《ADEPTAVERSE》38 - Dogma Arc: Absolute Magik and Red Immortality

Approx 115 years ago.
A 15-year-old Nero was sitting on a red carpet in a room inside a palace, the room was filled with paintings of the royalty of old as well as an unlit fireplace and a table and chair next to a stained glass window depicting a horned figure falling from the heavens. The young Wolven's innocent marked red eyes darted around the floor as he lined up dominos all of which had a singular dot on them. He lined a few dozen of them up and with a gentle tap of his right index finger he knocked them all down. With a sigh, he started to line them up again, this time forming a circle with them and knocking them down with a gentle tap with the same finger he used last time.
The door in the corner of the room suddenly swung open and a tall wolven man with silver hair and red eyes walked in, alongside him was a human woman with wavy black hair who stood at around 5'7 having blue eyes and rather pale skin. Both of them judging by their clothing alone were of royal blood.
"Nero. What are you doing?" The wolven asked sharply, walking over to Nero and looking down on him with his sharp red eyes.
Nero quickly picked up all of his dominos, keeping them close to his chest. "N-Nothing father, I was playing."
"Playing? Didn't I tell you to study the Book of Marked Imperialism?" The man's eyes narrowed. Nero started to shake, slowly looking over to the table in the room. On top of it was an orange book which was closed.
"I-I was studying..I just wanted to take a break...clear my min-"
SMACK!
The father launched a slap across Nero's face, who stood there in shock after dropping his dominos. The woman behind the father stood there, unfazed as she watched the man slap Nero.

"I told you not to get distracted, Son. You will be the successor. You have been chosen to be the new ruler of Wrathak when your time comes. Not I, but you. That is how we work. We do not simply go from person to person. We choose those fit, and we raise them as such."
Nero slowly looked down at the red carpet, his cheek red.
"Yes...father."
...
This was how Nero lived, he didn't have a healthy path to his position. It was forced, abusive, and traumatic. His parents wouldn't go a day without checking on him in this way. Not allowing him to have any sort of hobbies or friends that might distract him from his path of being the perfect emperor. Because of this, he developed a sort of anxiety that made him not do more than one thing at a time and not develop relations with people outside of his family as he didn't want to be beaten by his parents. He became obsessed with the concept of "One" because of this - only having one goal in mind; to be the best successor to the throne when his time came. He soon became obsessed with it much like his parents.
At the time the Inhuman Empire was in full power over Wrathak and Diratopia and Emperor Daraku was in power, who was the grandfather of Nero and the man who would eventually be assassinated which resulted in the Supreme War breaking out. It was declared by the royal family that, thanks to Daraku's death, the successor to the throne would be a war hero of royal blood, one who would lead the Inhuman Empire to victory with their knowledge of the battlefield overpowering the enemy.
Unfortunately for Nero, he would be beaten in this match of who would be the new emperor. His older Cousin known as Arkara had proven himself on the battlefield and was chosen to be the emperor when the peace treaty had been signed. Nero was angry, knowing that his chance as emperor was taken from him.

However, his rise to power didn't end here...
115 Years Later; Present.
...
Nero was walking slowly across the plains with a metal walking stick, the old wolven man's thin beard blowing to the side in the wind as he stopped, spotting four figures in the far distance. "Hmm.." He waited there, the area around him being almost completely flat.
Altara looked in the distance, as did the rest of the group.
Drip..
Altara's nose bled slightly, he looked at the floor as the blood landed on it.
"This Magik..."
Konstantine looked at Altara's nose drip, looking forward at the figure ahead.
Altara wiped his nose as Kry got out his binoculars.
"No...why is he..."
Hugo grabbed the binoculars and looked through them as well.
"It's him...
...the emperor.."
Nero slowly started to walk towards them, his magik aura steaming red from his body.
"S-Shit..that pressure.." Hugo felt the pressure from the magik as did everyone else, Altara noticed the red steam and slowly summoned his sword.
"With age comes intelligence...be ready!" Kry shouted out.
Hugo summoned his axe as Konstantine enchanted her pistol with fire.
Nero slowly dropped his walking stick and his body suddenly glowed a blinding red, causing the group to cover their eyes. Hugo summoned a shield and used it to cover his.
...
Nero felt a sensation, one could compare it to a chiropractor adjusting a spine. His skin, once wrinkly, now became smooth with a simple frown line. His red hair grew back in a crew cut as his thin beard burned away instantly, leaving no facial hair at all. His bones cracked and twisted, adjusting and becoming healed of age. His eyes rolled back as this happened, but soon it all clear.
Nero, once old, was now a man in his early twenties. His body constantly steaming with red magik after this drastic transformation.
The group looked in utter shock, even Kry and Hugo whose eyes and mouth both hung wide.
"This is what it means to be powerful. This is what it means to be the One. This is immortality."
Konstantine's eyes shook with anger, realizing the true purpose of her capture.
"I, Emperor Nero, have achieved immortality!"

The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).
