《Child of Terra》Prologue- The Hunter

Upon an unknown plains full of tall grass which are able to hid three-quarters of a normal person's body was The Hunter. One that was slowly stalking his chosen prey, which was in the shape of a small, white rabbit that had chosen to nibble on a few wild vegetables that the other had left for such creatures.

The being who hunted this unsuspecting rabbit was a hybrid-like creature. The mixture was of a wolf and a nine-tailed fox, in that he held the physical attributes of a wolf, the nine tails of the fox, and a combination of the pair for the head. Not only this, but the fur was the colour of endarkened shadows, as was his own eyes during this session of the hunt. Else such a thing would be a more sleek styled darkness bespeckled with silver which mirrored the night's sky above. However, such a thing was not very helpful for The Hunter, as the moon above was full, and cast its radiance upon the ground. Therefore, he would need to be extra careful so as to not lose the next meal, and have to rely on others for scraps.

For the time being, he slowly moved silently through the tall grass towards that which was considered as prey, with only three of the nine tails sticking straight up as they normally do in these types of situations. The shadowed creature did not fully understand why these three were always up, but paid little heed to them as his body slowly parted some of the grass stems in order to allow himself to leap onto a large boulder nearest a much larger oak tree. Whereupon he nearly rubbed his body against the main trunk, and shook itself.

Of which was almost as costly as the rubbing, as the small rabbit's head lifted itself into the air in order to rapidly sniff a strange scent. However, and much to The Hunter's relief, the creature went back to nibbling on the food left out for itself. To which the other gave a mental sigh of relief, then moved across one of the many long branches with practiced ease, where he did search out a branch which overlooked his next meal.

Within a few long moments, the hybrid creature found exactly what it was searching for, and moved carefully, gracefully towards that which would offer himself the perfect place to set up an ambush. Whereupon he did brace his body in a pounce-like position with the body and tail hanging low. For his body to wiggle from side to side slowly as its pupils did widen greatly in order to see more of the world and to predict the best place in order to pounce upon the next meal.

However, the little rabbit did take note of the sudden shift in the atmosphere, and slowly tilted its small head up towards the branches above. Whereupon it did spy The Hunter with widened eyes, squeaked greatly, and turned its body to flee in a random direct so long as it was not towards the other. This action did cause the other to growl as his body shifted in order to pounce quickly.

"Just as he did so, the world around 'The Hunter' changed after he leapt from his branch and down upon the terrified rabbit shaped biscuit, from drab and dreary colours to a more somewhat colourful one under the moonlit sky. Where it perished under the body, claws, and teeth of the one who desired to fill their belly with the soft flesh," chuckled an ocean-blue furred Wolfwoman in an iridescent coloured, one piece dress. Of whom sat upon a small hill overlooking the tall grass and tree where the small hybrid creature came trotting up to the female with the "dead rabbit biscuit" in its jaws.

It was here that the size difference between the pair was apparent, for the hybrid creature was child of the female, of whom allowed the smaller to crawl into her lap in order to enjoy the spoils of its hunt. Whilst the other simply smiled and hummed a light tune.

"Mama?" mewed a soft voice, one that came from the one within her lap.

Of whom turned her head to look upon the other with an expression of love for the other, as he held up a small paw with the rabbit's head in it. Within the centre of the biscuit was a red jam made up of small fruits found within her more personal garden. "For you," his voice was full of excitement as the other lightly plucked the head, and placed it into her own maw. Whereupon she did lightly chew it in front of his eyes, and swallowed it completely before he turned his own attention back upon the rest of his biscuit.

This was then nibbled upon slowly whilst only stopping in order to lap up the red jam which caused his expression to become filled with joy at tasting the sweetness of the mixture. Of which only seemed to enhance the flavour of the biscuit itself, and caused his person to giggle as the sensations of joy made his small body shiver with delight. Even going so far as to cause the fur of one such as he to fluff up considerably. The action, of course, caused the female to hug her son close to her own bosom, which the other was unamused and merely desired to eat his treat.

Once the treat was gone, and the crumbs found completely, was the little hybrid fox-wolf lifted into the air as the Wolfwoman stood up, and giggled at the gesture. Whereupon she did hold him close as her body turned, and sprinted behind her person. Which led to a sight of one they were well acquainted with, as a castle of shadowed stone appeared before their eyes. One that led to a sizable garden full of blossoming flowers of silver and gold that only thrived under the moonlight, and within the presences of those who lived within.

For such a place was called the Moonlight Castle, and was the home of a male being known simply as Ageless.

As to why this being was called as such was due to his own race, for it was considered to be a God amongst Gods if one were to become such a thing. Yes. The child within the arms of the Wolfwoman was this being's son, and the female his wife. Of whom were called Nox and Sarah, respectfully, and were quickly travelling towards the structure, as they knew the Ageless would be returning soon from his daily tasks of running a Pantheon of Gods.

Yes. The Ageless had such a thing, as he was the God King of the Terran Pantheon, and his favoured world was, in fact, called the same as the Pantheon. Terra.

For now, though, the pair quickly passed by the flower beds, where a few of those lucky enough to serve the King, Queen, and Prince of the Gods and Goddesses did wave or kneel low to their passing. Whereas Nox did try to wave at a few of them, and giggled as he noted a few waving back. Whilst the other simply ignored their presences entirely, and focused solely on the fact that it was nearly time to meet her husband. Though how one was able to tell the time in a realm where it was perpetually midnight was besides the point.

Oh yes. The area in which they resided within was a pocket realm that only allowed the God King, his family, and a select few to enter and leave at any given point. For all others were not allowed, and will never be given permission unless the God King wills it so.

In any case, once Sarah and Nox entered the castle from a pair of glass-like double doors, they were met by a cadre of four-armed, skeletal and metallic beings wearing only a thick, snow-white robe about their persons. Of which were only five in number, and all were female.

"Lady Sarah," curtseyed a metallic, skeletal four-armed Wolfwoman, "Everything is-"

"Hi Aunty Sia," waved Nox as he reached out to her from his position within the arms of his mother, "Up-up!" Of which he was rewarded by the other, and lifted high into the air before being lightly hugged by the female.

"Aunty Shauu," he then cried out with glee, and stretched out his arms towards a four-armed, metallic Bear Beastwoman, "Up-up!" Of whom then lightly hugged his person just as the first had done so. This, in turn, would be repeated until he was back within the arms of his mother, but was soon placed upon the ground. Whereupon he did waddle up to Shauu and tugged on the hem of her robe just as his mother was being led away towards the baths so that she may become more presentable for the Ageless.

"I caught a rabbit," grinned the child, who went on to describe, with great exaggeration, as to how he was able to take down such an elusive creature. Of course, he never made mention that it was a biscuit, but for some odd reason, they all knew it was so. Which then only confused his mind greatly.
