《Tales of Idiots.》5. Questing

"So according to this map, Riverwood is part of Rustsbrough."
Drake said pointing to the map that was spread on a table. Basil was happily slurping down some meat stew, Lester had a scowl on his face as he looks at the map, and Lupin was just working on his invention half paying attention to Drake.
"Rustsbruh?" Basil asks after he finishes his stew licking his lips.
"No Basil, it's Rustsbrough brough," Drake said emphasizing the brough.
"So Rustsbruh," Basil said.
"It's Rustsbrou—you know what forget about that," Drake said. "Anyways, it seems that Rustsbrough is a small kingdom that isn't really anything special, the only notable thing about it is that has a large farming industy." Drake pulls out the guild-issued phones they were and then said, "The guide said that these phones have a bestiary in it and information about other kingdoms and empires. However, Basil and Lester need to learn how to read and write."
"Why?" Basil ask.
"Back in Bronach reading and writing wasn't very needed since almost everyone back there doesn't know how to read and to write so the bakery had a bread sign for people to know that it's a bakery and blacksmith shop had a hammer on there to tell people it's the blacksmith shop. But here in Riverwood, everything is labeled with words and you have read to get what the quest wants." Drake said and then he signs. "But we'll have to postpone it as we're low on money which is annoying."
"And we will get the money by taking on quests," Lupin said. "It's is a good opportunity to test my invention which I named the Destroyer!" Lupin held his weapon up for everyone to see. It was a rifle? Well, it was shaped like a rifle. It was cobbled with scraps of metal, nails, and bolts with parts of it coming from other guns like the barrel being from an old rifle. The ammo came from other guns and any Lupin scavenge in junkyards back in Bronach.

"Does it work?" Lester asks eyebrows raised.
Lupin shrugged. "Well, I don't know if it works or not since I couldn't test it, and going questing is a good opportunity to do so."
"Well, are you waiting let's go questing," Drake said.
*Few Moments Later*
"We'll take this herb gathering quest, this clearing the goblin nest quest, and another herb gathering quest," Drake said as he took the quests off the quest board. He then heads to the reception desk and said, "We would like to take these three quests." He points at the other three.
The receptionist took the quests, stamp them, and said, "The herbs are located at Daggerpoint Hills and the goblin cave is located at the bottom of Bloodcaws Mountain. While goblins by themselves are not dangerous they are when there are many of them and they use poison on their daggers and arrows and use traps so be careful." She then handed the quests to Drake.
Drake nodded and put the quests into his knack sack and head to where the other three were. Drake sit down and began to explain the plans to the other, "First we will be doing the herbs gathering quest since they're the easiest to. Each gives us 50 bronze coins which give us 100 bronze coins. Then we'll do the goblin clearing quest which gives us 10 silver coins and takes at the bottom of Bloodcaws Mountain and the goblins are most likely in a cave so we'll need to be careful. In total, we get 100 bronze coins and 10 silver coins." Drake then smiled. "However, we also can get some extras coins on the side."
"How?" Lester ask.
"Goblin ears," Drake answered.
"What?" Basil asked confused.
"For each pair of goblin ears, we will get 5 bronze coins if we sell them," Drake explains.
"Why would they buy goblin ears, for eating?" Basil ask.
"No Basil, it's for alchemists to use for potions," Drake said.

"Then what we're waiting for? Let's go questing!" Lupin said.
*2 Hours Later*
Whistling happily, Lupin walked out of the guild counting the coins that were given to him. "So, we have to do the goblin quest next?"
Drake nodded and pull out the map and said, "Bloodcaws Mountain is west of Riverwood so let's go there."
*At Bloodcaws Mountain*
"There! There are the goblins." Lester pointed.
The goblin was patrolling around their map which was surrounded by wooden fences, huts were in the camp with a giant bonfire in the middle with no caves nearby.
The four adventurers began to sneak towards the camp and when they were was around 10 meters from the camp Lupin loaded his gun and aimed it at one of the guards, Drake and Lester did the same with their bow and crossbow ready to shoot, and just as they were about to let loose...
*Gggggrooooowwwwws*
Basil rub his stomach and apologize, "Sorry."
"Goddammit it, Basil!" Lester yelled. Lupin and Drake try to quiet Lester but they failed. "Why did you have to get hungry whenever we're doing something important!
*Thwang*
An arrow barely missed Lester as a hit the ground. The four look up to see a goblin standing before on an outpost growling at them. It brought up a horn and blows into the horn.
"AHOOGA!"
"Fuck."
*Bam*
The goblin fell out of the outpost dead with a bully hole in its chest. Reloaded the gun Lupin, "Well, the gun work." He turns to face the other three and yelled, "CHARGE!!" He then ran into the camp. A minute of silence later he was followed by the other three.
*Bam* *Bam* *Bam* Goblins fell as they were shot with Lupin laughing. "Die you little gremlins." *Bam* *Bam* *Bam* Three more goblins fell. "Hahahahaha! This feels amazing!"
"Fuck, fuck, fuck." Lester swears as he fired his crossbows at a crowd of goblins that were chasing him. "WHY ARE YOU ALL CHASING AFTER ME!"
"AAARRRGGGHHH!!!" Basil swung his hammer sending goblins flying. After he made sure that all the goblins were dead he went to find the rest of the goblins. "STOP CHASING AFTER ME!!!" Lester ran past him screaming with a crowd of goblins on his tail. "I'll help!" Shouted Basil as he chased after the goblins.
*Thwang* Another goblin fall with an arrow in its head. Drake walk up to it and took the arrow out of its putting back in his quiver. "How annoying." He grumbled. Then Lester ran by him with a crowd of goblins after and Basil running after the crowd crushing the goblins. "This is so annoying," Drake said with a blank face.
"*Pant* *Pant* *Pant*" Lester panted. "Finally those goblins are gone."
"It's wasn't that bad," Basil said his hammer covered with blood.
"Shut up fatass." Lester weakly complained.
"Said where's the shaman?" Drake ask. "Usually there's a shaman whenever there's a goblin camp."
"You mean this guy?" Lupin asks as he threw a head down onto the ground. "I found this guy with staff, chanting before I shot him."
Drake hummed. "Now let's cut off the goblin ear to sell and use them as proofs that we cleared the goblin village."
"Reasonable." Lupin shrugged. "I am sure as happy as hell that Betty actually works."
"You named it?" Lester ask.
"Of course I'll name it. If swords can get names like Bloody Demon then I can sure as hell can name Betty." Lupin said.
"Let's just get the ears and get paid," Lester grumble. "I frankly just want to get away from goblins."
"Goblin clearing quest is the only quest that pays the most for bronze rank like us. So, we will be doing multiple of them." Drake said.
"Fuck."
