The arrival of the Guildmaster brought with it a sense of growing anxiety.

Everyone, say for the clerks who were tending to others at this moment, were in a fit of absolute silence. No-one spoke a word.

But, as everyone stared on in anxious silence, the Guildmaster broke said silence with a voice that echoed throughout the hall. "What seems to be issue Gate Captain?"

The Gate Captain, who had silently gulped, took his breath and spoke clearly and concisely. "A party of young ones left for the hilled forests to the west a day ago, and now only one comes back alive." The Gate Captain came forward and slammed his hands onto the counter, "Tell me why I shouldn't report this to the Mayor for the clear negligence on part of the Adventurer's Guild!"

The Guildmaster looked over the counter at the slumped Filius before he looked back at the Gate Captain. "Hm. Well I would be the one to report this to the Mayor as this is connected to a series of deaths that surround this very child."

The Gate Captain, surprised by this, didn't know that this child was under suspicion for the death of another party. "Then this boy must be some kind of herald of death.."

"It is certainly possible," the Guildmaster reached over the counter and picked the boy up by the scruff of his collar, "But for now we will take care of him. You need not worry about him as this is a guild matter."

"But--"

"This is a guild matter guardsman," the Guildmaster glared at the man with deadly ferocity. "Or do you think it wise to step in on guild matters when it is not in your jurisdiction?"

The Gate Captain frowned before he huffed and stomped out.

The Guildmaster looked to the hall of those that were watching the situation unfold. He lifted a hand before everyone went about their business, having returned to a sense of normalcy.

However, the Guildmaster was clearly angered by the situation and proceeded to drag the boy to his office.

Though, Filius had mentally checked out at this point. The boy, deep in his own subconscious, tried to make sense of the coming prosecution. He tried his damnedest to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but all he could see was the proposed darkness that would engulf him at a moment's notice.

Nevetheless, he was propped up in a chair that sat in front of the Guildmaster's desk.

And there was sounds of him shuffling papers, but that would quickly be succeeded by him having cleared his throat. "So, kid, looks like I was right about you."

Filius was still checked out.

"I was skeptical to think that a boy, at the age of five, was capable of killing grown adults.. But from what Arlade has told me, and now this.. It's only reasonable to assume that you're something that could potentially disrupt the status quo here.. And I hate to do this to a kid but, I've got to lock you up for a while until we can get this sorted out."

Filius sank deeper into his own mind.

"And just so we're clear, I harbor no malice towards you. This is a matter that has deepened to point that the authorities might very well get involved. So it's only safe to have you behind bars until we can determine whether or not you were the one at fault."

Filius nodded slowly, having accepted his fate at this point.

And thus, the Guildmaster personally called for two guardsmen who came and took the boy away without any fuss.

The next thing Filius knew, he was sitting in a cell with another occupant inside who was sat up against the wall in the back. This left Filius on the cold hard floor, almost dead in position.
