《Garden of Thorns *Lit RPG*》V2 Chapter 17: The Dragon.

Albert was walking in the streets where the Sylvanus knights had shown Albert the baby dragon that was in the cage.
"Why did you cage it?"
"It's dangerous, Your Grace!" Albert unlocked the cage, kneeling as he offered a hand to the dragon. It's black as darkness, glaring at him as it growled. Biting Albert's hand, as the knights drew their blades.
"Stand down. Don't scare the dragon. You idiots were not supposed to cage it. Just keep it where it was.. Come now little one. Let's go bring you to your family." Albert said as he ripped the shackles off, where the dragon hovered out. Albert looked at the wounds over its body, casting healing magic to heal its wounds.
"Now come, let's go." Albert said as the dragon hovered behind him.
"Your Grace!"
"Protect the civilians. I'll deal with the dragon. I expect your best."
"Yes, Your Grace!" The Sylvanus Knights went off first, they wore long coats instead of armor. Their helmets were specially designed with vents to allow them to breathe easier, and the long coats allowed them to use magic without worrying too much about weight. The baby dragon nuzzled Albert's cheeks.
"So you're a black dragon. Are you 50 years old?"
"Um... I'm sorry. I am not.. Not good at speaking." The dragon's voice was in its ancient language, though Albert could understand because of the fact that he had the Ancient of White, Bayran who was a dragon.
"I understand you. So don't need to speak in human language. Just speak as a dragon. You understand what I say don't you?"
"You can speak dragon? That's so cool!" Albert smiled as he kept strolling on the road, seeing the Sylvanus Knights cutting down the ogres and trolls that made their way inside the capital. The guards and knights were holding their ground but the Sylvanus Knights were something else, their tactics and swordplay were fundamentally different.
They were fast, not focusing on the fundamentals but rather their positioning. Slashing the limbs first, then going for the head. Focusing on whittling down enemies within seconds, Albert was impressed with them as he continued onwards.
"Where is my child?! You humans! How dare you!?" Albert heard the roar that caused a rumble as the buildings were shaking from the dragon's roar.
"Daddy!" The baby dragon flew up to see the rampaging flames that scorched the earth.
"Go on. Fly to your dad." Albert leaped up a building, looking at the white dragon that was unleashing its black flames that left parts of the capital in embers.
"Hm... My child! You're safe." The baby dragon flew into the arms of the white dragon, the dragon glared at Albert who did not say a word.
"Your child's safe. Now can you stop burning the city. this is a misunderstanding."
"Misunderstanding!? You humans kidnapped my child and dared to threaten her safety!" The dragon roared where Albert put on a pair of gloves.
Dimensional Glove transfer complete.
Joshua Gates and Thorn Weapon set has been transferred.
Ready when you are.
"Daddy no! Listen to him!" The dragon unleashed black flames at Albert who drew out a great sword. Warding off the flames as the heat was reaching him. His clothes weren't burning. Which was surprising.
The clothes have been given a new modifier.
They will now be attuned to your Gates hoodie and mask.
Similar concept. They can take the heat but not too much of it.
Would you like to have it attuned to your Coat of Crimson?

"I'll pass." Albert said as he waited for the dragon to inhale a deep breath, this time leaping above as he pulled out a mace and a hammer. The first blow with the hammer, an upward swing that pushed the dragon's head upwards. Unleashing the flames in its body outward, a follow up with the mace to ensure that the dragon would be facing anywhere but the buildings or the ground.
"I can't have you break the buildings now. So why don't you be on your merry way with your daughter?"
"YOu insolent human! I'll kill you!" The dragon roared at Albert who took a deep breath and roared back at the dragon in defiance.
"I don't have time to play with you! So go already!" Albert shouted as he leaped away, where the dragon was taken aback only to be scolded by the baby dragon. They took a moment to observe Albert who was now facing the monsters that broke through the gates.
