《Demon Forever》19- Arkul's madness
Advertisement
John Brower, the demonic sword sect’s leader, was still hiding inside the ruins. He was afraid of facing Allan’s protectors and dragon who had been trying to enter the ruins ever since Allan disappeared inside the teleportation formation.
There was a restrictive formation guarding the ruins making it so the practitioners of the /light emissary/ art were the only ones who could enter.
He had no way of explaining Allan’s absence and chose to wait in front of the teleportation formation hoping that Allan would find a way to come back.
Outside, Arkul was trying to break the restriction with the five protectors.
At first, the five protectors only waited one month before they started to worry. They then tried to force their way in. They did not succeed.
They had attacked the entrance of the ruins for days and even though four of them were gods and one a primordial god, they did not leave a single crack to the invisible curtain that separated them from the ruins.
As they were trying their hardest to find a way in, Arkul arrived with a worried face six months later.
Arkul had tracked Allan’s aura all the way to the ruins. He had been worried when he got no news of Allan.
Allan’s visit to the demonic sword sect was supposed to be a short one.
When Arkul got no news from Allan after sending a dragon warrior to deliver some soul energy crystal to the demonic sword sect, he started to worry.
He left the Ascension fire sect for a while just to make sure that Allan was safe.
After following Allan’s aura, he stumbled upon four gods and a primordial god who recognized him and claimed to be Allan’s protectors.
After learning what had happened he forgot that he was outnumbered and berated them before trying to break through the formation.
One month after Arkul’s arrival and seven months after Allan’s disappearance, the invisible curtain that blocked them showed no sign of breaking.
“Who could set a protective formation that I am unable to break?” Arkul said with helplessness.
As a true dragon, he had access to the memory pool of the entire race hidden in his bloodline. He knew that brute force would never break the formation in front of him. He then tried to break it using formations.
Nine months later, Arkul stopped trying to break the formation and went mad.
He had worked day and night for nothing.
The only thing that had changed about him was that he had broken through the primordial god realm.
He then started madly punching the invisible curtain even though he knew it was pointless.
“Sigh...it will not work. Only practitioners of the /light emissary/ art can enter. The person who set this formation was much stronger than you.” A voice said.
Surprisingly, it was John Brower who had decided to come out.
“Where is he?” The red-eyed Arkul asked.
“I’m sorry. He’s gone.” John said. His expression was that of a man who was resigned to his pitiful fate.
The five protectors and Arkul all stopped breathing for a long time.
“What the **** happened in there?” The old protector asked.
Arkul was gnashing his teeth.
John then said: “He got trapped inside a teleportation formation that lacked soul energy to complete the teleportation. I had no other choice than to use my own soul energy to feed the formation and send him on the other side. I feared that he would be shred to pieces by the formation if I didn’t complete the teleportation in time.”

Arkul then asked: “What was the purpose of you coming here?” He was happy that there was a possibility that Allan was still alive.
“We came here to explore the ruins. Only us could enter and we thought that there were treasures that would be beneficial for us in there.” John said.
“Alright...you have to bring us inside. We will use the same teleportation formation as him and see if he is still alive on the other side.” Arkul said.
John Brower shook his head saying: “I’m still a 9th tier God. I cannot bring living beings into my inner world like primordial gods can.”
“Damn it...here... I have enough soul energy crystals to allow you to enter the primordial god a hundred times...do it fast...” Arkul tossed a storage pouch towards John.
“You think I haven’t tried before? I’ve been at this level for thousands of years without breaking through. Your crystals are useless even if I use them all.” John said.
“TRY.” Arkul said. He was trying so hard not to shred John into pieces. He only kept him alive because he was their only way inside the ruins.
John sat cross-legged floating in the air and then started his attempt to reach the primordial god realm.
The soul energy crystals burned at an alarming rate, but there was no sign of him reaching the next realm.
No other cultivator could possess such an amount of soul energy crystals to use.

Inside Allan”s inner world, outside the golden palace a shadow appeared.
It was Djen in his soul form.
“After a few months, I barely managed to bring my soul into this inner world.” Said Djen while looking around.
“That palace looks exactly like that guy’s inner world projection.” said Djen as he remembered the Golden king summoning his inner world.
He was looking for any trace of Allan inside that world of light.“Where is he hiding?”
After scouring the entire world of light and failing to find Allan, he guessed that his opponent was hiding inside the palace.
He slowly and cautiously flew towards the open entrance of the palace.
When he arrived in the great hall, he was greeted by nine doors. The fourth door was open.
“I failed to destroy this inner world from outside, but my plans changed. I want to keep it and use it to nurture an army of puppets. That girl said that this body had a better version of the art she and her father cultivate. I must become the sole master of this inner world. Killing the true owner of this body comes first.” said Djen as he flew towards the fourth open door.
“I can always use a forbidden technique to open a second inner world for my needs. I trust that this body can bear the burden of having two inner worlds.”
He arrived in what looked like a library.
Countless books and bookshelves appeared in vision.
“What a weird inner world...but from the looks of it, this amount of knowledge cannot be looked down upon.” he said after seeing the titles of a few books.
They were either magic tomes or simple books about various subjects of the cultivations world.
“I reckon that if I took the time to read all of this, it would take me a few hundred years.”
He woke up from his reverie. “Right. The one I’m looking for is inside this room.”

