"Ye...YES!!"
Leo was surprised... he didn't know what to think anymore.
A chance to get out of this horrid place was what he wanted most. He wanted to meet his family members again, eat something beside mushrooms, feel the warmth of the sun.
All of this was taken because of some bandits. And living for so long has given Leowald time to think about what he wanted to do.
'I will be able to live like a lazy asshole.'
The old man moved his head in disappointment. Somehow he was able to guess what Leo was thinking, but this time he didn't "tapped" Leo on the neck as always.
He faced Leo and said."There is a way out of this forest, do you know why me and little foxy is immune to the spell to some degree?"
"Because you have lived here for 50yrs?"
This time lightly tapping on Leo's head, Daikran replied."No you idiot!! do you still believe that bullshit..... Don't answer!!"
After contemplating about the Young prince stupidity the old man started again.
"The little fox is a forest spirit and forest spirit have strong soul power, that makes them immune to the spell spread over the forest......."
Leo nodded this time, he has long ago assesed that the little fox was a nature spirit.
"what is soul power?" interrupted Leo.
"That's not important now... what's important is that, there is a way out."
"What do I need to do? Do I need to kill something?... or find something in the forest?"
Leo was not stupid.... if it was so easy to get out of this forest!! the old man wouldn't have kept him in the dark..
Living with Daikran for 4yrs has made Leo trust him, more than even his mother. And Leo was a mama's boy, so it was a big statement.
Daikran seeing the expression on Leo's face, Daikran got happy. Even though Leo acted like he doesn't care living his whole life in the forest, Daikran knew that it was tough for a pampered young man to live out his life with an old man in a forest.

Daikran got up and looking towards Leowald.
"Follow me!!"
Daikran started to move towards his garden with Leo following him.
When leo reached the garden, in the center of it was something Leo has never seen.
In the center was drawn a big magic circle with sticks stuck in the cornors forming a pentagram.
"Sit in the center!!"
Leo followed Daikran's command and sat up in the center of the circle.
Daikran stood beside Leo's back, while deeply looking at him.
"Now take off your shirt!"
'Has the old man gone gay?'
*Bam*
Daikran skillfully struck on the Leo's forehead, not disturbing the circle in the least. But as for Leo.
"OWIEEE!!!" Leo rubbed his head while lightly cursing at the old man. Daikran ignored his rambling and placed his hands on the back of Leo.
And started to chant words in unrecognizable words..
"~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~...." as the chant continued to grow louder, the strange tatoos on Leo's body started shining and the place where Daikran placed his hand started to glow with white light.
'It hurts... but this sensation sure is soothing.'
As the chanting grew louder, the face of Daikran went pale. Many times he was on the verge of fainting, but he didn't stop.
And Leo, unimformed about this kept his eyes closed feeling something in him grow stronger.
As the ceremony continued, the stick that were stuck in the soil lit up at once and the magic circle started releasing green energy that was floathing towards the place where Daikran has placed his hands on.
The wind started to pick up for the first time in this dead forest, but Leo didn't flinched.
Something told him if he moved from his place, he may lose the chance to escape this forest.
By now all the tatoos on Leo's bodies were shinging white light, His silver hair had golden hue unlike his mother.
'Night elfs sure are wierd.' daikran still smiled and kept glaring Leo, it was as if he wanted to draw a picture of the young boy.
After 5min the lights stopped... the sticks burned out and the wind died.
Feeling a bit pain in the head, Leo opened his eyes.
"Geezer.... was it succesful?"
No reply came.
Turning his head around, he found Daikran on the ground, his face didn't had any blood in it... his eyes were murky and taking heavy breath.

