Back on the street Yu was not feeling very amused
‘Zombie-chan? Zombie-chan! Why did it have to be chan why couldn’t I have used san as the example, I blame you anime for my accursed alias!’
“Humph lousy reception, I rate them zero! No below zero!”
People around him looked at him weirdly, but who could blame, he was wearing rogue like cloths that conveyed his intention of avoiding attention but he carried a plus sized bag that looked pretty new, his stature seemed like he was hiding himself but he gave off a very arrogant feeling, and now he was shouting at the air, if you didn’t take at least one look god would probably strike you for your lack of curiosity
‘Hmm? Oh I seem to have said that out loud, crap, low profile low profile’
Yu pulled up his hoody and sped toward one of the large inns, once he made sure his stuff were well hidden within the room he started touring the city, picking up a few necessities, and some luxury items, among them was a small crossbow and four sets of mini bolts, each set had 20 bolts in them
He got himself a light set of blue joint leather armor, leather shoes, and a long black overcoat to go along with the deep blue leather vest, thus making it perfect for both sneaking and fighting
‘Okay all set now I just need a good night sleep and I can get to work tomorrow’
The sun had gone down while he as shopping, so it was due time he got some sleep, he was no warrior so his body needed a lot of time to recover, but being a Grimoire holder gave him some sort of benefits, so it wasn’t like he was normal human being
“Hmmm, these guys have been following me for a while, I don’t really want to get into trouble right now, hmm”
Yu suddenly stopped and turned around heading straight toward the three people that were sitting in one of the food stall near the armor shop he just exited from
“Hey guy! how are you doing?”
The trio seemed surprised for a bit but soon recollected themselves, before they got a chance to speak though Yu continued
“I was curious about something, when you guys follow someone do you actually try to hide yourself? Also when you see someone buying so many stuff without a care in the world does it not cross your small minds that he may not be a wastrel but did that because he didn’t give a crap about the stupid idiots who try to make trouble for him? You know wastrels don’t walk around without escorts either, whether you could see them or not, and just because someone “looks” like a rich second generation kid doesn’t mean he actually is. If you guys want my money you can come with me outside the city, and I’ll show you what a weak looking merchant like me can do”

Finished with his rant he gives the gob smacked trio a final judgmental look and walks away, by the looks of it, it didn’t seem like anyone would following him after such a bold speech let alone those three thieves
Thus a rather peaceful day passes by, the first that was fret of death for Yu since he had arrived in this world, all the result of a but a few words
Next Morning
“Argh! Let me SLEEP!”
The young man with panda eyes shouts at the morning sun seeping throw the window slits, he didn’t seem quite ready for his busy new day
“Ugh why the hell can’t I sleep; it can’t be that I can’t sleep on a soft bed anymore right?”
He spoke nonsense to himself, he had not been able to catch a glimpse of sleep all night, he tried everything, he tried not thinking, counting Adrian’s in his sleep, working out, but nothing he did made him sleep, even though it did indeed make him sleepy, and annoyed
“Whatever! I’ll go work, perhaps I just wasn’t tired enough, after all the only thing I did yesterday was shop, compared to my other days it was like taking a nap in a park, maybe my body is still tense from all the fights”
Coming up with a reasonable explanation he packs up everything and heads to the mercenary guild, as much as he wanted to avoid seeing that receptionist for a while he couldn’t help but go there to get a mission, after all it was the only branch within the city
As soon as he was inside he felt something quite different, he couldn’t quite put his hand on it but he felt all tingly and it made him want to head back to bed
‘Hmm the fatigue might be catching up but I need to work right now’ He focused his mind and ignored the pleasant feeling then walked up to the receptionist and asked her for any available mission
She crooked her head to the side for a bit before shrugging and answering him
“Dear costumer all the missions are taken right now, there are only a few higher rank missions’ that do not fit your ranking”
“What’s my rank?”
“You are ranked low Bronze, that’s the lowest of the low, and the bottom of the Mercenary Union”
Yu knew he just started so he quite naturally had the lowest rank but when she said it somehow ticked her off, still he played it cool
“Mmm okay, what about killing those bees, I heard their causing quite the trouble so I assume you got some extermination mission for them”
“No we do not have any for the Giant Bees that are in the Denatro Forest”
Yu frowned at her words “But you do issue termination missions right?”
