"Wait at the front of the house, I have some things I have to.........." the boy said looking down at the woman.

"Ok, we'll be waiting for you," she said getting up from the bloodied grass directing her men to head outside.

They were gone and it was time to find the rest of Jason's body.

He began to look around the general vicinity within his range of sight but it was nowhere to be found.

Walking towards the left side of the house, there it was.

His small and fragile headless body laying there on the ground.

Just looking down at it made him feel dead inside.

Lifting the body into his two arms, he carried it into the house and placed it onto the ground in the center of the living room. Then he walked outside and pulled the sword out of Cornelius's chest and threw it on the ground.

He put Cornelius's body over his shoulder and Jason's head in his arms and began to carry them.

Cornelius was heavy and in all honesty, it was extremely difficult with his legs feeling as if they were going to shatter but he did not wish to drag the man's body on the ground, as it seemed extremely disrespectful.

He placed Cornelius's body to the left of Jason's and put Jason's head back at the top of the body.

Then he headed to the guestroom, the sight of Susan caused his chest to hurt so bad, it felt like if a dagger was being driven into his heart.

"Susan.........I'm sorry I was too late and allowed this to happen...............I will ensure in my life that this never happens to any woman within my reach again" he said with his voice collapsing.

He lifted her into his arms and carried her to the rest of the family and placed her on the right side of Jason's body.

Then he proceeded upstairs to the narrow corridor. The corridor was long with 3 doors to the left, a room for him, Jason and Cornelius and Susan shared the same room.

His room was the first in the line of 3.

He opened the door and calmly looked at it. To the far left were his chester drawer and wardrobe, straight ahead was his bed directly next to a window giving him a view of the sky and to the far right was a wooden tub filled with water where he would bathe accompanied by 2 small bowls on the ground, one for showering and the other for brushing his teeth and a mirror.

He took off all his clothes, threw some lavender scented oil into the water and showered quickly. Drying off his skin he put on a white long sleeved shirt which had become slightly baggy due to him losing weight, some underwear, a pair of black leather pants and black leather boots.

The metallic taste of blood was still lingering in his mouth and something could be felt between his teeth.

Staring into the mirror he opened his mouth and looked at his teeth, in between the grooves he could see there was still flesh stuck between.

He felt to vomit yet his body refused him to.

Taking a paste made from ground sage mixed with salt crystals. He put it on his toothbrush and brushed his teeth quickly, getting the flesh out and removing the taste of blood.

Then he took the sheets off his bed and headed downstairs where the bodies were.

He dropped the sheets to the ground and folded the arms of each member of the family.

Then he put the sheet over their bodies reaching neck height, mirroring a father, son, and mother sleeping in the same bed together.

He bowed down to Jason's body and kissed the boy on his forehead and began to cry with his tears falling on the child's face.

"This won't happen again," he said with his voice stuttering and crying.

After around 5 minutes he was done and had regained what little composure he had remaining.

"Goodbye, my family," he said with his voice slowly fading away.

He gave the child one last kiss on his forehead and left the house.

"Are you ready now?" the woman asked.

"No....... I need one last favor from you, cremate their bodies along with the house" he said softly.

"I understand," she said as she walked into the house.

After around a minute, she emerged and black smoke could be seen emerging from the door with fire being visible.

"Thank you," he said to her as he looked on watching the house burn along with the bodies trying to keep his tears in.

"Come now, it's time to head to the association, they're waiting for us," she said directed at the boy.

"I'm not heading to the association"

"What did you just say?" she said with a slight hint of anger being detectable.

"I need some time to come to terms with what has happened on this day, so I'll take a little time off before coming to the association," he said averting his gaze.

In the span of one day he had lost everything precious to him, she understood that it wasn't her place to force him to come with her.

"Where will you go then?" she asked.

"I don't know....... I just need some time alone" he muttered under his breath feeling as if he was being choked looking at the house.

"I understand, I will wait for you, we won't cremate Rex's body until you come, you were his successor so you have the right to be there, you know in the time that he returned to us, he only spoke of you," she said sadly.

Her eyes could be seen getting red as she spoke of Rex, she was holding in the urge to cry.

"I will be back for him............." he said sadly on the verge of tears thinking about Rex.

She walked towards her horse and pulled a small money bag out of the satchel mounted on her horse.

"There's around 2000 drachma in here, it's all I have at the moment, but it should last you until you get to the next city, Rex put measures in place for you, head to the World Bank in the next city, speak to the manager and say Rex from the Thirío association, they'll handle the rest after" she said, giving him the bag filled with money.

"You, give him your horse and sword, ride with one of the other men for our journey back" she commanded one of the men.

The man followed her orders with no hesitation and gave the boy the horse and sword. The sword was a standard longsword with a black leather sheath with leather strapping.

The boy mounted the horse and took the sword and hung it over his left shoulder using the leather strapping.

"Thank you for everything.......... I think I'll head south," the boy told her.

"South? That's for Mephisto right?" she asked.

"Yea.............theres something I need to check" he responded

"We have to go to the intersection at the Pit and then we'll split up, also the association is in the city of Orphasus, when you're ready, come find us," she said pointing at the Pit.

Looking down at the city from above the hill, he could see that the fires throughout the city had subsided and the city was painted red with blood being in ruins. Although it was slightly abhorring, it had a beautiful look to it which the boy felt deep within, refusing to acknowledge it.

"Lets go" he said, taking one final look at the burning house.

They descended down the hill and made haste to the intersection by the pit in silence with the only audible thing being the stomping and splashing made from the horses as they moved through the blood soaked streets.

As they arrived at the intersection they all stopped.

"Follow the southern road over there, its protected by magical wards to keep monsters and wild beasts from appearing from the forests,so you should be safe,it will take around 2-3 days to arrive at Mephisto, these are some of the fastest horses in all of the kingdoms, also I have some dried food here in my bag, some fish and bread, you'll need food for th-"

"No, I don't think I'll be eating anything for a while........." he interrupted her with a feeling of nausea creeping up on him as he heard the word fish.

It was the scent Rex's dead body reeked off before he had devoured him.

"Fine by me, by the way, my name is Elle Mitan, remember it," she told the boy

"I will" he responded

"I've been meaning to ask you this since on top of the hill, you don't plan on pursuing revenge do you?" she asked.

"I've been thinking about it, but I can't throw away this life that Rex and Cornelius gave me" he replied hesitantly, thinking about it.

"That's good to know, don't walk down tha-"

"Don't get me wrong, if it's within my reach, I will give the people that did this a fate worse than death," he said interjecting, giving her the same threatening look as he did back in the house.

She simply stared at him giving no response.

"I don't wish to be in this city any longer, this is where we part ways, I'll see you soon," he said, breaking the silence, riding off towards the southern border of the city leaving them behind.

When the time comes, I will fuckin destroy every single person that had a hand in this..............
