《Child of Terra》Chapter 7- The Laws of Terra...

High above these new beings, and plastered up against the window, was Nox. Of whom stared down at their persons with widened eyes whilst his nine tails wagged all over the place. Once they vanished from his view, did he leap off the ledge with a few yips, and scurried quickly over to the nearby banister. Whereupon he did spy the newcomers, who were escorted into a large room that was used for those who had business with the castle's residents. However, most days it was simply used as a waiting room filled with sweets and refreshments.
This led to him whining softly when he noticed what had happened to the new people that garnered his curious gaze, and could do little, but wait. Of which normally took nearly a turn, and he wanted to know what they were, why they were here, and if the female would like to play. However, before he was to do much of anything else, a pair of blue, clawed hands reached down and lifted his small form. This led to him squirming around for a moment, before realising who it was that picked him off the ground.
"Mama?" he mewed softly as he turned to find the Goddess of Iridescent Colours smiling down upon him. Of whom then nuzzled against the left side of his neck whilst he hugged hers. Upon parting, but still in her arms, he did point towards the room which held the newcomers, "New people, Mama."
"Yes," nodded Sarah, "but why are they hear when the Ageless is not?"
"Papa's here?" The young hybrid's eyes widened whilst his ears perked up at the thought of his father returning earlier than usual. Of which then drooped as his mother shook her head slowly whilst he released a noise which constituted as a pout by his standards.
"You know he has work, Nox."
"Yeah," whined the other, as his body flopped against her own, but perked up and waved his arms in the direction of the waiting room, "Can I play with the girl?"
This query caused the Goddess's own ears to perk up as she cocked her head towards her right shoulder whilst her eyes narrowed a bit, "What girl?"
"She's in there with a grumpy king," he exclaimed, wriggling free from her grasp, and leaping to the floor below. Whereupon he did reach the banister and waved his right forepaw towards the room.
"Grumpy King?" she asked slowly, not at all sure of what to make of this, "Why is he grumpy?"
"I don't know, but they're funny. Their skin changes colours, and they have these horn thingies on top of their heads." To which he proceeded to splay out his forepaws along the sides of his head in an effort to mimic the horns he had seen atop the pair.

"Hmm," hummed his mother as she tapped her left foreclaw against her muzzle, "Well, shall we go see why they're here?"
This caused the other's head to whip towards her person, who then beamed down upon the child with a bright smile. Whereas he simply yipped for joy, running around her person whilst shouting, "Thank you, thank you, thank you," repeatedly.

"Father," whined Pricilla as she lounged against one of three sofas in the center of a bland room of white and shadows, "why must we wait for so long? Surely this 'God King' has enough time to see us, even for a few moments."
"Pricilla, my dear," spoke her father slowly as he took up a golden plate in order to place a wide variety of foods atop the surface. Once he finished gathering the many different foods, did he join his daughter by sitting across from her person in order to taste the various items he had gathered. This, of course, led to the other to join his side, and pick at the various foods whilst he frowned at her person. Which led to a few short instances of him patting her hands away from what he had already claimed, and directed her towards the long tables full of such foods. Whereupon she did huff and billow her cheeks as she made her way towards the area, created her own platter which mirrored the other's, and sat down upon the sofa she had lounged upon in order to try out the various foodstuffs upon her lap.
"As I was saying," coughed Otuul as he watched his own daughter pick at, and try out, the various items he had picked at and tried out only moments ago, "We are very lucky we were not barred from the door, and invited into the castle proper."
"Yes, but the metal woman told us that it was in vain. Why are we here if she allowed us in anyways?" spoke the other with a half full mouth of food, which spewed out a little as her mouth opened to speak.
This caused the other to sigh, but only due to the fact that she spoke without swallowing her food, and not from the more obvious point in fact. "We simply need a way to contact the God King, if he is not here, because we have no other way of contacting him.
"Tell me something, Daughter," the King's eyes narrowed as he voiced these words, whilst the pigments within his skin grew dark and brooding, "Have you noticed anything out of the ordinary when we journeyed to Terra? Of this God King, I mean."

