《Child of Terra》Chapter 16- Open The Gates

"State your business, or we will attack," called out a bug-man atop a large wood and stone wall that looked more like the entrance to a highborn's house within the world of Sol'Anon. To the being's immediate right stood the Mother who was carrying her squirming children, Maya and Mia. Of whom were trying to peer over the large, wooden spikes which lined the outer portion of the wall.
Whereas down below, the carriage of iridescent colours slowed to a halt whilst its guard of one hundred Living Armour stood at the ready with shields raised and weapons pointing outwards. Though most of the weapons were spears, which were pointing towards the wall of odd bug-men, those with swords grouped closer to the carriage which held its precious cargo. Whereupon one of its windows were pulled down to allow a small, wolf-like creature's head to poke out.
Yes. A few awed softly atop the walls, but stayed at the ready due to past experiences of beings trying to use an adorable creature to gain entry. Whereupon those individuals did wreak havoc throughout the complex for a time until they were eventually caught and executed for such a crime against their persons.
In the meantime, this little creature stared about the wall as though searching for something or someone. Of which it did so, as the eyes fell upon the Mother and her twins, whereupon it did shout with an adorable voice, "Hi Ms. Sakura! Hi Maya! Hi Mia!" All the while it did wave one of its forepaws in a frantic manner.
This caused the trio to jump, their own ears to perk, and eyes widened as a magnifying spell was cast by the Mother. Who then did point it at the carriage and individual who waved at their persons. "Nox?" she muttered softly, as the spell revealed the small hybrid down below.
Who then turned back inside the carriage, vanishing for a time, but something was slowly opening up the opposite side of where the child poked his head out. Of which caused quite a stir, as the Spartan Living Armour did retreat backwards in order to hold out its right hand whilst bowing slightly. This was done so, so that the one within could exit without much worry.

"Who could it be?" muttered the Mother slowly, as she turned her spell towards the opening, magnifying it greatly so that it revealed every little detail of the Living Armour and the clawed hand of whomever it was that laid upon the other.
Whereupon she did gasp quite audibly as Sarah, the Wolfwoman Goddess, fully exited from within. She was wearing her standard, one-piece dress which became a different colour every moment, just like her waist long hair and soft fur. In her arms, however, was the nine-tailed hybrid who shouted up at their persons a few moments ago, and was now staring directly up at their persons.
"Nox!" mewed the Mother's children, as they came to realise that he had come to their home, instead of the usual where they came to his. Of which caused their small bodies to squirm and writhe as they sought to join his company, as opposed to staying in their family's own. This led to them finally breaking free, and leapt from the wall, much to the despair of their mother and her subordinates. Of whom gasped loudly as they fell... slowly to the ground.
Yes. The small twins that leapt from such a high place, fell slowly to the dirt road below. Whereupon they did shake their small bodies quickly, and scampered off to join Nox and his own mother. Of whom allowed the young hybrid to play with the two girls amongst the feet of the still Living Armour who had yet to relax their positions of preparing for combat.
Whereas the Mother and those surrounding her did not understand what was going on, but instead of trying to figure it all out on their end with random speculation, she did something which shocked many of the guards and ninjas. "Open the gates," came her mutterance, of which caused many of them to turn towards her person with curiosity, "Did you not hear me the first time? Open. The. Gates."
This led to many shouts of, "Open the gates," as all within tensed whilst the children were scooped up as the Living armour relaxed somewhat. Afterwards came their slow march into the complex whilst keeping close to the carriage, and to Sarah as she deigned to not enter it once again. Opting to, instead, walk inside whilst stretching her legs from such a long ride as the children being carried by her nuzzled into her fur, enjoying the smells she exuded.

However, the moment the party entered the courtyard, which was the receiving area for a large amount of guests, did the Mother invite only her person to enter the first building. Of which was used as a waiting area for those who desired to speak with those within the complex. Although the children were not allowed to come with their mothers, they did not seem to mind, and instead pulled Nox away so that all three of them could play until it was time for supper.
Of which they took this opportunity to scamper off towards a small Koi pond nearest the twins' shared room. This caused the small hybrid to become quite curious as he stared at the odd orange and white fish swimming around without a care in the world. However, as he was staring at them, Maya was using this opportunity to rush his person with the intent of pushing him in. Unfortunately for her, he turned around just as she darted by, her digits just barely brushing his back, as she fell into the pond with a small cry.
"Huh?" the sound of splashing caused Nox and Mia to turn towards the pond, where they found the other twin floating on her back with her cheeks puffed up at the failure of her plan.
"Muu," she exuded, slapping the water's surface in a small effort to drench the pair as they trotted over to the edge of the pond with perked ears and widened eyes. However, such a thing fell short, but caught the attention of the Koi. Of which slowly pushed her small body over to the edge, then rocketed her out with pressured water shooting from their mouths. Whereupon she did yelp out in surprise, and flailed her limbs as the kit's small body collided with the pair.
This led to many yips and barks as they play-fought one another, whilst that which caused the Koi to act as they did silently left the area with a small chuckle.

"So that's it, huh? Another purge of the Pantheon?" rhetorically asked the Mother as she sipped a small mouthful of an amber liquid from a china cup. Of which contained a tea called Chai, one that causes the body and mind to relax after a long day of stress. It was one of her favourites, and a cup was passed over to Sarah, who gave her thanks, but did not touch it.
The pair were sitting, crossed legged, upon large cushions which were atop mats of woven straw and hemp. The room itself was open on one end in order to allow the light breeze which blew through the mountains to enter the entirety of the building. Whereas the rest of the room had walls tan and white walls which were paper thin. As a matter of fact they were each made as such, and were coated in fire resistant wax, as well as were protected against burning by way of magick. Which simply meant that the walls, even the building itself, could catch fire, but would not necessarily burn.
"Yes," replied the Goddess of Iridescent Colours whilst she glanced around the room with some curiosity, then muttered half to herself, "I don't see why the Ageless dislikes this place so much. It's rather peaceful."
"Your tune would have changed if you were here more than a thousand years ago," muttered the other before taking another sip, "Our world, under the rule of the Humans, was not as wonderful as you may believe."
"What do you mean?" Sarah's head tilted off towards her right shoulder, her ears perked in an effort to catch all of the words the Kitsune would speak.
However, she would only be met with disappointment, for the Mother simply grinned as she drank the rest of her drink, pouring herself another cup. "You should ask your husband, Sarah. Or perhaps read the book called Sloth, because it is quite detailed and portrays our histories with great accuracy."
