《Child of Terra》Chapter 20- The Surprise

Soon after lapping around the pool for a time, did a pair of Elvish hands reach in and pull out Nox. Of whom squirmed for a moment, as the slightly cooler air struck his body. This was then replaced by a warm towel which absorbed the moisture attached to his fur and skin. Leaving him extra fluffy, and one of the Elves commented how it made his appear as though he were a black marshmallow which floated around their heads.
"Muu," he grumbled in response to their words, and flailed around in order to try and remove such thoughts from their minds. However, this action merely caused them to coo at his person. Of which led to him puffing up his cheeks, denoting to all of his pout.
"Aww, poor little Nox," chuckled one of the females, who then tickled under his chin, and laughed lightly as she noted his left, hind leg twitched in response, "Just need to get you into your clothes, then you can leave, okay?"
"Okay," came a mew from the child, as they pulled out something like an old styled tuxedo. Of which contains a white button-down shirt, a crimson red bow tie, a dark coloured jacket, and the same dark coloured pair of pants. There were a pair of shoes that went with the outfit, but due to the fact that he always chews on them, they were tossed out.
After being dressed in such an outfit, did Shauu come to collect his small person in her arms. Whereupon they, along with Sia, did leave the bathhouse with a pouting Nox. Once there, their bodies turned towards the direction of the dining room, as it was nearing the time for dinner. For his belly grumbled loudly, and his eyes turned towards their persons with enlarged pupils and ears pressing against the top of his head.
This led to a few soft whimpers, which were laid to rest once it became apparent that they were journeying towards such an area where he would be able to eat. Yes. He did calm down, but couldn't help, but become slightly confused as to what had occurred throughout the whole of the turn. Such as the dining room doors being closed, which never occurred before; the fact that his mother was torn between staying with him and returning to wherever she came from; and the fact that he was now in a tuxedo which was reserved for special occasions.
Although it was rather confusing to one such as he, he could not dwell on it for long. This was due to him not being able to piece everything out as quickly as the young hybrid would like, as he was still very young with a brain that was still growing. "Muu," came a sigh from his throat as his forepaws rubbed the sides of his head. Of which drew the attention of the two Chosen, who simply pat his head whilst telling him that it would not be long before he could eat.

After telling him thusly, did they round the corner which led to a slightly ajar door leading into a room devoid of light. Not only this, but there appeared to be some hushed giggling. Of which sent the child's fur on edge as he shivered from the unknown sounds. Yes. The Chosen did hear this, but paid little attention as they journeyed onward, opening the door, and entering, much to the dismay of the child in their arms.
This then led to hundreds of little candles, which floated about the ceiling, to flare into different colours. Yes. It blinded the occupants for a time, but the moment they were able to see, Nox was greeted by over a dozen faces of Arachne, Kitsune, Wolf, and metallic fur. Each grinned broadly as they shouted, "Surprise! Happy Birthday, Nox!" To which the young hybrid did bawl, as their surprise scared his little mind and heart greatly.

"See? I told you this was a bad idea, Sarah," sighed Sakura, as she swatted the Goddess with a semi-wet kerchief that was used to dry the eyes of the young boy-child in her arms.
"No hitting Mama," mewed Nox, who then swatted the overly large chest of the female Kitsune. Of whom wore a tight fitting outfit which looked as though it would break open, revealing everything, if she took in a deep breath.
This led to him having his head pat, as he was placed onto the ground where he was immediately tackled by the twins, Mia and Maya. Of whom wore white dresses to the party, and were already stained with a variety of sauces, grease, and drinks. For children will always be messy, so long as they stay as children. Of course, they did wrestle for a short time. That is, until the Ageless appeared and placed the trio into a ball pit. Whereupon they did chew on the brightly coloured balls whilst tossing a few at one another.
However, this did not last long, as Nox was hungry, and crawled out of the pit in order to scamper over to one of the tables carrying food. Which led to him staring at the object, that was wreathed in a white, silk cloth, with ears flat against his head and a whine in his little throat.
Almost immediately after the first whimper was released, did his father appear, scooping the child up into his. Whereupon they did hug for a time before the youngling demanded food for his belly. To which the Ageless did chuckle softly whilst lightly scratching the back of the hybrid's neck. He was rewarded with a soft pur, as the other leaned into such scratchings whilst they moved over to the table. with the plates, napkins, and silverware.

