Soggorin, Elder Demon Level 175 HP 150,000 MP 200,000 Skills Elder's Wrath Puts opponents in a state of fear. Demonic Lord Can Summon Enemies to attack Venerators.
Soggorin opened his mouth, unleashing the many heads that transformed into creatures charging at them. Donovan and Iacus went ahead first. Donovan was breaking their formation with his long sword, he was not going to waste any time with them. Iacus was throwing daggers at the mage. Soggorin called for more of them, the horde was amassing on their position. His pools of health was huge but he was healing faster than they damage it.
"Keep up the pressure! Keep firing!" Mitchell and Alec jumped to the air, firing more shots to clear the way for Joshua. Lugasa used his flames with Ferno to double the damage and effect, Krieg was blasting away his shotgun. Then flipping it to use it as an axe, swinging at the demons as if they were trees that was waiting for its day to be chopped. Alpha 1 and the others were fighting, they were not weak. On the contrary, they were pushing through as Joshua kept cutting down the demons that get closer.
'Four Seasons Blessing Skill : Elemental Rouge' The elements of fire, ice, wind and earth covered the Cherry Blossoms. Joshua swung the blades forward, where the elements took form as waves that froze, burn, cut and struck stones at the demons. Alec, Mitchell and Krieg were fighting in front of Joshua, they ducked when the elemental wave slashes came. Taking advantage to reload their weapons and devise new strategies. Continously firing more of their guns to the target. Krieg used his pair of pistols while Alec and Mitchell swapped out their magazines for some different ammunition. Swapping their magazines for dragon's breath shells. The dragon's breath shells pushed the horde back. As Soggorin continued to keep his chruning out his neverending horde. This gave the Blade Sanctuary Venerators the chance to tear through the groups, this time it was their turn to keep up the aggression. The Iron Guard readied their shields carefully, bashing the demons as they get close, following it up with striking the joints. Then giving the Apocalypse Raider mages with their familiars to handle the final blow.
"This horde's never ending, Lord. If you want to be useful, go rush into that bastard's mouth." Krieg said, throwing a revolver at Joshua's hand.
"His health's a lie, but if you can go deeper. You can find his weak spot but that revolver will be able to kill him. He looks like this." Krieg took off his mask, showing the handsome face that he had. The violet eyes and graying hair.

Demon's Bane.
A revolver of a time gone by. This is a temporary loan. Breaks upon use.
This revolver only has one bullet left in its chamber. Only one bullet. Make it count.

Joshua put the revolver to his chest and drew Rayland's Unforgiven with Zephyr picking Joshua from behind.
"You two follow your Lord. We'll handle things from here." Mitchell said as he headbutted a demon, then shot its head off. Iacus and Donovan ran to Joshua's side, tearing through the entire horde. Donovan put on his shield, charging through the horde while Iacus slashed them. His rapier made a quick work to skewer the entire hordes of the group. Piercing the blade to the chest, tilting his hand upwards and swung upwards to free his blade.
iacus continued roaring as he threw his long sword into a demon knight's head, then using his bare hands to grab a demon berserker by its leg. Then swinging the demon around like a bad. The demons were getting more confused and were trying to run but Donovan was continuing his onslaught.
"I will purge you before my lord! With your own kind, demon!" Donovan roared as he looked at the demon berserker going limb and holding the black skeletal right leg. Then continuing an onslaught of swinging the skeletal leg. Iacus ran out of daggers and his sword was missing.
"Hah! You have no weapons! What good can you do!?" Iacus glared at the demon, walking closer as he grabbed the demon by the head.
"Of course not. You are a demon, so I can do this." Iacus ripped the demon skull out with the spine, then grabbing the spine.
"I like using makeshift weapons. So this will work." Iacus swung the demon skull, instantly breaking another demon's head.
"Go ahead, Lord. We can handle things here." Joshua proceeded onwards. Getting his path straight as Zephyr threw him in front of it. Joshua looked at the horse as it stood inside.
Continuing onwards, Joshua encountered more demons, keeping his brother's weapon by his side as he fired off a few shots. Joshua's reload was now different. It was not the usual swing chamber and reload. It was a little bit more showy but it worked well with enemies that came close. Swinging the revolver at the demons that came close. Joshua shoved the revolver into one demon's head then drawing out the Priest Alex's Blessing to fire at the other ones that came close. Putting a moon clip into the revolver's chamber. Then pulling it out, swinging the bayonet to strike the other demons.

