《Demon Forever》15- Abducted

The Golden king was sitting on his throne, his fingers tapping on the armrest.
He was impatient to hear the news that his daughter, Sun, had for him.
A red and yellowish light then appeared as Sun’s body materialized a dozen feet away from the king.
“Were you successful?” The Golden king asked.
“Yes. It was easier than expected. The complete formation was easy to learn after I comprehended the basics. There should be more to it but I think that the half demon is also a beginner when it comes to formations.” Sun said.
“Good. He is now useless to us. There’s no need to keep him alive. A Light emissary is way too dangerous to us. I sent the last one on a suicide mission because he was close to reaching the Law Seeking realm. This Allan is too weak and represents a future threat. With being a half demon, he is even more dangerous than Edward Vimis ever was.” The Golden king said.
“Father you never told me about why the Light Emissaries are so dangerous.” Sun said.
“It’s because the /Light Emissary/ art was created to allow the Avatar of the Light-bringer to come back from the dead. Our /Sun Emissary/ art was just a prototype he based the /Light Emissary/ on. If he successfully resurrects...” The Golden King said with a hint of fear in his eyes.
Sun then asked: “The Light Bringer also known as the Mad Shadow....Should the Galactic Alliance be informed of this?”
“Absolutely not. The entire world only knows that the /Light Emissary/ art chooses its master but only I know that when the ninth door opens is when the Light Bringer’s Avatar appears. He told me himself when he was alive. Inside the Galactic Alliance, I am merely a foot soldier if I am lucky. Considering the Light Bringer’s bloodline status inside the Galactic Alliance, my words will only be considered as heresy and I will die along with this planet.” The Golden King said. He added:
“His bloodline despises him but at the same time, they enjoy the riches he left them when they had him killed. What they do not know is that the Light Bringer was one step ahead of them and left these two arts all over the universe for the humans to cultivate. The Sun Emissaries like us will find it easy to cultivate to the Law Seeking realm while the Light emissaries are few and could only be counted on one hand. The Light Emissaries must be accepted by the will left behind by the Light Bringer himself to be able to cross realms and learn the various arts that come with the art. Ultimately, only one will be chosen.”
“Should we kill him now?” Sun asked.
“Yes.” The king said.
“What do we tell Zenith Vimis?” Sun asked.
“We’ll just say that the demons got to Allan.” The king said.
Sun then left.
The king remained there as he was assailed by memories of the past.
Flashback.
A man was lying in a puddle of his own blood.
He could see his assailant slipping away in the cover of the night.
He remained there on the ground feeling helpless as he was about to die.
Unknowingly, a man had appeared next to him. The man was wearing a black robe that made him look like he was part of darkness itself. His eyes looked like the starry sky itself.
The black robed man then asked the dying man: “What do you feel now that you are about to die? I’m curious.”