"They broke through!" The Sylvanus Knights leaped into combat, combining magic and long sword techniques. Imbuing wind magic into their blades, to swing it through the myriad of monsters that broke through. Pushing the monsters into the walls for a brief moment, as the other Sylvanus Knights went in for the kill. Systematic approach, with the remaining knights pushing the blade deep into the monster's throat. Swinging the blade free, chasing after the other monsters.
When the Sylvanus Knights turned to see Albert with his long sword, the sight of His Grace in combat was something that had everyone in awe. Albert proved why his title as the Blade of Reznoa was not merely a title. Slashing through dozens of monsters. The blood splashing his face, a wolf pounced from behind. Elbowing the sheathe where the wolf was greeted by the blunt sheathe that struck its head. Left hand drawing out a pistol. A blast from the pistol as he swapped to a katana. Taking a moment to draw the blade, turning the monsters by the gate into chunks of meat.
Then swapping over to sharpened gauntlets, clawing through the monsters at the front while the riflemen took their position to fire off a few shots. Loud gunfire would always distract the monsters, giving Albert the chance to mow them down.
"Your Grace, we've reconstructed the gate!" Albert leaped back inside as the newly made gate appeared out of thin air. Created by alchemy, the newly reinforced gate would hold out for a while.
"Assess the damages. Sylvanus Knights. Take a break. You've done well. Stay vigilant. It is your free time. If you wish to help the citizens. I permit you to do so!"
"Yes, Your Grace!" They went away while Albert could see the dragon observing him, then noticing a few of them. If they were going to cause trouble, Albert didn't have an issue with cutting them down. They flew away after observing Albert's prowess. Not because they were scared but curious to a human who can speak in the dragon language.
Albert went back to the Royal Castle, where the Fangs had put up bodies of the dead would be assassins.
"Your Grace. I apologize but it seems these assassins have a mind control collar. So their skills are a mixed bag of Assassins from different regions. It's hard to tell which is the dominant approach that they have taken."
"It can't be helped. The one controlling them knew that if they had used their own countrymen's techniques. It would have been known. The matter with the dragon has already been settled, it's already left with its kin." Albert sighed as he scratched his head.

"Your Majesty!" A soldier rushed in with a rifle over the back.
"The dragons are at our borders! They are claiming that we have harmed their kin! They are ready to attack us!"
"Zephyr!" The Spectral Horse appeared from below.
"Duke Sylvanus?"
"Keep the borders safe, I'll handle the dragons. Let's go Zephyr." Albert left as Zephyr phased through the wall.
System is integrating with a special skill.
Dragon's Nightmare.
The deaths of hundreds of dragons in your path has left a strong impression on the weaker dragons.
Only those whose strength is above average may be able to withstand the pressure when you unleash this skill.
"It's not exactly my achievement."
That may be so.
But... You were the one who played a role for Joshua Gates.
The spectral horse phasing through the buildings was a sight that had startled the residents of the capital.
"Thanks... System... But you have a name don't you?"
I am merely a System...
I do have a name but I am merely a clerk in charge of your soul.
"I hope I'll know your name soon, Clerk."
In due time.
Albert arrived at the borders where he could see the soldiers and knights running away, the civilians were left behind in bunkers. The cowards left people behind to die. They were running for their own lives. The Royal Army
Albert heard a child crying in the field, where a wyvern was glaring at the child. Opening its mouth, ready to eat the poor boy. Albert fired a shot from a pistol that pushed the wyvern back. Leaping over to grab the child to safety, where Albert found a single knight who was left.
"Your name?"
"My name is Weiss Miller! I'm a Knight of the Royal Kingdom's soldier." His armor was shabby, his blade was cracked.
"Do you know how to use a long sword?"
"Yes, Your Grace!" Albert gave him a long sword.
"Try not to die, Weiss. If you make it through today. I'll be sure have you join my ranks."
"But... I'm a commoner."
"It doesn't matter. If you're a soldier who stayed here when dragons are before us? Then I suppose you will be enough. When this is done find me at the Sylvanus Estate." Albert said as he raised his blade to the oncoming invaders. The dragon knights came first, they had spears. Albert had a great sword, cleaving one of the dragon knights in two. His left hand grabbed another dragon knight's head. Crushing it with brute force alone.
