《I Was Monster Once, Now I Am Human》Pride of a Servant In This Modern World
Advertisement
While Adger and Albert, and others were having a conversation, Diana was explaining the situation to Iqbal- Iqbal still on knees, trembling, scared to lift even his head; Knowing, His life doesn't worth much in the eyes of these people who visited his cafe today. This was an inauspicious day for him.
Diana stood in front of Iqbal, as Albert asked her to handle this unpleasant situation in his stead; Looking down on the Iqbal, She says "You need to be scared; Young Master went as far to save you and yet, you act in such an unhonorable way. There is a limit how much a commoner like you can disrespect The heir of Neslete family"
Iqbal was well-aware of the situation he was in, thus, kneeling but yet, This is not enough? Do I have to cut my hands off?
"What can I do to redeem myself? " Iqbal asked- He was ready to cut off his hands if He and his friends can get out this horrible situation.
"To redeem yourself, first of all, you need to--" Diana grabs Iqbal by his shoulders and pulls him up from his disgraceful posture of kneeling. At that moment, Iqbal thought; Eh what...? she is gonna shoot me?!
"You need to stand up, and look straight when the heir of the family, my master, is talking to you. " Diana says " But that doesn't mean, you are at his level; It just to show, You are giving your utmost attention to the words he speaks "
It was strange for Iqbal to hear these words; He had heard of stories when someone disrespected a Head of the family, that person's hands were cut off with a blazing blade, to make sure, that person doesn't die from blood loss and then, he was tortured until he was dead. The manner of disrespect differs, Talking to the head of a family while looking in their eyes, not using formal speech, etc; Even the trivial mistake can or would result in a certain, frightful, death.
But what he heard were just stories...It is highly unlikely that a commoner like him will ever get a chance to meet A Head of Family in the first place. In a sense, He was lucky to be visited by not only one, but two such persons, Albert Neslete and Adger Kichiro.
Iqbal was surprised by Diana's Advice, to say the least, "Looking straight and giving my utmost attention? " Iqbal said indistinctly and quietly in front of Diana- "It depends," Diana says " In the case of my master, He's kind and forgiving- He would not want to see others suffer without any reason. Thus, he helped you. In the case of Adger Kichiro, The head of Kichiro family, As you saw, the thing that happened to your friend, Reizail, with a little sign of disrespect, he was shot. At least, you should be thankful that Adger only shot at his leg "
Iqbal looks down, towards the ground; Realizing, His friend was lucky, and luckily Albert was here to defend them. If It wasn't for Albert Neslete, It was highly likely, they all would've been shot dead by Adger's hands. I Begged for mine, and my friends' life to the person who saved us;

"I have realized; Instead of asking for his forgiveness I should have thanked him..." Iqbal said to Diana while still looking down.
Diana stares at Iqbal for a moment and then, She says " It is good that you understood what I was saying but, Keep in mind, It is only my master who's kind and forgiving; I am not. You'll be meeting The God of Death if you repeated this kind mistake ever again" Diana says " In any case, for now, Go and look after your friend, Reizail, until the ambulance arrives "
Iqbal silently walks pass by Diana, towards his friends- Diana then glances at her Master, who talking to Adger kichiro and his friends, they were talking as if nothing happened "What...what is going on there? "At this moment when she noticed Albert turning around, towards her, and heard him say "Diana, you don't need to worry about these guys"
I don't need to worry about them? She had her doubts about if she really shouldn't worry or should be worried, looking at what inspired all of this problem in the first place.
She nods her head, indicating she heard the words.
Diana glances at those three and for a moment thinks of the future with the kichiro family walking alongside her and her master-Unlike my master, right now, who seems to get along with everyone from the Kichiro family, I am not fond of them; Particularly, David. He dared to threaten master.
David, and others, halt in front of Diana. David looks in Diana's eyes and Diana's enmity towards David was apparent.
"I don't suppose we can get along well, personally. " David says while the other two stands behind with silence. " However, As long as we are on the job, Try to keep your hostility to you"
Diana doesn't respond to David's words "........" And keeps her silence.
"Anyways " David didn't wait long for a response from Diana and carry on with his words " I'll go and questions those guys for now " With those words, David started walking towards Iqbal, and Cafe's workers- As David walking pass Diana, " Don't you dare point your guns at them. My Master saved them, they are not commoners anymore. If you try and mock my master's kindness; I'll throw you back to the place you came from, Gutter. " Diana said.
David stops walking when he heard those words from Diana-
"Wow, She sure is something...to say something like this so bluntly to David" Meeya mumble to Magnus.
"Hmm, She's a hardcore servant...." Magnus responded " I wonder if Sir Albert gets night service. I am jealous. "
"You... You should just keep your mouth shut like you always do" Meeya said; Magnus doesn't speak much but whenever he says something, it is always something stupid.
On the other hand, David was rather pissed- The nerve! How's she is even allowed to speak in such a manner? But I have to stay calm. Just calm down. Calm...Down...

