If the spinal cord to the brain is destroyed your magik will also be eradicated alongside your life. Brain damage also has the risk of completely destroying your ability to use magik for the rest of your life.

A D&D Gamer in Garweeze Wurld
He doesn't know how he got here, and while the trappings are familiar, he doesn't actually know where he is, either. From the perspective of those around him, Duromar is a half-ogre barbarian, an uncivilized brute by any standard you care to use. But from his perspective, he's a character created in a gaming system. From either one, he must live within the rules of that system. This is the story of a gamer who ends up in a game that's just a bit off from what he knows. ---- I wanted to write something a little bit old-school. Most of the LitRPG I've found seems to be based on computer RPG styled stories. Progression through levels is fast, and depending on the game, skills and even attributes can be trained with or without class levels. This wasn't true with the older pen and paper games, and that's the style of leveling I wanted to write.

Author's note: This is my first novel and as you had expected from the title, it's a xianxia novel. It's going to take a couple years to finish so stay a while. There may be an extra one so watch out for that. There may be a few errors here and there so I would like your assistance in spotting them. Thanks for reading!