Once such things were gathered, the male Kitsune then placed his son atop his own head, where he began directing the older on what sort of foods he was to pick out for himself. Most of the items chosen were meats and sweets, such as a roasted Helioraptor from the wilds of Anak'tun, and some sugar-candies from Azzarath. Of course, such a plate of food did draw the eyes of Sarah, who berated the Ageless for only dishing out these two items for their son.
"Now, now, Sarah," grinned the God King, "It is his special turn, after all, so allow him at least this."
The Wolfwoman puffed up her cheeks at this, as she stomped her clawed foot down, and stomped away. For she knew that he would argue the point even further, discrediting her person even more if she decided to press on. Though, after tonight, and everyone had departed for either their own worlds or beds, would she have him to herself. Where she would exact some sort of revenge against his person.
In the meantime, both father and son did share a look as the other stomped away, and laughed softly. Yes. The melody of their voices did reach her ears, but it only fueled the fire which would be released later and away from prying eyes. Whereas the other two simply moved off to the side where the twins and Anasi the male Arachne did sit at a small child's table, waving at his person to join them. Of which he did so, but only after watching as his father took a small piece of the raptor from his plate, popped it into his own maw, and walked away.
"Muu," flailed Nox as his eyes bore witness to such an affront to his grumbling belly. Of which caused the Ageless to laugh and pet his son's head, before leaving him alone with his little friends.
"Happy birthday, Nox," mewed Mia with blushing cheek fur, as she pushed a small box wrapped in blue and pink rice paper. Yes. Such paper was edible, as they had found out long ago, but he did not wish to eat such a thing at that time, and instead tore away the paper to reveal a box of translucent glass. Inside it, however, were pennies of copper and silver, whilst atop the present was a picture of all four of them sleeping inside of what is known as a hammock, which was slung between many of the branches of the hybrid's favorite tree.
This led to him standing from his spot at the table, walking around it, and giving her a fluff filled hug. Of which caused her face to heat up, and her tails to wag in every direction as he spoke aloud, "Thank you Mia."
"Y-You're welcome..., bu-but it w-was f-f-"
"It was from all of us, Nox," finished Anasi, who slowly, properly, at the food upon the plate in front of his person, "The box is from Mia, while Maya and I scrounged up the copper and silver pennies for your to use whenever you're allowed outside."
"Huh? Outside?" The hybrid's head tilted to one side as this was asked, whilst his ears perked up, "Papa said I'm not allowed to go outside without an adult."
"Not that outside, Nox. I meant Terra. Whenever you're allowed to go there, you can use that as spending money."
"Oh." This came out as a heavy sigh, along with a memory he would very much like to keep buried. Of which led to him shaking his head and body quickly, just as he sat back down at his spot within the table to eat.
However, after a short time had passed, and with only half his plate finished, was he lifted into the air by his mother, Sarah. Of whom tickled his sides so that he squirmed and giggled greatly from the actions, as he was taken to a high chair next to a wooden cart. Upon the cart was a large cake in the guise of what appeared to be a smaller version of the Oak tree he so loved.
At the top, which was visible to his person even as he sat down, were nine candles with ruby coloured flames. Each one represented a cycle he had lived through, and was customary that he make a wish before blowing the candles out. Yes. These wishes came true, as his own father would make doubly sure that such a thing came to pass, no matter what it was.
Which led to the child to wag his nine tails all over the backside of the high chair, as he took a breath and spoke aloud, "I wish..."
