《A Curious World》Chapter 2: The World We Live In
Advertisement
This world is ruled by magic. Magic is the primary driving force behind everything in this world: Construction, Travel, Production of Food, Military Power. Simple firearms are used in combat, but they’re almost worthless in a war involving Mages. A basic wizard spell could deal the same amount of damage. An Archmage could decimate a Kingdom or two single handedly.
The people of this world go through an Awakening Ritual when they reach 13. This ritual determines their aptitudes towards the various forms of magic: Fire, Water, Wind and Earth. These are the primary elements of magic, however, there are secondary elements such as Lightning, which is made from the combination of Fire and Wind.
I ask my mother about my aptitude:
Fire: 32
Water: 20
Wind: 51
Earth: 15
A score of 70 is sufficient for one to be called a genius, 1 in 10,000 people. While the prodigy of our era, the Crown Prince, wields an amazing 81 points on the Fire Element. Truly a broken character. The average would be about 50 for common folk, and 60 for nobles. SO as you can see, I’m absolutely terrible at magic.
I should touch my body later to check if there’s some cheat I unlocked from transmigrating over.
After some hours pass, my mother finally leaves me alone to rest. I ask a servant to bring over some magic books from the library. Afterall, it’ll be weird if a noble house didn’t have a library, right? There’s no language barrier, so I immerse myself in the reading.
Magic in this world is performed through stimulating the mana particles in one’s body before guiding it outwards, imagining the element you want to use. Once the image is clear in your mind, you chant the magic formula and guide the mana particles according to the formula before releasing it.

There are ranks to mages, you start as an apprentice, climbing from Ranks 1 to 4 before finally becoming a Class 1 Mage. Only when you reach the level of a Class 1 Mage, are you formally recognised as a Mage. The highest level in known existence is Class 8, also known as a Grand Sorcerer.
The highest Class within our kingdom is the king, who is a Class 4 Mage. A Class 4 Mage may be low when compared to the high existence of a Grand Sorcerer, however, there are no living Class 7 and Class 8 mages.
A Class 4 mage is a rare existence in the world, the records show that in a past war, the King emerged during a crucial moment, casting the Rank 4 Great Spell Meteor, destroying more than half of the invading troops. This resulted in a quick loss of morale for the enemy Kingdom, and we swiftly took victory.
I’ve been told by mother that I would be on rest for the next few days, but would need to return to school next week. I can’t say I’m too hyped on the idea of a 25 year old man going to a school filled with 14 year olds kids. Shit, I hear the police sirens ringing already, “I-I’m innocenttttt!”
That aside, I’ll need to learn as much as I can during this period of absence, it wouldn’t be good if any of the previous owner’s friends figure out I’m an imposter. I will need information, a lot more of it.

Roots and Steel
Hunters wait all year for the Festival of Knives, when they put their skills to the test and claim new ranks with every monster they kill. Trapped helping the family business instead of pursuing his own career, Trellin has never been allowed to participate. But when he risks expulsion to sneak out and claim a kill beyond his rank, his hunt is spotted by a senior guildmember. Rather than turn him in, she offers him a chance for freedom: Join her, and sail to the distant isle of Deldynne to compete in the bloody race for the rank of Guildmaster. If they can kill the monster that calls Deldynne home before the other teams do, he'll soar to new heights as apprentice to the leader of the Hunter’s Guild. But if they fail, neither will leave that island alive. Roots and Steel is a Monster Hunter LitRPG series.

Just Another Isekai
Daniel, a moody college kid hates his boring mundane life. He hates his stupid family and his stupid world preferring the fantasy worlds in video games and books instead. Luckily for him Daniel has been summoned to the forgotten world of Utradem. Finally he will get to live his isekai dream! Utradem is a forgotten world for a reason though, and his summoners have there own plans for Daniel. This is my first time writing and I am mostly just doing this to pass the time. Expect lots of mistakes and wierd/ improper formatting. My uploads will likely be inconsistent at best (going to try and update on wednesdays and fridays). The chapters may also be edited as I go along. That said I hope you enjoy and any feedback is welcome. Forced Development (What does it truly mean to live a fulfilling life?)
To get things started I would like to admit that this story does not bring much new to the table when it comes to the over-saturated Litrpg genre in terms of things like mechanics and power systems. Then what exactly am I trying to bring to the table with this work? A nice slow-paced novel about people maturing and growing older think of it as the re: zero or jobless reincarnation of Litrpgs. A story that tries to take into consideration how a worldwide system would affect the economics and culture of a world. A story that is much more character-focused than the typical heavy progression-focused novels this genre is known for. The RPG system, like any good power system, is there to actually explore the themes of the story and not just as a plot device for characters to get stronger. This is a story where we will see the growth of the Mc from being a baby to when he dies of old age. With plenty of heart-racing actions and intriguing plot developments along the way. Exploring themes like; What does it mean to improve at something and what does it mean to mature as a person? How does magic, the constant threat of monsters and people so much stronger than the average joe that they can destroy countries affect one's culture both on the micro and the macro scale? How people are affected by the culture in general? Generational trauma Nature vs Nurture Talent vs hard work What is morality, society, and people's opinions on both? What does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be alive in the context of a world with multiple sapient species vastly different from one another in basic biology? All these questions are going to be explored from multiple angles using the system as a catalyst for those discussions. So if any of does questions sound interesting to you what are you waiting for, I'm sure you are going to love this story. PS - Chapter come out every Friday at about the same time.