"Old man!! Old man what happened?"
Leo got scared.. he got on his knees and took daikran head on his lap.
The old man opened his eyes and looking towards Leo.
"I did to you......what she did to me!!..... now you have a chance ....out!!"
Daikran's voice was fading by the second, his breathing was ragged.
Seeing the state Daikran was in, leo cried, tears were starting to rain down from his eyes.
"But....but you said we can get out!!"
Removing the tear with his hand, Daikran smiled one last time.
"Take my ring... it will keep away those undeads... and as for my body.. bury it here!!"
Saying his final goodbyes, the old man closed his eyes. Leo didn't shouted. He kept staring at the dead body of the old man that saved him on multiple occasions and didn't ask for anything.... He even gave up his life for giving a chance to Leo to go out.
Tears kept streaming down his face. Silently even the little fox showed up rubbing his head against Leo's body as to console him.
After 2 hours, Leo got up and started to dig a grave in the only garden in the forest... He didn't hurt any plants in the process, he remembered how the old man cared for these plants.
"What what is this?" removing away the tears with his hand Leo looked towards the grave he had digged.
in it were the lowere part remains of what looked like woman( For the decaying cloths), as if coming to a understanding, Leo stopped digging.
He filled up the hole and started to dig adjacent to the body of the woman.
He didn't thought about the remains of the woman. He understood that it was because of her, that the old man took his time here.
After burying Daikran adjacent to the lady, he got a=up and got iin a prayer posture.
"Thank you for taking care of me all this time.... training me.... feeding me(even though I now hate Mushrooms)... beating me when I did naughty things.... saving my ass everytime........*cough*..*cough*.."*Crying*... for the first time.. Leo cried, the fox has long ago climbed in Leo's shirt.
It kept consoling him, but as the tears started to rain down, they didn't stop until Leo's tearducts dried out!!"
After crying for more than an hour, Leo got up from the garden and started to do 13day mourning... only eating boiled mushrooms as food
( usually used algae and fungus to add taste to the soup)
All this time, He didn't converse with the little fox. he wasted his day away sitting in front of Daikran's grave.
On the thirteenth day, Leo was still sitting on the ground, suddenly his body jerked and he opped his eyes.
"Thank you!!.... I am going to go now!!"
He got up and went inside the tree house to pack up things for his departure.
He looked towards the bed, on it was the ring daikran had left for him.
He took the ring and wore it on his index finger.
There was a symbol of church on the ring.
"The old man belonged to the church?"
As he was staring at the ring, the ring shined and became dirty and ragged.. changing it's appearance.
Leo flinched... he struck at the ring on his finger... after thing for a while , he send his mana in the ring.
To his surprise the ring also had dimensional storage... though it was not big... but it was filled with vials and books of various kinds.
"I need to know what he was doing here..."
He didn't gave the vials any thought... what mattered to him the most was the books present in the ring.
After packing his stuff, Leo looked towards the little fox that was tucked away in his shirt.
"Will you come old friend!!" Leo didn't know.. but he has taken some of daikran habits with him... they will be shown in his furute adventures.
Though he still hasn't exited the forest yet.
"Kyu!!" the little fox nodded!! it was happy that Leo asked him to go with him.
Even though forest spirits don't leave their forest... this place was not fit for anything to grow.. and if not for the wonderful effects of the treehouse.. the little fox would have died long ago.
GIving a last look towards his home for 4 yrs... Leo departed with a fox tucked in the front and a sword on his back.
"Goodbye!!"

Lost Things
"In this disordered continent, where everyone seeks to be the heroes of their own tales, there are still some rooms for smaller stories to breathe." "Past, present, and future—keep your eyes open, and see where they lead you to." This story follows three housemates’ lives: Carson Calding, Virgil Barion, and John Salore—onto their adventures of finding Carson’s past, Virgil’s present, and John’s future. Despite their clashing backgrounds and circumstances that forced them together, they’re definitely going to find the things they had lost, for sure. Each entire chapter will be updated biweekly. There'll be three smaller parts per each chapter. Note that this story was written to be an interactive one, with polls at the end of each parts deciding on what happens next. Though, the polls for this story won't be available on Royal Road updates. (I also upload this in Arcane Odyssey forum, and it's currently the only place where I open the polls and use the poll results from.)