"I'm not sure, Father," her right forefinger tapped against the side of her mouth as she contemplated this inquiry for, but a moment before popping in a brown sphere, the size of a large bead, into her mouth. Of which caused her own colours to become warm as she experienced the pleasurable sensations of the food.
To which the other sighed, "There are no sculptors lining the streets, no temples dedicated to him, and no one praising his name, if he has one, in the streets when they speak. The only thing we've found was an image of his visage in the Temple of All Gods. Why do you think that is?"
"I don't-" began the other as the door to the room they occupied slowly, and in walked a pair of individuals they had not seen before.
The first was of a Wolfwoman with fur colour that was ever changing, as was her hair, eyes, and one piece dress. This being stood at a height of one point eight five metres, in their eyes, and wore a string of lightly coloured pearls around her neck. If this one had appeared upon their own world of Venyr, she would have been captured and auctioned off to the highest bidder almost immediately.
As for the other, the King's eyes narrowed a little as his own pigments grew darker, but suddenly brightened with shock whilst his eyes widened. For behind the Wolfwoman was an odd little wolf-like creature with nine, bushy tails upon its backside and wore a pair of crimson trousers. Upon their own world, if a creature held more than three tails upon their body, they were hunted down, killed, skinned, and dismantled, as everything upon their person was used in nearly everything. From alchemical potions which had the ability to lengthen a person's life up to an extra hundred years, to food dishes which gave a lesser boost in longevity.
What is more, the last creature to have nine tails appeared approximately twelve hundred years prior to them joining the Pantheon of Terra. Whereas those that had more than two tails were killed off not long after the birth of his daughter. Which simply meant that the little creature before them was a rarity of a rarity, and he desired it for himself. However, once his gaze fell upon the female with ever changing colours, he knew the other had somehow read his thoughts and was none too pleased with his person.
Pricilla, on the other hand, had crouched down in front of the wolf-like creature, and was utterly smitten towards its fluffy form. "Aw," she cooed softly, gently reaching out to pet the small head, "You're so cute."
"I know," smiled the creature, which startled the pair enough to make the king nearly jump out of his skin, whilst his daughter fell upon her hind end.
"Wh-what?" she exclaimed, her skin a bright white from shock.
"I said I know I'm cute," spoke the one before her, as its tails wagged slowly in nine different directions.
"Amazing," spoke King Otuul, whose eyes widened greatly as he stared down at the creature before him, "to be able to speak is truly remarkable." Which led him to glance towards the Wolfwoman before him, "Are you willing to sell it to me?"
"What?" she growled dangerously low whilst the smaller tilted its head towards the right shoulder , "Why?"
"Please," he began to rummage around his sleeves and inner pockets, searching for something whilst she reached down to hold the smaller against her person, "I will give you anything for it, as it's a rare specimen that has never before been seen."
"Father?" called out the girl-child, whose skin was the colour of frost as she shook from the dangerous aura that permeated the room. Of which came from the female before them, whilst the king was oblivious as he continued to rummage through the many pockets about his person.
"Think of what we could make with its fur, flesh, and organs," he mumbled slowly as his fingers came upon what he had been searching for. To which the king pulled out a large sack filled to the brim with gold coins from his land, "Here, this is all I... have... with... me?" It was here that he noted the dangerous feeling coming off in waves from the Wolfwoman in front of him, and lost all colour in his body.
Which led him to shaking greatly, as the door, walls, and ceiling fell away, revealing a great host of Living Armour pointing their weapons towards his person. Each of them held a pike or bow nocked with an arrow aimed at the region his heart was in. What is more, the area which supposedly contained the eyes of the armour were glowing a bright red, as a haunting melody echoed throughout the space they were in whilst a chant from an unknown language whispered in their ears. This drudged up the memories of the "Massacre of Three States", and caused him to moan a low, "No," as their words reached his ears.
"The Laws of Terra must be obeyed..."
"They. Must. Be. Obeyed."