It was too big of a place as even Djen looked like an ant next to any bookshelf.
“Strange. He should’ve sensed my presence by now.”
He tried not to release his senses fearing that he would give away his position.
After all, this was not his territory even though he had taken control of the body. He wanted to avoid a frontal confrontation as Allan was basically an immortal God inside the inner world.
He wanted to assassinate Allan by catching him off guard and giving him no time to call on the inner world’s power.
After a whole hour of searching, he found Allan sitting cross-legged in the air with a big open tome on his lap. Allan seemed to be peacefully reading.
Djen then smirked and made his shadowy wings disappear. His spectral hand turned into a blade.
He waited for a moment so he could choose the right time to strike.
He then launched himself towards Allan.
In that split second that he had to complete the assassination, something weird happened: He lost all strength and felt like he was limply walking as if he had been injured.
It felt like he was suffering like a body would when he was in soul form.
“You lost the moment I let you enter my world.” Allan’s voice was heard as he closed the tome he was reading and turned around.
“So kind of you to bring your entire soul in my inner world. If you had not underestimated this inner world and sent a mere avatar or a piece of your main soul, you would not be in this situation.” Allan said.
Djen was inwardly shaken: “No. Impossible. My soul is stronger than yours. I should at least be able to flee.”
Allan shook his head and said: “I must admit that I’m quite lucky. If this inner world or magical art that I cultivate was not protecting me, I would have long died during your attempts at shattering this inner world. I’m also wondering why you chose to enter in here instead of just keeping the body that you stole.”
Djen was now incapable of moving. “How?” he could not understand why his powerful soul could be sealed so easily.
Allan answered: “Simple. The magical art that I cultivate is not a normal one. It is connected to the law of light from the very moment one starts to cultivate it. I guess you understand what I mean. The Law seekers realm where you start wielding the law of your magical art is the sixth realm which means that it is one realm above your Ascendant god level. With that kind of firepower, your soul can be sealed easily.”
Djen then started shivering: “The Law seekers level...Impossible...How can such a thing be possible? You’re just a primordial god...”
“Like I said, the /light emissary/ art that I cultivate was made with the Law of light as the source. I can wield a small part of it to seal you. These last months, I’ve read enough to understand how this inner world works. I guess you lost the moment you came in here.” Allan said.
Allan then waved his hand and they both teleported outside the golden palace.
“I will build you your own place to stay in.” said Allan as a small wooden house appeared right next to the palace.
He then put Djen inside.
“Kill me. Why keep me in here?” Djen asked.
Allan then smiled: “If I kill you, you will just complete another ancestral awakening back home. I can’t allow that. After all, it is another life you will be stealing. Besides, I still need a teacher to teach me how to use these amazing powers that you have.”
Allan then left the inner world.
In a cave, Allan’s eyes opened. This time the black in the eyes disappeared and they returned to normal.
The black wings, as well as the black long fingernails, stayed.
As Allan opened his eyes, it’s like he was opening them to a new world. The law of space inside of him made it so he saw the world differently.
He could feel the power flowing in his veins.
He left the cave and then performed a teleportation.
He appeared several meters away.
“Not easy. It feels like this body isn’t mine.” Allan said.
“Maybe with the Law of space ignited in my demonic core, I can find a way back home. If I return to Zenith’s place and inspect the place I first appeared on this planet, I can find some clues by using the Law of space.”
“I should do my best to avoid being spotted by the heavyweights of this planet. They are annoying. The golden king alone wanted to kill me after stealing my soul energy gathering formation. Chances are that the Dark King will do the same.”
“If I can’t find a way back home at Zenith’s place, I will need a star map to leave this place. Djen can help with that, but I doubt that he will cooperate.”
“I should also avoid the Galactic Alliance. The golden king mentioned something about them despising the light emissaries.”
“I also can’t enter a human city with these wings as long as I am on this planet. I will have to wait until nightfall to move to Zenith’s temple.”
He returned to the cave and started cultivating using soul energy crystals.
“Fortunately, Djen kept all my belongings.”
His demonic core was at the 1st tier of the Ascendant God realm with the law of space ignited and his inner world was still at the 1st tier Primordial god realm.
Currently, he was cultivating his human side by fusing the god core with the inner world.

Back on Grayhell continent, Arkul was mad with anger and helplessness as he watched John Brower try to reach the Primordial god realm.
More than two-thirds of the soul energy crystals had been wasted.
The process of reaching the primordial god realm was to possess a complete god core.
Normally, the realms below the law ascendant realm were easy to cultivate if one had the required resources. Others could rely on their talent while others relied on time. Either way, it was a smooth sail from the human realm to the primordial god realm.
“You should take the rest of the soul energy crystals back while you still can. For some reason, I am unable to reach the primordial god realm.” John Brower said to Arkul.
The red-eyed Arkul looked at him then roared to the sky.
After calming himself, Arkul then turned around saying: “Keep trying. I am going back to the fire ascension sect to get more soul energy crystals.”
He flapped his wings and found himself above the clouds.
“I must make sure that he is safe... and if he isn’t...I will kill anyone who hurt him. I hope he’s still alive. Wait for me, Allan...” Arkul said.
