《How I Slayed A Dragon》Chapter 71

(Oct 21)
KABOOOOOM!!!!
I smashed through the sound barrier, creating my own sonic boom and surpassed the speed of sound.
My entire body was launched forward at a speed I’d never travelled at before, as I thrust my dragon fist forward, smashing it right into The Grinch’s face.
KAPOW!!!
At the same time that my fist made contact, my entire body jolted backwards.
When I broke the sound barrier, it created a strong air pressure that resisted against me and recoiled my entire body back. The air around me blew away, like a tsunami wave.
It’s like diving face first into a pool and belly flopping into the water, but with air instead and at supersonic speed.
I’m not sure how fast I was going, but it was faster than sound so I’m assuming around Mach 1, or maybe Mach 2. Maybe even more, I don’t know for sure, but it was fast enough to kill a normal person.
Almost as fast as The Grinch.
After being punched, The Grinch jumped back and looked at me. It was the first time someone was fast enough to land a melee attack on it.
William was knocked away onto his butt from the air pressure of me breaking the sound barrier, and the sonic boom must’ve rattled his brain a little.
However, he’s strong. He’ll be fine.
In fact, I was in a worse situation than William was.
After eating two spice pills, my entire body was subjected to agonizing pain as if I were burning in fire… but then I ate a third one, which only amplified it.
It was so intense, that the pain started to flicker on and off like a light switch. At one moment, I was in extreme pain and then suddenly I couldn’t feel anything anymore.
This would repeatedly cycle over and over.
My brain was going haywire. It couldn’t keep up with all the nervous signals telling it how much pain my body was in.
But forget about the pain, even if I had an iron will with absolutely determination, I still wouldn’t last long as my body was being destroyed.

After consuming the third pill, my insides heated up to a point where it started burning the flesh inside of me.
My lungs filled up with the smoke from my burned insides and my eyes started reddening and teared up.
Blood also leaked out of the pores on my skin, however since it was so hot, the blood would evaporate into a red mist that floated around me.
The human body is around 60% water but the moisture in my body was slowly decreasing, and the water percentage level must’ve dropped by at least 10%.
How I didn’t die at that moment, I do not know. I’m surprised I’m still alive. I guess my regeneration and dragon powers must’ve kept me alive for a little bit longer.
The Grinch was just staring at me from afar, not moving an inch.
It was cautious, not afraid, but cautious.
This entire time, The Grinch was enjoying itself. It was attacked by these weird flying magic projectiles, that did scratch The Grinch a little, but they were harmless.
The Grinch was simply too fast, nothing here could’ve possible been able to injure it… and yet I was able to match its speed and land a hit.
It didn’t know what I was. How I managed to hit it. Where did I come from? Do I pose a threat to it?
This is what I assume The Grinch must’ve been thinking, but based on what I see, it seems to be true.
After a moment of silence, The Grinch moved and lunged at me.
Since I took a third pill, dragon’s mind was even more powerful now and I could see it’s movements clearly.
As it swung its massive claws down at me, I launched a supersonic upper cut right into its shoulder
KABAMMM!!!
My attack didn’t do much damage, but it did cause The Grinch to jump back again.
I had landed a hit on it once before. The Grinch must’ve thought that maybe…. Just maybe… that the first time that I landed a hit, was just a lucky strike.

However, with me blocking it’s attack again, it confirmed that I was not only able to see its speed, but also react to it as well. It wasn’t a fluke that I managed to land a punch.
Regardless, even if I was able to see it’s movements and attack it, my body wouldn’t have lasted even a couple minutes more.
I had to keep standing strong though.
The only reason The Grinch observing me was because it was cautious, it didn’t know what I was or the extent of my strength. If it knew that I was weakening by each passing second, it would no longer have anything to fear and would just go for the kill.
I was in a dire situation. If I kept standing, I would die from the pill overdose, but if I fall, The Grinch will kill me.
And just as it seemed hopeless, a small glimmer of hope appeared.
A cold icy feeling suddenly filled my chest, as my body started to cool down instantly.
“Anthony… you took a third pill…”
William from the sidelines realized the condition I was in and casted a powerful supporting buff spell on me.
With his aid, it put an immediate halt to my body’s deterioration and allowed for my body to slowly adapt to the changes happening without being destroyed.
It still hurt, and my body wasn’t in good condition, but I wasn’t being burned from the inside out anymore.
Several seconds ticked by… no one moved.
The more time passed, the more of an advantage we gained. With each passing second, my body regenerated a little more and I would adapt to my new strength with the aid of William’s spell.
Reinforcements should also be on their way to lend support as well.
But The Grinch wasn’t standing there doing nothing, it was gathering energy.
It seems like… The Grinch was becoming serious?
All the fur on its body stood up and stiffened like a hedgehog as its claws grew even longer.
The Grinch bended it’s back down low in an arch as all its muscles bulged.
The Grinch started to glow…. its body was releasing enough energy to make it look as if it were glowing a bright green color.
And how could I forget its madness filled eyes.
Every single little movement it made, is etched into my mind.
‘Seems like the waiting game is about to end…’
As The Grinch was gathering it’s energy, I too prepared myself.
I flexed all the muscles in my body as my armor tore off my body and a fury of magic washed over the entire cemetery.
Scales appeared all over my skin, acting like a thin layer of armor as my eyes turned into slits to increase perception.
For the first time ever, I had activated my dragon combat mode.
My hands turned into dragon claws, my teeth sharpened like a shark and 13 dragon missiles appeared behind me.
5 dragon’s jets were also created on my body, one on my ass to propel me forward, one on each of my elbows to make my punches even faster and strong, and one on each of my feet to speed up my leg movements.
With the dragon jets activated all over my body, it’ll increase my speed even further and make all my attacks more powerful.
I was a living rocket. The only thing capable of matching The Grinch’s god speed.
Both The Grinch and I bent down at the same time, as the ground below us shattered in a million pieces.
All my dragon jet fired up instantly, releasing dragon essence behind it like a rocket engine.
A thunderous roar shattered the air as both of us went airborne.
-----DADBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM-----
At a speed fast enough to smash through the sound barrier, creating several sonic booms… The Grinch and I charged at each other like bullets clashing.