Left hand holstered the Priest Alex's pistol, chugging a magazine into it. Pushing the pistol down to ready himself. Joshua went deeper. This place was a maze, he kept the Demon's Bane stuck to his chest and will need to figure out what he will need to do. A maze of bodies.
Joshua continued his path until he encountered what seemed to be a strange creature. A horse that was as tall as a 4 storey building with a humanoid corpse on it. Joshua could feel himself suffocating in this place. It was filled with body parts and the hands grabbed Joshua's legs. Not letting him move.
'Skill : Supreme Rule has negated the ability' The arms and hands that grabbed Joshua stopped and withered away like dying flowers. Joshua grabbed Demon's Bane and pulled the hammer back. Taking a deep breath, in terms of levels. Sure this thing was huge and the gap was 100.
Yet, Joshua had the advantage. He doesn't run a lot for a reason, because he lacked control but all he needed. Was just a single chance. Joshua vanished from the sight, and he made his way to the corpse. It had Krieg's face, the face twisted itself when it came to the realization.
Joshua was already in front of him. A single shot, and Soggorin fell. The entire world turned into a black abyss. Everything was dying, loud screams and voices plagued the air. And moments later, the entire environment changed. Turning into something else, a bright sun above the sky. The Avatar of Destruction was smoking his cigar, the Avatar of Fall merely looking at the trees that were in their state of autumn and the Avatar of War who shouldered his Dane Axe.
"You've cleared the Spire. Good work, but there's a bit more that needs to be done." Kael said to Joshua as he passed four cards. Joshua glanced at it, seeing the card show four seasons but they were blank. Joshua took a deep breath as the cards were imbued with the summer, spring, winter and autumn.
"Yo!" They turned to see a few more Avatars. Avatars of Summer, Spring and Winter. They stepped forth with the Avatar of Fall going over to Joshua. Taking the cards from him and they stood in front of Joshua.
"Lord of Thorns. It is your duty to govern the seasons when this starts. This place is beautiful but many things have changed. We are the Avatar of Seasons and we grant you our blessing as well." They crushed the four cards in unison, where the trees, flowers bloomed all around. Beasts appeared once more, roaming the area. Dragons, wyverns, serpents, snakes, vipers... Divine Fenrirs, Cursed Fenrirs, many creatures began to make this place their home. Where Joshua turned to see it was in a state of permanent to the four elements.
Winter was south, autumn was north, spring was in the east and summer was to the west.
"We've restored this world back to its truest form. Now, it will be up to you. This place will be a reasearch spire. Many of the creatures in this place are docile, but be aware that if humans do try to bother them too much. They will react negatively." The Avatars of the Four Seasons chorused to Joshua.
"Research Spires are meant to be peaceful but just remember. If humans try to poach any of these animals. Do not expect them to be friendly. However, to you. The creatures that live here will be peaceful. If you ever truly have days when you are in a bad position and need a break. This place will always be open to you, Lord of Thorns." The Avatars chorused to Joshua.
Joshua watched Demon's Bane break into pieces by his hands. Then seeing Kael throw something at Joshua.
"What's this?" Joshua looked at it, a black blade.
"It's a sword that has a connection to the Four Seasons. Nurture it well." Kael said as he snapped his fingers to open a portal and the other Venerators fell down unconscious.
"Their memories have been replaced with a bit of detail. They didn't face a creature named Soggorin. It was just a simple spire extermination. So don't overthink it. By the way, you should check on that Gate of the Shame. It'll be something for you to go and learn." Kael said as they left. They were all brought back to the entrance.
He gained some new familiars and now...There was something else that he needed to do. The Gate of Shame.

Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz

It had become clear to Julian that the heavens did not favor him, so he left on one last journey when… ***** Ahhh I don't really know what else to add but ill write it here anyway, this is my first time writing a story, so I am still experimenting with things, so it is possible that you might find the beginning of the story to be a bit slow, but I assure you the later chapters and things I have in plan will not disappoint you. Oh, I also forgot to mention that I have taken inspiration from waaaay tooo many novels that I liked, and while there aren't any specific ones that I based this upon there are a few that I definitely took inspiration from like : the author's POV, chronicles of the heavenly demon [you can probably see where this inspired me ;)], etc.

The Woods Have Teeth
A Burglar, a Lawman, his scent hound, a Hitman, and a Hellhound chase each other through a very Spooky Forest on a quest for absolution, understanding, mercy, and fulfilment of duty. The story is mildly Slavic-fantasy, with a guest appearance from Baba Yaga and her house on hen's feet. It contains tight personal stakes and none of the human characters have magic powers or superhuman abilities. Nothing bad happens to the dog.