Forest of Teeth
She woke up in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by gray trees with crimson leaves. She couldn't remember her name, or how she got there. In fact, she couldn't remember much of anything. But, one way or another, she was going to find out. That said, she was going to start with the little things. 8 72The Joker, The Trickster, and the Magician
Wolfram Sakimoto, an infamous criminal, was about to be executed in a secret military facility only to survive by a sudden earthquake that struck the whole world and turned it upside down. With the appearance of strange and absurdly powerful monsters, humans started their final struggle to survive this tragic calamity. Wolfram, however, found joy and not despair in this drastic change. A lunatic on the loose, without any morals to uphold, only his thirst to battle the strongest. PS: This story has a relation with RE;Hell Gate and Once Human, Now a Parasite. The Protagonist is eccentric, to say the least, so don't expect any heroic dude. He can be a madman and a hypocrite, if that is not to your taste, then this isn't a story for you.

8 179After the End: Serenity
We all want to believe we are heroes of our own story - unless we want to be the villain, of course. At the end of everything, the Final Reaper decided he hadn’t been a hero. Driven by a desire to right the wrongs he was subjected to, he killed everyone who wronged him or his people - which turned out to be everyone that wasn’t killed by someone else first. He'd won - but it was a hollow victory. Eventually, Order’s Voice found a way out. If the only existing being would agree to give up most of his power, the Voice could reset the multiverse to an earlier time with a few minor changes. Of course, the Voice couldn't ask it that way. It could only ask if the Final Reaper was willing to start over from when Earth was first brought into Order. It was an easy decision, and yet it wasn’t. Was he willing to go through eons of pain again to not be alone? Yes. In a heartbeat. Not that his heart beat anymore. Now it would. Perhaps he could even be a hero, this time. When he landed in his old body - more or less - on Earth, the Final Reaper once again became Thomas. He was both and neither. He needed a new name for a new life. Serenity. ------------------------------------------ While this is technically a System Apocalypse story, it's a System Apocalypse that is designed to have a large percentage of the population survive and prosper. There are a lot of problems that come with the appearance of the Voice, and it's entirely possible to lose. Earth has some special opportunities, but also special challenges. The first time around, Earth won the first round and lost the second. Serenity has ten years from when the Voice arrives to prevent that from happening. It will be a group effort; Serenity can't win alone - which is difficult for someone who's been alone for as long as he has. Of course, that's only his second priority. ------------------------------------------- Updates Daily A note on the nonhuman lead tag: He isn't human, and hasn't been human for a very, very long time (or maybe not long at all, depending on how you count it). He still thinks of himself as human, either way. The content warnings are mostly to give me room to write; this fiction is not intended to be edgy, but once in a while a character will swear or someone will get seriously injured. The cover image is a Chandra/Hubble composite image of VV 340 / Arp 302 / UGC 9618. While we're not going to space itself any time soon in the story, people from elsewhere are coming to Earth and Serenity will visit other planets. Plus, I like space imagery. 8 505Killing Roar: Part 2: Mortal Mewling
Part 2 - Mortal Mewling: Perry's been living his dream in the guard, fighting spike feeders, proving himself to be a valuable member of the community, but his many concerns linger, weighing him down with more questions and regrets. The strange event within the dungeon. The rise of the prey-movement. The critical mass of spike feeders looming around the corner. Part 1 - Killing Roar: When Perry was blessed with a platypus beast soul, he thought his chances of joining the village guard were over. No one had every heard of a platypus. It seemed like an obvious prey soul, given it wasn't in the village's records. Only the strongest could be part of the village guard. He thought that would never get the chance to defend the village from the spike feeders, the deadly creatures jutting out with hazardous spikes haphazardly all over. Only predator beast souls were given the requisite training and allowed to join the village guard. Perry just didn't meet their criteria. He was also wrong.Soon Perry will live out his wildest dreams and more, as he scales the rankings of beast soul mastery, fights innumerable dangerous spike feeders and solves mysteries related to the origin of beast souls and spike feeders. And maybe, just maybe, he'll even get to join the city guard. Genre-wise, Mortal Mewling is a GameLit story (light on the GameLit) focused on action and adventure. The Gore tag is there more as a precaution, rather than a promise to keep producing gory words. Mortal Mewling is a bit of a slow burn in terms of start, scale and capacity of the protagonist. Book 2... has now begun! Updates Monday and Thursday
