《Stardust Universe》Chapter 1.5 - Yumiko - Community Work

So I went and did it again. I murdered that little girl. I believe that was the 5th time already. Geez, this will be over way too fast if she keeps fighting like that. I thought that idiot would already teach her something about combat already. But I guess, he still haven’t considered of helping her out yet. Not that I care much about it.
With all have been said and done, I really should go and turn myself in to the academy’s board of director. I probably am going to have some kind of punishment for this. I mean, I killed a person. But she’s kind of different. She can revive herself. Although it does take some time but she’s still alive. I really need to at least give that little girl a chance the next time I see her. But I’m not going to easily give her the win just like that. I’ll still going to punish her as much as I like. I really shouldn’t have killed her that fast to begin with.
-
Glad that was over. Hearing them babbling on about unnecessary thing was tiring. So what kind of punishment do I get for this? Community work. They asked me to become a cleaner for a week. This was different. Usually it’s not that long. The shortest I get was cleaning off a whole building. Now I’m going to be one of the academy’s cleaner? A nobody? Did I really just fell off from the map of the academy? I just hope no one notice me. This uniform will at least make no one notices me at all.
“Is that you Yumiko?” a female called me.
Great. Just as soon as I thought about that, someone had to appear. I really don’t want anyone seeing me like this. Especially this one girl…
“Why, it is you. So, what is it this time?”
I grumbled, “It’s nothing important. I’m just being helpful, Sam…”
Sam Maximus, this tall redhead is kind of the most important classmate in my class. She’s the 1st semester's Cardinal of Magic Administration. In other words, she was like my class monitor. A pretty decent person. In just a few days after registration, she already declares herself as the rightful Cardinal for our class. There were others who wanted to become Cardinal as we had to decide through voting. But there is one problem; we don’t know each other yet. It’s only been a few day. So the only way for us to wisely choose the next Cardinal was through hearing a speech from each candidate. Long story short, Sam successfully hooked the majority of us to vote for her. I wonder if she was from a special family.

“Hey, Sam. I was wondering. What kind of family do you have?”
“Family, you say?” She smiled, “I do have a family but not my blood family. I’m an orphan. My relatives took me in. As much as it pains me to know that I have lost both of my parents, you don’t have to be pity over me. I get this kind of questions all the time and I wasn’t with my parent for a very long time already. So it’s okay.”
“Is that so?”
I never had any intention of giving her any pity despite her story. But her resolve made me thought otherwise. She’s mentally strong. And not just that, she’s also a brilliant wizard. She has one of rarest magic ability known to mankind. The ancient ability to order people around. Her version of it is called, Absolute Order. Once she casted this ability to a target, her target will immediately have to follow everything she wishes until she feels that it was time to let go. She’s like a King. But the difference is, she’s not as tyrannical as I expected. Given her ability was ordering people around and such. She rarely uses her ability. That just makes her more intimidating and scary to be honest.
She reminded me a bit of White. Though, I’m not quite sure if I’m even able to notice his ability. I really need to ask him about that. If he ever wanted to give me a straight answer that is.
“Well, Yumiko. I hope you don’t end up falling much further than what happened with your title.”
I almost forgot. Her tongue can be very sharp at times. In a way, she just picked me off with what she said to me just now. What’s going on was that I used to be one of the class’s Trinity. The Trinity is the top three students in a class. The Cardinal doesn’t count because they already have a higher title. After the event that happened on registration day, my title was immediately dropped by the academy’s Board of Director. I’m now the infamous Fallen Trinity of Magic Administration. At least I now have a better sounding title thanks to White. But this kind of thing still pisses me off. Not just that I got a slight demotion, my face value also degraded down thanks to him.
“Look what we have here…It’s the Fallen Trinity, Yumiko.” Then suddenly, a group of people approached us. It was my classmates.

“Well, well, well.” I crossed my arms and said, “If it isn’t Emillia and Mimi? And looks like Lucky is here as well. What brings you here?”
Emillia responded, “Nothing much, we’re just gloating ourselves to you who seems to be cleaning around the academy compound. So you have met the new member of Trinity, I presume?”
I looked at the only guy presence and said, “Yes, I know Lucky. Congratulations.” I said that out loud but deep down inside I’m super pissed.
“The pleasure is mine…” Lucky bowed down. “You must have fallen so far that you are now sweeping down your own people.”
“What exactly are you talking about, Lucky?”
“Trash. Aren’t you a trash?”
Sometimes I just want to see them burn and suffer. But before I was able to do anything else, Sam intervened.
“Alright you three, we’re having an emergency meeting tonight. Meet me at one of the gazebo tonight.”
“Okay then, Cardinal.” Mimi answered for them. “See you around, Yumiko.”
And then they left.
“What was that all about?” I asked Sam.
“What do you mean?”
“There was a lie in your words. You can’t trick a trickster like me.”
Sam gently laughs, “Let it just be known that I somehow saved your ass, bitch.”
Did she just say what I thought she said? At first I was a bit unfazed by it because I didn’t realise it. But once I gave it a little thought, she just insulted me by calling with something only degenerates would be labelled as.
“Oh well. See you around, Yumiko.” Sam smiled, “I almost forgot, you better take care of your toy, White. Because I’ll be taking it from you soon.”
Sam walked off from me. That girl really ticks me off sometimes. Sometimes she can be an angel, sometimes she can be a devil. I can’t help it though. She has always been like that ever since we studied for about one month.
“Fools.” I laughed. “This isn’t a race to toy around with a single human. Especially a boy like him. I’m not here to make love or anything. I have my duties around here and I expect thing to be going as smoothly as I hope. Yes…just as they said…”
-
“Continue with the mission, Yumiko.” An unknown voice began talking to me as soon as I finished reported on what happened with the 'murder'.
Another voice spoken, “For now, in order to maintain yourself from being discovered. You’ll be receiving a community work punishment.”
“Yeah sure…”
“For a week.”
“Now hold on just a minute. You can’t give me that. I have other things to attend to, you know that. In fact, this job of yours that you are keeping up is way below your power.”
“Ah but an order is an order. Isn’t that right, Yumiko?”
“Stop calling me that fools. Do you want to die?”
Another voice was then heard, “You should stop being impolite to our Captain, bro.”
“I’m sorry about that. I kind of got carried away with the title that I was given by Lord Vatherion.”
“Do not speak lightly of the lord’s name over here.”
“Fine. Fine…”
I was pretty much done with them, “Are you guys done fighting like a child?”
“Not unless you want to provide us a different punishment?” Another different voice was heard.
“What do you mean?”
“What else do you think we would want from a beautiful girl like you…” the voice whispers to me.
“I’ll take that community work. Thank you very much. In the meantime, I’ll be watching over Cyclone White and his little associate, Zenith.”
“The mission is to focus on only Cyclone White and no one else!”
“Yeah sure. Whatever. You’re not even the real Academy’s Board of Director. I can’t believe you guys are just a bunch of thirsty monsters…”
I finished my report and got out of the meeting room. I opened a portal and went to my room. I sat down on my bed and sighed.
“Cyclone White. You better be prepared for the worst. This academy is currently not what it seems right now. For right now, The Third Champions of Chaos is puppeteering our own Dean.”
I got up and slowly opened up another portal which shows White in it. He was seen putting down an egg on his desk.
“And Zenith…In time the real Snow Phoenix will truly resurface deep inside herself. Just two more and I’ll be done with my ‘main’ mission. Everything for you…” I looked at White’s face from the portal, “Master.”
I closed the portal and get prepared to do community work.
