The version of Encapsulation on Royal Road is the first draft of the story I just published. It is free for Kindle Unlimited subscribers, as well as for sale as an ebook (and, soon, in print and audiobook).

The final version has been professionally edited and contains roughly 40% more content which fleshes out Carrick's character arc and adds much greater depth to the worldbuilding.
