《Travel Through The Lands》Chapter 18. Elixir Of Life

The old wizard Huydor leant over the desk and whispered,
"If you keep the transaction between us, ill give 200 Carliec grass and 100 Oeka drops."
"Really?!" Lief looked at the man as if he were crazy.
"Yes. I don't want people to know I have this."
Lief suddenly thought of something and asked,
"How much would 100 Carliec grass and 50 Oeka drops cost usually?" Lief couldn't bear not asking this question.
"Around 100-200 silver total, think of the deal you're getting from this!" Huydor obviously thought that 100-200 silver wasn't a lot so he reminded Lief about the "good" deal he was getting.
Liefs eyes widened in shock and he began thinking...
Can time really change so much? I remember once when I watched a memory crystal that simulated the Kingdom, the prices for 100 Carliec grass and 50 Oeka would total around 250 gold! Could it be they lost the recipes for pills and potions that extend lifespan!?
"I agree to keep our matter secret." Lief smiled and replied after thinking.
"Good, good! Go and get the recipe and bring it back to me and ill prepare the ingredients."
Lief walked outside grabbing an "Empty Parchment" and an "Ink pen" on his way out.
[Skill Gained!]
Theft, Current level 1 - EXP 25/500
EXP gained differs depending on the value of stolen item.
"Haha... So theft counts as a skill too?" Lief laughed to himself as he placed the parchment against the wall outside and wrote out the process of making the Medium Health Potion.
After he checked it once he walked back into the potion store "Potion Master".
"You're back so soon? Haha, you must have known I would have made the trade and hid it around outside right? It's lucky no one found it." Hurdor smiled as he pulled out a bag full of ingredients.
"Check it if you would like," Lief says after he saw the text above the sack.

[200x Carliec grass, 100 Oeka drops]
The old wizard gently picked up the parchment that Lief wrote the recipe on and stared at it intently as if memorising it in case the paper crumbled to bits.
"Haha, I will only know if I have been tricked once I attempt this potion If you have tricked me... Don't expect to live well, I'll beat you down and take you to the local slave trade."
The wizard would obviously follow through with his threat, so Lief didn't bother staying around much longer. After purchasing four glass bottles and smiling to the Wizard, he picked up the sack and headed towards the inn he was staying in.
--
Unlike the last time Lief came into the inn, this time it was packed with drinkers and waitresses. They were all having a good time and none of them even noticed Lief walk in, the highest level in the inn was a level 34 but Lief wasn't here for looking at people so he walked towards the Bartender and owner of the inn.
[Chow] (Lvl 4 Warrior) (Level 57 Inn Keeper)
(Lvl 4 Warrior) (Level 57 Inn Keeper)
Age: 54
Chow noticed Lief, "Hey kid, your rent runs out tomorrow, so either pay up tomorrow or make sure you're packed by sunrise."
Lief smiled at the old man and asked: "How much is your biggest room?"
"100 silver a day, second biggest is 50, the third is 25 the other seven rooms are 10 and are the same size." Chow bluntly replied.
"Oh, I guess I'll swap my room out for the third biggest then, will it be 15 since I have already paid for the smaller room?" Lief asked curiously.
"Eh, we usually don't have people swap rooms. I suppose Ill do it for 15 for you for tonight, every other night is still 25 though." The middle-aged man replied with a kind smile.
"Great! Let's swap the keys then, I have already packed up. Oh! Before I forget..." Lief willed his whole 50 coins into his hands behind his back before placing them onto the counter: I accidentally burnt part of the mattress in room four so I gave you 35 silvers, that is more than enough right?" Lief asked apologetically.