"*sigh* Don't worry. I am not gonna do anything to them " David said in response to Diana's words. Even though, David was angered by Diana's words; He kept his calm and didn't act out on his emotions.
When David saw Diana for the first time, standing beside Albert in a personal meeting, He didn't think much of her; She's a personal attendant of Albert? But when David threaten Albert in the meeting, He came to learn of the reason why Diana stood beside Albert as she did; At that time, I was really surprised to see a mere maid pointing a gun at me.
I felt as if she had already decided to crack open my skull with that 9mm bullet from her gun. She refused to let me go even when, Her master, Albert ordered her. I closed my eyes as she was about to pull the trigger-- I was waiting for my imminent death. I didn't have anything to protect myself with. I was simply waiting.
But in the end, nothing happened; She pointed her gun away from me and said, She will send the whole Kichiro family back to gutter if we did something to her master.
"Anything else, Diana? " David asked--When Diana doesn't respond; David starts back walking toward Iqbal and his friends.
"How's your friend's condition? " David asked, Both of them, Iqbal and Ruffle.
Ruffle had wrapped fabric on Reizail's wound--Though, Reizail was stable for now; He needed professional medical treatment and the ambulance had yet to arrive.
"uh--Hmm-He is resting. I think He's stable for now since the bleeding has stopped " Iqbal answered to David's question.
While Iqbal was calm but the pressure when someone with high standing from a family is standing in front of you, someone like Iqbal tends to be extra careful.
"Don't worry. Your friend will live to see tomorrow" David said to Iqbal and then, David looks behind his back and says " Hey, Magnus! Get this guy to a hospital. I don't think Ambulance gonna arrive in the time"
Magnus didn't question and simply came as David asked and picked up Reizail and started walking towards the exit/entrance of the cafe- Iqbal and Ruffle started following Magnus
"Hey, Iqbal...Was it? You need to stay here for now" David said-
"Okay--I understand" Iqbal responds to David
Iqbal was a little timid- He still can't help but look down towards the ground when everyone else around him is from a high status.
Iqbal was standing near the exit door; is it fine to stand here? but If I stand here they might think I could run away since I am standing so close to the exit.
What...should...I...do?
In the end, Iqbal decides, it is best to not stand close to exit- He started walking towards David; All the while David was staring at him. Iqbal halts close to the place where David was, and silently stands there.
" Why are you so scared? " David asks Iqbal--Caught by surprise from David's words, Iqbal mumbles "aha...I--m not scared.."
"Uh? "David glares at Iqbal " You sure? You are acting timid, even slightly trembling"Iqbal doesn't respond back properly and speaks a few words David couldn't make sense out of.
"Well, Adger--Boss called you friend so, you know, you don't need to be that scared. Anyways, tell me about the girl boss mentioned"
"Fenti? " Iqbal replied, "She's a kind girl who wears a smile for the sake of others. I don't know how did she managed to offend the head of the kichiro family but please, believe me, whatever she said or did, She didn't mean any harm; So, please...forgive her" Iqbal said and the fear he showed until now didn't appear in his words; For he wasn't speaking for himself but for a person, who's been nothing but kind to everyone around her.
David had realized how Iqbal spoke fluently just now. "You speak rather highly of that girl--So, why didn't try to do something when danger apprehended her? " David said-
"That!....." Iqbal says "That--She had taken a loan from the family I used to serve under; She was asked to work in my cafe only because the family can keep an eye her. When she didn't pay back, she was abducted. I don't have the strength to oppose those who have matured me to the point where I am now " Iqbal said--When David heard those words from Iqbal, He smiles at Iqbal "I see. Well, you don't need to worry about anything now that we here. Anyways, There is something I would like to ask, tell me, You didn't do anything because those who had kidnapped her were far above your league or because...." David didn't even finish his sentence; Iqbal suddenly declared " That was my family!"
"hmmm...." David looks at Iqbal for a moment, and watch Iqbal clenching his fists--"Okay. I understand everything. It is not like I don't understand where you are coming from" David starts walking towards Adger and Albert while saying responding to Iqbal " Anyways, we will occupy your cafe for a while so, for now, bear with it"
Iqbal was alone now, standing there; " I cannot point my gun at people whom I called my brother. " He mumbles-- " I am a coward"
******
While walking, David sees Diana was already standing with Albert and Adger- " When did she get there?" And it looked as if Adger and Albert had finished talking privately-- " I wonder what they were talking about" David thought.