The fumes from the vents by Albert's cheeks and through the teeth of his skull mask was a grim reminder of fear that was to be stated. Cutting through their armor, breaking their bones with a hammer and a mace. Then swapping to an axe that he wielded with both hands. Chopping off their limbs like logs. To keep a fire burning, one would need plenty of logs. Albert grinned at the sight of all the logs he'd have to keep that blaze going for a long while.
The dragons dived down to strike Albert from the air. Albert threw an axe upwards. It got stuck by the neck of a dragon. Where Albert warped over to grab the axe, then changing to a great sword to cut through the nape. The head and body fell as Albert went ahead to cut through more of them.
"How?! A human was able to harm us!? How is this po-" A dragon's gaze met with a human's. Yet, the dragon fell in submission. As its life was reaped away in an instant. The Hydra was next, going at him with its 10 heads. Albert was able to dodge them all but his main plan was to cut them down. Tightening the gloves once more as he threw his hands forward. Unleashing wires that began had entangled the hydra, Albert pulled the wires as they begin to cut through the hydra's scales and flesh.Eventually leaving it nothing but finely chopped pieces of meat.
"Dragons are arrogant as ever." Albert said as he wiped the blood off the gloves, looking at the remains.
"Leave and never return. If you do. I'll make sure you understand the consequences." Albert spoke to the dragon's in their own language. Which caught them by surprise. The cold wind blew in, with their limbs feeling the frost bite. Seeing the path from where Albert was standing had now been encased in an ice that could not be melted.
"You dare to speak to us in our tongue! You insolent human!" A dragon knight went after Albert, where they see Albert rip the dragon knight's right arm off, then impaling the dragon knight's head with his own limb.
"I'm starting to lose my patience. Leave, or I'll just paint this place with your blood. Red from those proud and prideful dragons sounds like a nice shade of red, I wonder what other colours will you show me?" An innocent voice that was hiding the sinister nature of a figure that only knew how to kill.
"We're leaving. You will pay for this."
"My name is Albert Sylvanus. If you wish to issue a decree for my arrest. You may do so through the messenger. I'll gladly come to your Kingdom." they left while Albert turned to see Weiss who was still alive. He had taken down 5 of the Dragon Knights. That's a feat for a mere soldier.
"Good work. You'll be part of the Sylvanus Knights from now on. Forget your post at the Royal Army." Albert said as he turned to see the Sylvanus Knights walking over in their coats with swords in hand.
"Take care of the people. Ensure that we help them in rebuilding their homes. Reimi!" A Sylvanus Knight with white hair walked on over to Albert, she lowered her hood. Her figure was that of a woman, but the patch on her right shoulder indicated she was part of the First Blades. Meaning she is part of the few who received tutorship from Albert Sylvanus.
"Yes, Your Grace?" Placing her hand to her left chest and bowing before Albert.
"Weiss Miller. From this point on. She will be giving your Commander in Chief. Reimi, this is the only Royal Army soldier that stood here."
"For once not a coward. I'll be sure to have him transferred to our unit. You will spend your first 1 month curing your bad habits with the crappy sword play that the Royal Army has taught you. Also, you will be given training with a pistol and rifle. When that one month is over you will be assigned to a Blade Master. A Fifth blade is the lowest rank and they can take down orcs. A First Blade must be able to equal a demon knight or an angel's blade. Dragons are Second Blades. Think about that." Reimi explained it to Weiss who was still uncertain.
"We don't look at status here. If His Grace asked for your enlistment. I don't ask." Reimi said as Albert rode off with Zephyr. Then noticing something.
Confirming. It looks as if you can make Rose Knights out of the Fangs of Sylvanus and the Sylvanus Knights
The Ancient of Longing Faith has shown interest.
Ancient of Longing Faith : Just a teeny witty bit interested. Let's see how far their loyalty goes.
Another Ancient?
"Which rose are you?"
AoLF: Let's see how well they do. If they do well. I will grant them the permission.