“Yes we do”
“And yet you are leaving the bees out? Is it because the Merchant caravans would deal with them?”
“They make minimal contact with them”
“No one else is dealing with them right now?”
“Not at the moment”
Yu’s frown deepened, he remembered that this city boasted a safe trade rout, that’s why it was traveled to a lot, since no protection fee needed to be paid as such merchants found it quite profitable to…
‘No protection fee? I see, what a cunning Union they don’t want to kill off the bees since they would force the merchants to pay protection fees which would result in a long term gains, and as this continues the city would lose merchants slowly forcing the city into issuing the Mercenary union a mission to kill the bees, this way both the Union and the mercenaries would benefit’
His mouth took a sly shape as he thanks the receptionist and headed out, it was time he gave the little devil a little payback
“This is perfect, I owe both the receptionist and the bees quite the “favor” and it seems I can repay both at the same time”
He smiled evilly as he spoke to himself while heading toward the gate, but he stopped dead in his tracks after smelling something awful from one of the shops on his way
“What is that horrible smell” “It seems the apothecary was making a few concocts and they failed” “I told them to move O’l Bethna’s store to second street, she shouldn’t be here in main street scaring away the customers with her horrible toxins!” there were quite a few complains among the pedestrians and some shop owners but nobody bothers to go into the store and berate the old apothecary, after all who didn’t get sick? Someday they will need her too
“Hmm apothecary?” Yu didn’t have any need for medicine right now but his shopping addiction led his feet into the store, he couldn’t force himself to pass by an interesting shop just like that
“If you’re here to complain about the smell don’t waste my time, I’ve lived here for eighty plus years, I am not moving an inch” a hoarse yet tender voice came from the old women behind the counter
“Oh no I’m just here to look around”
“Look all you wish but do not touch”
“Sure”
Yu looked through the large circular hall, there were cabinets, plants, vases, and even small ecospheres that housed plants he had never seen before
“Did you plant all these?”
“Yes”
“Are they for sale?”
“No”
Yu’s inner shopaholic wanted him to press for it but when he remembered he wouldn’t even be able to carry such a delicate item he gave up
‘Where is spatial storage when you need it sigh’
Disappointed he turns to head out, but when he saw the old lady working on one of the bee’s stingers he curiously looked at her, then an idea popped up in his head
“Do you have anything to kill those bees”
“Specifically? No. Broadly? Any poison would do”
“Their stingers have poison too; can it kill them?”
“Of course it can, just because they make it doesn’t mean they are immune to it”
“How long does it take to extract it on the spot?”
“Varies, with proficiency you could do it in less than five seconds, but if you haven’t done it before it would take a few minutes”
“Teach me then! Il pay you for your trouble”
Finely the old women lifted her head from her work to look at Yu
“Kid this is an apothecary shop, not some civil teaching hall”
“Exactly, those people are talk, if I want to learn something I need some hands on experience, so either an adventurer that knows how to carve out the bee’s poison or an apothecary, and since the bees only recently popped up the former would be very hard to come by”
The old woman gave Yu an appraising look before she turned back to work on the stinger
‘Is it a no go? But I really liked my new plan’
“Where are you looking, keep your eyes on the stinger, I will extract the poison now”
“! Yes, I’m focusing”
“Shut up and listen quietly, now when do you see this part, this part of the stinger is called the…”
The old women continued to explain the stinger and various ways to extract it, the fastest method to cut a bee to get to it, the easiest method to crack open the shell around the stingers base, and many useful tips Yu felt he would take several hundred to thousands of tries alone to figure out on his own
After more than three hours the lengthy explanation was finely finished, and the old woman took a seat
“Okay that’s all, you can go now”
“Thank you! That was even better than hands on experience, this is going to help me a lot, how can I repay you”
“By staying alive kid now get out and let me get some rest”
“Okay~ Thanks grandma bye~”
“Just get out”
Yu stepped out of the store with a chuckle, he really liked the old granny and thought he should repay her help one day, but for now he had much bigger plans to execute, one big evil nasty plan
