Darren was a successful businessman, founder of the biggest publishing studio AoE studios. He lived a good life that is, until he dies. He's given a choice. either he goes to the traditional heaven, where theres no internet, TV , meat, and sex OR he goes to a fantasy world like the many his company has published. Defeat a big bad boss and become filthy rich. Theres a catch though. unlike fantasy games, the people here are not NPCs to be trifled with mundane quests, the lowest level monsters that are usually cannon fodder in games are strong and fight for their lives like any living being would, The harsh economy of medieval times, the various languages and cultures of different races, and the politics and intrigue playing in the background with a war looming on the horizon. Oh and no respawns. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ No OP characters, No chosen one,and no "oh I did something that MILLIONS of other people just didn't think to do". I am also going to try my best to stick with realism. what a guy transported to medieval times would likely do with zero knowledge of cultures or combat aside from a few TV shows. If you're looking for a powerful chosen one who defeats scores of enemies without even looking, or who finds an ancient artifact to defeat a dark lord this isn't it.

The Shadow That Preludes Death (The Favoured)
Magic and fantastical beasts run wild on the countless worlds of the Fabric. Deities take an active interest in the Fabric. The Favoured, immortal mages of immense power vie for territory and power in the Fabric. Umbra a naive ward of the Duke is almost Grown and that means she will need to take an apprenticeship. The issue is she isn't good at anything, but she catches the eye of a master of magic, he thinks she might be one of the fabled Protectors the ones that would save them from the coming destruction. But Umbra isn't the hero everyone wants her to be. Updates will at least one chapter every two days. Notable Location Poliagoras. Poliagoras is the most important world in the Fabric partly due to it being the centre of everything both literally and metaphorically. Trade, commerce, travel, and politics are all conducted primarily on Poliagoras, it has the biggest city in the fabric stretching to cover almost the entire world. It also holds all the known Great portals in the Fabric which are the only way to travel to other worlds. Even without these things, Poliagoras would still be the most important world in the Fabric as it is home to the largest population of Favoured. They were mages chosen by the Deities and given the potential to become more than mortal. I cannot overstate how appreciated constructive criticism is. This is the first story I have written of my own volition so even a small comment on how I could improve would be great. The current title is most definitely a working one. I know it isn't great.

Gosh, its awesome to see him (Gaston). He’s never down in the dumps! Every guy here'd love to be him (Gaston) even when taking his lumps. There's no man in town as admired as him, he's everyone's favorite guy! Everyone's awed and inspired by him and it's not very hard to see why: No one's slick as Gaston. No one's quick as Gaston. No one's neck's as incredibly thick as Gaston For there's no man in town half as manly! (perfect, a pure paragon) Ask any Tom, Dick or Stanley, and they'll tell you whose team they prefer to be on! Who plays darts like Gaston? Who breaks hearts like Gaston? Who’s much more than the sum of his parts like Gaston? As a specimen, yes, he’s intimidating; my, what a guy, that Gaston! He doesn’t need encouragement, you boneheaded fools. The only ones who need encouragement is you! (Was that too much? I say no.) No one fights like Gaston, douses lights like Gaston. In a wrestling match nobody bites like Gaston! When he hunts, he sneaks up with his quiver – beasts of the field say a prayer! First he carefully aims for the liver… then he shoots from behind! Is that fair? He doesn’t care. No one hits like Gaston, matches wits like Gaston. In a spitting match nobody spits like Gaston. (He’s especially good at expectorating!) Ten points for Gaston! When he was a lad he ate four dozen eggs every morning to help him get large. And now that he’s grown he eats five dozen eggs, so he’s roughly the size of a barge! Who has brains? Entertains? Who can make up these endless refrains like Gaston? (He uses antlers in all of his decorating!) Say it again: Who’s a man amongst men? Who’s a super success? Don’t you know? Can’t you guess? Ask his fans and his end(less) hangers-on! There’s just one guy in town who’s got all of it down! And his name’s G-A-S-T-O-N GASTON!

In an ancient time of Kings and Queens, the Humans lived in harmony with the great beings that roamed the Earth. No kingdom was more peaceful than Cadmus, where the Cadmians existed beside the greatest creatures of all, the Dragons. The ruler of Cadmus, King Anguis, although very young, was much beloved. He never turned a deaf ear to the Humans or Dragons of Cadmus, and the kingdom flourished. Under the protection of the Dragons and their Empress, Queen Maeve, paired with Anguis' extraordinary ability to keep peace, the lands prospered and grew tenfold within a few short years. Cadmus and Draconia became the greatest kingdoms known to exist. But it was not meant to last. King Anguis, barely into adulthood, was murdered in the night. His death rocked Cadmus to its core, and the Cadmians mourned with the Draconians, grieving for their beloved King. As Prince Agni, Anguis' younger brother, assumed the throne, he declared war on the Dragons, announcing that the kingdom would be Cleansed. He enlisted a brutal army of elite hunter-assassins known as the Enforcers to carry out the Cleansing, and the kingdom was consumed by a shadow of tyranny. Cadmus became a war zone, and the land of Draconia was devastated. A group of survivors of the Cleansing, Dragons disguised in Human form, created a secret society known as the Occultus Draconem. As King Agni's power grew and the Enforcers became more brutal than ever, a rebellion stirred. The Occultus Draconem began stepping in to stop the Cleansings, fighting back for the freedom of the Dragons and swearing to bring peace back to Draconia and Cadmus. But how can they succeed without the heir to the Draconian throne?