"Fair enough." Albert headed back to the Kingdom where he could see a noble, Baron Mislow making his report to the Royal Family and the Saintess. The bastard who was running with his men to the capital.
"Ah, Duke Sylvanus." Albert heard the mocking voice coming from this well fed bastard who had a smug grin.
"Surprised to see me being alive, Baron?" Baron Mislow was trying to hide his thoughts with a smile but it was too obvious that Albert could not say much about it.
"No, of course you'd be safe. I had faith in you." Baron Mislow was trying to distract Albert
"Your Majesty. The dragons have left but the only reward I want is a soldier named Weiss Miller."
"What's so special about him?" Prince Elerei popped the question first, everyone was thinking about it.
"He's just a commoner soldier.. Noted for his lack of any excellent combat ability. He's the scrape of the barrel. Why him?" A general asked.
"Good. Then there'd be no complaints if I take him?" The generals nodded as Albert was already smiling because of the fact he had a good catch.
"Duke Sylvanus. You will be aiding the Saintess who will be on her journey to the Empire of Rubris. Where they have summoned humans from another realm to help them with warding off monsters. The Saintess will be off to purify the source of the curse that has been causing monsters to go on a rampage." At this point? Albert was already seeing this as stories based on a person who just enjoys the trope of a good looking men harem. Considering the Prince and the Chosen Guardians were very handsome males.
This was definitely a game or a story that was geared to women. Though it does make sense why most of the country was idiotic.
This world is based on a game known as Gallade Everlast.
It's supposedly a Visual novel with choices.
Duke Sylvanus is a capture target for a romance route.
Take note.
The Saintess and the Princess are reincarnated people who love the game and they understand each other well.
They like the guys and want to be surrounded by them.
They also have seen the beauty of Duke Sylvanus.
So... How do you want to change your face?
"Understood, Your Majesty. The Princess will be accompanying her as well while we sort out other matters." The King said as Albert joined them. The Saintess had 4 Chosen Guardians which includes the Prince. The Princess had her two guards and Duke Hagard.
They were going to travel to Empire of Rubis, now stepping into carriages while Albert was riding on Zephyr.
"Duke... Can I ride behind you?" The Saintess,Candace asked as she tried to hold Zephyr, only to see her hand phased through and she tripped into the Prince's arms.
"This isn't a holiday and Zephyr's very temperamental. If it doesn't like you, it won't even let you touch it. Now come on. We got a long journey ahead of us." Albert said as they headed onwards.

Young bloods (WIP)
" So-called leaders prostituted their people to wars and abuse. They destroyed families, culture and economies; their hands dyed red by the blood of the children, the families trampled by their lecherous motivations and diabolical war machines. Trained and taught by the Revenants or rather “young bloods” from their war-torn world, we were going to build a better world for us and for the later generations, a world when there shall be no more wars waged over territory, a world where boys and girls can frolic around for all of eternity." -Sasha, Terutan regular army cadet. ‘History is determined by the victors, and here we stand transcended over those who abused us. History is filled with liars, broken promises of eternal prosperity and peace. The more things change, the more things stayed the same: ideology change, location shift but power will always find a place to rest its head. We fought and bled for the adults, the grown men and women who preached of us being their future, preached us of the freedom from tyranny and slavery; no wonder why we hated them so. History is determined by the victor, and there shall be no victors when we’re done.’- Yulia Bronskavya, Red Army Homeguard. Their deaths marked a new beginning, a new beginning in a strange and magical land that was and had only been dreamt of in stories and folk tale, they had arrived to Terruta. The first ones regarded themselves as Revenants, heroes who had been able to be reborn in this world and began their adventure to explore this strange foreign land. However, “every coin have two sides, like everyone have two faces”. 'As they left their former life behind, the young soldiers and operators found themselves being deceived, abused and taken advantaged off again by the elders of this world. Many were abused, tortured, raped and sold to slavery, Revenants were quite sought after due to their timeless charm, strength, intellect and immortality, they were unable to be killed no matter what; many were bought and used as pets, slaves and entertainers for their masters’ entertainment.