"Sigh, I don't see how you can accidentally burn the mattress but 35 silver is indeed enough, heres your key." He handed Lief a key with a 3 imprinted on it.
--
Lief opened the door to room 3, the inside was definitely a lot roomier, it had a bed,a bathroom, a desk and even room to move around!
He had decided that now that he had a room, he would first make the Elixirs of Life and then go and ask the adventurers guild on how he would go about getting a class.
Rubbing his right hand revealed the cauldron picture that had faded not long after Lief left his home, he hadn't noticed it disappear but he remembered it when he thought about the cauldron.
Lief tapped the cauldron and before his left hand had even left right, the cauldron started to expand before landing gently on the floor.
"You will work with potions too right, you wouldn't try to turn this into a pill right? I'm pretty sure that would be bad..." Lief nudged the cauldron and asked his voice filled with both hope and doubt.
The cauldron emitted a blackish glow before a tap-like pipe appeared, coming out of the centre of the cauldron.
"I guess that's a yes...I hope." Lief mumbled before throwing in 50 Carliec grass and 25 Oeka drops, enough to make a single Exilir of life. Lief had to be cautious in case it didn't actually work if that were the case he would have to buy a regular cauldron...
The ingredients began to swirl around the cauldron before the lid sealed itself with a slight humming.
Lief hurriedly placed one of his glass bottles at the end of the pipe, luckily he did it then because as soon as the bottle touched the tip of the pipe the pure white liquid began pouring into it, it took seconds for the cauldron to drain and open its lid again.
Lief looked at the Potion which he created.
[Elixer of life]
Adds 10 years of longevity to the consumer.
(This recipe has been lost for exactly 64,723,219 years.)
Due to it being an ancient recipe its effects will be doubled.
(Will add 20 years longevity to consumer)
During the 10(20) years, your body will not age, If you take this pill when you are 20 you will stay 20 for 10 years.
This potion will NOT make you younger.
"..." Lief stared at the description in shock, will the other four he's going to make have the same effect?
He was planning on using one and selling the other three... He would have charged 100 gold per potion but now it would be worth 200 gold! That's a total of 600 gold, or in silver 600,000!
Lief calmed down relatively quickly, he would have to think of how to use this kind of money to make him stronger faster. He has seen many people higher levels than him, it bothered him a lot more than it should.
Since Lief was a child, he has always enjoyed learning, he read a lot of books, watched an uncountable amount of memory crystals and most of all learned many skills, when Lief first lost these skills he was upset but, after thinking about it he became happy.
He is able to learn it all over again, this time he can see his progress in the art clearly, perhapse he will even learn more skills than before!
Whilst Lief was thinking about learning new skills a small notification popped up.
[You have unused Skill points!]
[You have an unused Perk point!]
"Perk point?"

Un-reality, the greatest game in the century just launched and Chris starts to play it. He wants to change his circumstances, which are through no fault of his own. But fate doesn't let it be that simple. He gets a hidden unique class, but that class has a special ability, one that randomizes all his stats whenever it wants? What? The world truly can't be fair to him. Not even in a game. Now he has to figure out a way to make this odd quirk of his class work. When he smiles, the world loves him. When he laughs, the world fears him. (and that was my stab at trying to imitate those chinese synopses) Regular chapters, once or twice per week. On the weekends usually. I will finish this novel, be it takes 1 year or 2. It will get a proper ending. Afterall, the ending is paramount. Also, the readers might feel rewarded if they look closely while reading. I try to be quite mindful and put in interesting details or things that would come into play later. And, personally i think that reviews on this site might as well be pointless. Unless you know the reviewer and think that you share his views. Your thoughts on a particular thing (like a novel) can differ from others. So, do give it a try before arbitrarily deciding. This is my try to perfect the 'master of all/everything' type of MC, inside a proper, realistic VR world, from a game design perspective and immersion and no convenient 'convert gold to irl currency' button. It is going to be a game first of all. Not a fantasy world overloaden with status screens and skills you can't possibly keep track of. A game with all of the real world aspects to it. Not a cheap fantasy world with shoehorned in stats.

Hi I don't know if this is satire/ironic or not, all I know is that I've been on a Total Drama kick and I spent the last half hour sending crappy Cody fanart to my friend.