Marrow
Marrow was old... older than me or you. Older than the nation he lived in. And older than anyone he knew. Which is not surprising, because he did not know anyone else. He had been sitting, or perhaps leaning is the more apt expression, in a closet for many, many years, and had done nothing but stare. But eating, or rather chewing, a spider opened up another world to him. A world with a voice that was talking to him - to HIM! Marrow did not get what the voice was saying, but that was secondary at this point. And Marrow started to feel restless. Nuff said. If you like a sometimes quirky skeleton as the main character and want to ride along for its coming of age, or perhaps rather coming of sapience story... give it a shot. It is a litrpg context with skills, levels, heroes and monsters... and a skeleton. Not sure yet how fast the skeleton will level... we'll have to wait and see. As a disclaimer... this is my secondary novel... my main story is ongoing and most of my time is dedicated to that. As such, new chapters will, at first, be rather infrequent and irregular. If things go well, I may shift more attention to the story, but we shall see how things go.

The False Paladin
Divine Paladins, a title given to those who were blessed with the Lord's Favor, are the pillars of the kingdom of Calorin. However, a kingdom cannot simply be built from ideals of honor and duty. Sir Roel, the 58th Divine Paladin, knows that he's no hero. His sword is fake, his actual powers are middling, and his thoughts grow more cynical with every passing day. Upon receiving his next task, an order to assassinate a member of royalty, he wonders if the only thing he can do is bow his head and obey. Set in a medieval-era world in which brute strength is often subordinate to the schemes and machinations of the ruling class, this is a low fantasy story about a hero who struggles not only against monsters but also the idea that he's supposed to be the one fighting them. This fiction updates once to twice a week and each chapter is a minimum of 1000 words.

Before I reached Lvl. 100, they called me Death God Hei. But when I broke the limit, the System punished me. It cursed me to become this monster. I woke up as a Lvl. 0 again. Dying only brings me back to a save point now. But I don't go back until I die twice. First I suffer as a human, then I hunger as a zombie. The worst part is...I still have to watch when that thing takes over my corpse. I call it the Gray. I can't do anything even when it's hunting down those I'm trying to save. Sometimes, I wonder. When I level, I swear I can hear a voice speaking to me. This thing...can it think? It's like Re:zero crossed with SAO, Solo Leveling, and Tokyo Ghoul Re:The Worst System is a dark, 1st person timeloop story where the main character is slowly driven insane by his ability to respawn at a save point. However, each time he levels, there's a possibility that the next time he dies, the zombie inside him will become too powerful for anyone to stop. So he has to level up a harem...ahem, others, to fight for him against the System. Oftentimes, Hei will get trapped in repeating death loops which are truly terrifying. You've been warned...please don't read if you're not willing to see the darkness all the way through. The light on the other side may be a long ways away...I'll be trying to post on Thurs/Sundays, but honestly, depending on how I'm feeling, chapters could come out at some wonky times.
