《Child of Terra》Chapter 23- Grandma

Later that turn, the Ageless in his crimson vest and trousers waited at the main door to the Midnight castle. To his immediate left was Sarah, of whom wore her standard outfit of a one piece dress that changed colours as often as her hair and fur. Within her arms, however, was an excited Nox who was dressed as his father was, and wiggled his hind end as his tails blurred all over the place under her arms.
Yes. This was accompanied by a few excited whines on his part, whilst behind their persons stood Sia and Shauu. Of whom wore their snow white robes, and carried in their arms the twins Maya and Mia, as well as the Arachne Anasi. These children wore a standard aray of white robes for the girl-children, and a crimson coat which stretched over the back of his abdomen for the other boy-child. For he could not wear any form of leggings, as the hairs upon his spindle-like legs were far too sensitive for such a sensation.
In any case, the group were outside awaiting the arrival of the God King of the Azzarathean Pantheon. Of whom was invited to the Midnight Castle for, among many things, to visit her grandchild. Yes. She did enjoy spoiling him greatly, and would oftentimes bring a toy or three for him to enjoy. However, due to the fact that she was from a Pantheon of Gods and Goddesses who were more inclined to stab one another in the back, his parents would often confiscate the toys to make sure they were safe.
One of which was a small, box the size of the child's body with many buttons in the shape of animals upon the surface. When one was able to figure out the puzzle, however, it unleashed a vortex which sucked the unfortunate being into the Abyss. Yes. You can imagine the expression the Goddess Queen had when she found out its use. Even more so was the Ageless, who simply grinned and tried to send it off to a more annoying God. However, he was thwarted by his wife almost immediately, and had it destroyed.
Returning to the present, from a distance away from the main door was a portcullis which held a large, oval portal that held the image of Terra's main capital of Necropolis. Yes. It was guarded on both sides, which was more of a caution towards Nox, who had long ago ventured outwards and caused quite the stir within the city. However, at that time, there was a ripple within the oval's surface. One that signified the advancement of something coming through.

Of which came in the shape of a carriage that was being pushed and pulled by a small team of four half naked, muscle-bound Wolfmen with fur the colour of straw and earth. These were the direct servants of God King Azazel, who tended towards such servants. Especially when they were alone, away from prying eyes.
This was enough to cause Nox to perk up the moment he saw such a sight, and struggled greatly in his mother's arms with a great many mewings as the carriage drew closer. For the meant that his own grandmother had arrived, and he desired to be by her side as quickly as possible. However, just as he was about to escape from her grasp, the Ageless did walk over and lifted him into his arms. Whereupon the child calmed himself down, but still wiggled his hind end and whined at the approaching beings.
Who then parked the carriage in front of the few steps leading to the castle doors, and, as one, the Wolfmen did kneel upon the side closest to the family which looked an awfully lot like living steps. This puzzled them for a time, even as the door opened to reveal a vermillion coloured interior with a small girl-child in a flower-pink dress which was a little like a robe with a large sash in the centre. Of which was called a Kimono in various circles, whilst the Ageless often called it a "waste of materials", when one desired to create such a thing.
As to the features of this God King? Well, she was child size, to be honest, and had a head of fluffy, silver-white hair which shimmered and shined under various lights. Her skin was a pale alabaster in colour, which was as such due to her own whim, and nothing more. Whereas the stature of her person was the size and shape of a girl-child of twelve cycles, with a button nose, small mouth, and large, silver coloured eyes. Yes. This was also due to her whim, as well as a way for her to travel unseen amongst many a crowd within her own world of Azzarath.
"Grandma!" cried out Nox, who slipped from his father's grasp in order to bound down the steps, and leap into the arms of the awaiting God King. Of whom caught his small body in order to hug and cuddle with him for a time. Whereas the child nuzzled against her neck, and licked her cheeks as his nine tails blurred with excitement. "I missed you, Grandma," he mewed softly as his back was rubbed by her right hand.

"I missed you, too, Nox," Azazel giggled absently with a small smile, as she lifted him away from her for a moment in order to examine his person, "Did you get bigger when I wasn't around?"
"Yep," his eyes closed as he wiggled his lower end, then stretched forth his paws towards her person for another hug. Of which was given to him, as she ascended the steps in order to stand before Sarah and the Ageless.
"Hello you two," she gave her small greeting, then waved at the Chosen who were carrying the other three children. Of whom were quite confused at the appearance of the little God King.
"Who's that, Aunty Sia?" wondered aloud Mia who pointed a paw towards Azazel. Her own ears were perked, and eyes widened as the attention was focused upon the Goddess before them. Yes. Her own sister mirrored the actions of the other, and added a tilt of her own head towards her left shoulder.
"That's the God King of Azzarath, Mia," replied the skeletal Wolfwoman with a soft voice, "She's Mistress Sarah's mother, and an ally of the Ageless."
"Ooh," the twins' own eyes widened greatly at this revelation, whereas Anasi simply nodded whilst his arms were folded over his chest, as though he knew such a thing all along.
"But I thought only boys can be Gods, and girls can be Goddesses," chimed in Maya as she thought for a moment.
Whereupon the Ageless did turn towards her person with a small smirk upon his lips, "Well, you see Maya, a 'God King' is only a formality, a title if you will. In essence, the name is simply there to distinguish one's self above all others." However, his explanation went right over their heads, as they were still children and did not yet understand anything he had just spoken of.
Which, in turn, caused Anasi to speak up with, "Anyone can be a God King, Maya. Doesn't matter if you're a girl or boy."
"Ooh," she nodded her head, finally understanding what the male Kitsune was speaking of.
"Yes, well," sighed Sarah, who began to usher everyone inside, "Come along everyone. Dinner will become cold if we stay outside for too long."
"What's wrong with staying outside?" asked Azazel with a curious expression plastered across her face. Of which was mirrored by Nox, or at least, he tried to mirror it, "It is quite lovely out here, and has a feeling of openness to it."
"This is due to the fact that the Midnight Castle is within its own pocket dimension, dear mother-in-law," spoke the Ageless as he was led inside by his wife, "You should know this by now."
Of which caused the boy-child to giggle in the small God King's arms as he pat her right ear as a way to admonish her person, "Silly Grandma."
"What is on the menu today?" she asked slowly, trying to dodge her grandson's paw that was swiping at her person. Of which turned into a game for him, as he giggled and did his best to pat her ear. This turned out to be rather troublesome for him, for just as he missed her ear, the sides of his muzzle was kissed repeatedly.
Yes. He did enjoy such affection, and had a way to combat such kisses by licking her lips with a wet, pink tongue. This, in turn, caused her to sputter a few times, before resuming trying to kiss his muzzle. However, as all things must go, it came to an end when he crowed in triumph at patting her elusive ear.
"I win," he mewed joyfully, and was rewarded with another hug before being tickled by a free hand, "Nyo!" his laughter filled the hallway, causing those within earshot to grin, laugh, or giggle as his voice soon echoed throughout the castle proper.
