《The call in the night, OneShots collection》Ringing bells

When I opened my eyes I was immersed in a strange green liquid in a basin. The room was dark, only a feeble light penetrated in it revealing strange drawings and runes on the walls.
When I stood up my whole body felt tired and sloppy, I still got my clothing on.
“Strange is the world, isn’t it” a voice in the dark said
I turned but couldn’t see anything
“Sor-sorry?”
Something heavy moved “you did you got here? Wrong pact? Draw to much interest? Opened the wrong books?” there was a light laugh at the end
“Nothing of this sort….I was with my horse, I was just enjoying the eve-”
“Yeah, me too, just some horses and stuff.”
He felt a strong breath even though he still couldn’t see him
“Who are you?”
“I could ask you the same thing…”
The sound of metalic edges hitting the ground was heard
“What was that?”
“Poor Kleyoth, a really interesting case his”
“Why so?”
“I couldn’t tell you, he will”
An horrible breeze came into the room, distant thunders and bells were ringing
“Finally he has returned”
“Who?”
“The home owner”
A man dressed in a blue cloack wearing a raven mask came into the room and looked at him. Then he went away.
“Who was that?”
“No one, don’t ask too many questions, things end here for a reason. No one here is innocent or kind.” he moved closer revealing a mass of open flesh and guts breathing barely visible to him “not even me.” then he returned to his usual shadow.
“Wha-wha-what?!?”
“I was once a giant, an ogre if you wish, I wasn’t very disimilar to you. One day I found my-”
A bell ring, something grabbed his arm and dragged him away.

On the vast flat pascoliny giving a view of the great pillars founding on nothing there was a well dressed man.
“A drink?” the man said
“No-no thanks… why I am here?”
“Relax, I don’t want to do anything like what I did to him. He was a...particular case, the experiments on him gave great results.”
“Why I am here”
He looked at him “I wanted to talk to you, you are a lord right?”
“Yes, a high ranking noble.”
“Hmm” he paused, some distant bells begin ringing “return to your rooms, don’t listen to that thing, he lies and deceit constantly. Not about him though, about him is pretty accurate.”
“You are not the home owner?”
“Me?” he laugh “I couldn’t be it in a thousand years! Now rest, exams will begin tommorow”
He was brough to another room

My father scolds me sharply. I flinch at the anger in his voice and quickly retract my hand, inches from the trunk of the tree. "Sorry father, I couldn't help it. The trees are just so beautiful," I whine turning towards him. His face softens slightly and he scoops me up into his muscled arms. I wrap my small arms around his neck and bury my face into his shoulder. He hugs me tightly and carries me away from the forest. "Why can't we go into the forest?" I ask, looking over his shoulder to see the red and gold leaves slowly disappear from view as we climb the hill. "The forest is a dangerous place," he sighs. "How can something so beautiful be so dangerous?" I mutter in confusion. "The danger is in its beauty."**Cover by SodaliteSilver**

Dekker's Dozen: The Last Watchmen
When a demon-possessed tree tries to impose its will on the universe, the future turns dark. But what does Dekker want? The leader of the only mercenary squad capable of standing in the enemy's way would be content if his ex-girlfriend and business partner promised not to stab him again. As he and his eleven teammates track down the intergalactic assassin who stalked his family for generations, they encounter Ezekiel, a mysterious man claiming to be a time-traveler and ancient prophet. Ezekiel claims Dekker will responsible for the annihilation of all reality--but worse, he knows all of Dekker's secrets: that he wields an ancient, celestial weapon, was once married to a terrorist, and is the last member of the Watchmen--an ancient secret society with one purpose. At Ezekiel's insistence, and with a super-weapon in the hands of warring armies, Dekker and his team must do the unthinkable to prevent the Sun's annihilation before his archenemy can bring what Ezekiel calls "the divine engines of reality" to a grinding halt--breaking all of existence--destroying all that is, will be, and ever was!
