*Friday*

(Erica's Pov)

"So do you want to come with me to the festival? Don't worry it's a 'normal' friend thing" He smiled

I laughed a little "U-um"

That's when I heard someone walking, I wasn't think and I just grabbed the hand of that person

"I'm going out with this kid"

"With Kate?"

"Huh?" I gasped and let go of her hand "I mean yeah" And held it again.

He tilted his head in confusion "Okay, maybe next time then."

*Two days ago*

"Can you believe that I mean oof that dog looked like it was about to bite mu ass. So I threw my phone..."

Alex was telling us a story while I was preoccupied. We were by the lockers when something fell out of mine.

The hell?

"Hey what's that?" Ichika asked

"I think it's a letter."

"Well open it." Alex urged

"It says 'Meet me at the overpass'. Is that a reference of some sort?" I asked

Alex shrugged "Who is it from?"

"It doesn't say"

"Maybe the person's challenging you to a duel." Ichika looked curious

Alex and I laughed

"Which overpass though?"

"There's one on my way home. But I don't use it."

"So you'll go there later?"

"Yup."

"Even though you don't know who that person is?"

"The reason I'll go there in the first place is because I want to know who wrote it."

"Weird flex but okay." Alex said

(Authors pov)

Erica thought about it the whole day.

She wanted to know what the letter was about and who wrote it. Hinata and Kate did not know about it because Erica asked Ichika and Alex to keep it a secret.

When it was finally the end of the day. She rushed going home and forgot about her usual walk with Kate.

"I mean she has been distant these past few days, so maybe it's alright." Erica thought

When she finally got there she saw him. They grew closer these past few months because of the different activities they had in school. She liked talking to him and he liked talking to her.

So he confessed

*The next day*

"So who was it?" Alex asked

"Just some guy"

"Uh-huh sure some guy named Sean." she said in a mocking tone

"What?! How do you know?!"

Alex patted me on the back "You have so much to learn. Did he ask you to go out with him?"

"Yes but I didn't accept it, I don't want to ruin our friendship."

"Or is it because there's somebody else you like?" She teased

Ericas face reddened "N-not at all"

She laughed, "But how did he take the rejection?"

"To be honest, I think he might be avoiding me."

Suddenly they heard Hinata and Ichika bickering about something.

"Why not? It will be fun I swear." Ichika said

"Becuase it will be filled with couples." Hinata groaned

"Of course not, and a lot of our classmates will be there too."

"Are you guys talking about the festival?" Alex asked

"What festival?" Erica asked

"The one with the fireworks, filled with A LOT of people." Hinata answered

"It's a social gathering!" Ichika said excitedly

"Ew" Alex said

This is when Hinata thought of a great way to not come to the event. "Alright I will go with you,"

"Yes!" Ichika smiled

"I'm not done yet. I will go if you manage to convince Alex to join." She laughed

"Why the am I getting dragged into this?"

Ichika did not answer Alex "That's easy, you just wait and see Hinata."

"Again, why and what?" Alex was confused

We laughed

"Where's Kate by the way?" Erica asked

"Hmm she's late again I guess." Hinata shrugged

*Continuation of that Friday*

Sean left and Erica exhaled with relief.

"I can't believe it you got nervous." Kate laughed "So he was the one that confessed huh?"

"Who t-told you?"

"Relax nobody did, I just guessed it. Why are a lot of people confessing these days." She smiled "You can let go of my hand now."

"Ahh sorry..."

She sighed "That's tomorrow right?"

"Yeah...oh did you have other plans?"

"Um not really but I don't usually go to those kinds of events."

Erica pouted

"But the others are going too so yeah sure. Be there at seven." And Kate left

*Saturday Night*

Hinata was playing with her phone when Ichika arrived. "You're late"

"Sorry, I needed to look good for this date." Ichika laughed

Hinata shuddered "Idiot...where are the others? I texted them awhile ago."

"Alex said she's with Ethan"

"Kate and Erica?"

"I dunno"

She sighed "This should be a group outing and yet the rest are not here, what the actual fuck?"

Ichika cringed "oof"

"What?"

"I'm still not used to all the cussing."

Hinata smirked at this "Well you should be because everyone here is like a fucking sailor."

She cringed again "Yeah but don't rope me into cussing."

Hinata laughed "Whatever, let's just roam around."

"Well you look nice today."

Erica raised an eyebrow "today?"

Kate teased "Yeah just for today."

She scoffed

"So what are we supposed to do here?" Kate asked

"Eat, explore the stands, watch the fireworks etc..."

They roamed around looking at different stands and wasting money. After that they sat down under a bridge to eat.

"I brought food, Takoyaki. Do you want some?"

"Ew you like those? And no I'm fine with my own food."

"Like is an understatement. I love them!" Erica stated "By the way you've been pretty quiet over the past few days. Now I just wanna know, are you-"

"Yeah I'm fine...Capsize."

"Isn't that about a boat turning upside down?"

"Mhm yeah sure"

"One more question,"

"You seem to ask a lot."

Erica rolled her eyes "do you remember the thing you said at the party?"

Kate looked at her confused while drinking her milk tea (a/n really milk tea?)

"I mean at Alex's house?"

"Wasn't that a long time ago?"

"I know but it just came to mind I guess...do you remember?"

"Hmm...Oh look it's Alex." Kate waved at them

"Yo!"

The two of them talked while Ethan sat beside Erica.

"Hi" Sa4he greeted

"Sup...so I heard something about you." Ethan smirked "he confessed huh?" He laughed

Erica slapped him on the shoulder "Oh don't be like that, you confessed to Yui!"

That was when Ethan's face was filled with horror "oh no oh no no how the hell do you know about that?"

Erica laughed "I have eavesdropping skills. Why don't you want the others to know?"

"It's a rejection no fucking way."

"Then you be quiet about mine too."

"Deal...wait you rejected him?"

She nodded

"Nice one Erica" He laughed

They high fived each other and laughed about it.

Moments later the other two finally found the them

"Where have you been?" Alex asked

"Where HAVE you been?" Hinata retorted

They sat down with each other and the fireworks got lit up. The night was beautiful.

*Back then at Alex's house*

"I can't believe you gave Yui a drink. Ugh and apparently yourself too."

"Well it's her last day." She laughed

The two of them laid down on the futon, joking and teasing each other.This was when Kate decided to blurt out something stupid.

"You should cosplay an anime character."

"Eh?"

"Especially my crush...YOU REALLY LOOK LIKE HER!"

"Shush you're going to wake up the others. Wait...what?"

She whispered "Can you play the trumpet?" She laughed

"Huh?" Erica shook her head "Kate go to sleep you ARE drunk."

"Yeah yeah yeah"

When Kate was finally asleep, one thought ran into Erica's mind "What the hell? Is Kate gay?