The dying man had just accepted his fate and was prepared to leave this world peacefully.
Now, there was a lunatic striking a conversation with him.
“I’m feeling quite generous today. How do you feel about me defying the laws of this world and bringing you back to life?
As the dying man was about to finally close his eyes, hearing the lunatic’s words, he had the thought of laughing out loud.
He died with an incomplete smile.
The black robed man looked at the dead man and sighed: “ 'What a funny fellow.' That’s the last thing you thought before you died huh?…I wonder how you'll find fun in being immortal because as funny as you think I am, I definitely find it dull to have an entire eternity to live...you have no idea how lucky you are to die so peacefully...
The black robed man then waved his right hand and a blinding light appeared and engulfed the whole city.
It was just before midnight as the city found itself illuminated under a sun that had appeared out of nowhere.
The dead man opened his eyes in a world made of light.
In the cocoon of light, he was trapped in, he could not see the world outside.
The puddle of blood had been cleansed from existence.
The wounds on the resurrected man were closing so fast that the human eye could not keep up with the speed at which he was being healed.
The body itself was being cleansed of its mortality and was being transformed into an immortal body.
His soul was being strengthened as well.
The collapsing inner world was instantly repaired and started expanding under the guidance of a magical art that had forcefully taken the inner world for itself.
He went from a frail human in the Human realm to the Immortal realm in a second.
Then an incomplete God realm core appeared until it was completed as he stepped into the Primordial God realm.
The God core started fusing with his inner world until they were one.
He became an Ascendant God.
His progress seemed to stop there.
The light around him was absorbed by the weird golden palace inside his inner world.
His eyes then turned to look at the black-robed man who had a smile plastered on his face.
The resurrected man then realized that he was levitating in the sky with the black-robed man.
The black robed man then asked: “How do you feel now?”
The resurrected man then said: “Why bring me back? I wanted to die.”
The black robed man was surprised by the absence of shock from the man. He said: “I did it because I wanted to do it. If you still want to die, you can shatter your inner world and die...If you happen to want to live, know that I personally ignited your law of light. You’re a 1st tier Ascendant God now. You will become stronger and reach the Law seeking realm in just a year but any further progress will depend on you. You are now my emissary as you cultivate my /Sun Emissary/ art. What will you decide?”
The resurrected man was having many thoughts crossing his mind.
After a while, he sighed and said: “What am I going to do with all this power? No human has ever reached the law seeking realm before.”
“On this planet, no human has ever reached that realm. You will be the first. Don’t you want revenge?” The black robed man asked.
“The man who left me for dead was only a human thief. I feel like I’d be bullying him...I feel lost with all this power...” The resurrected man said.

“What’s your name?” The black-robed man Asked.
“Daniel.”
“Well, Daniel. I’ll be on this planet for a few years. You can be my temporary disciple until I leave.”
*End of flashback
The Golden King recovered from his reverie and sighed saying: “This Allan is suspicious and may very well be the chosen of the /Light Emissary/ art. Him being a demon makes him even more suspicious in my eyes... Maybe the will inside the art chose him for a reason. He must die before he opens the ninth door or else, I will lose my freedom once the Light Bringer resurrects.”
Allan had left the royal palace after saying that he needed a change of scenery.
It did not stop the guards assigned to him to follow him into the city.
“How am I going to lose them?” Allan asked himself.
The two guards were all 9th tier Primordial Gods and he was merely a 2nd tier Primordial God.
He walked aimlessly for a while.
Fifteen minutes later, something happened.
A flying carriage suddenly crashed a dozen meters from him.
Nothing could explain how a perfectly fine carriage had crashed in the middle of the street on its own.
What followed were the heads of the two startled guards being magically severed from their bodies. They did not have the chance to even fight back.
Allan turned around to see two headless corpses.
He panicked and started running towards the palace.
A being capable of killing Primordial Gods of the 9th tier so fast could only be an Ascendant God.
The carriage crash had only been a simple diversion to lure the guards’ attention away from the assassin.
As Allan was about to fly away after realizing that running was not fast enough, he heard a voice:
“Where are you running to? I was sent by Hagar.”
A shadow materialized itself in the alley beside him.
Allan could not see the other clearly, but he was finally relieved. His life was not in danger. He asked: “Was it really necessary to kill them?”
“What other solution was there?” The shadow asked.
Allan said: “I guess you had no choice.”
“Quickly...Let us leave before it is too late.” The shadow said before a black light escaped it and entered Allan’s forehead.
“What are you doi...” Allan managed to say before he fainted.
The shadow caught him before he fell on the ground and then disappeared.
“Not so fast.” An angry yet angelic voice said.
It was Sun.
With her at the center, boundless light shone and amplified the daylight.
The shadow that had disappeared reappeared a kilometer outside Linland city with Allan’s body on the left shoulder.
The shadow turned around and sneered. It gently placed Allan on the ground and disappeared to appear a dozen meters from Sun saying: “He chose us. As of now, He has nothing to do with you.”
Sun then said: “Am I supposed to let you go now that you said that?”
The shadow was the first to attack.
“Humph...”Sun welcomed the incoming fist with just a simple palm.
As both sides collided, the aftershock created an enormous crater.
The city felt the remnants of the aftershock as well as the city walls a kilometer away from them started to crumble.
The Shadow the said: “The daughter of the Golden King is a 3rd tier Ascendant god...Good to know...I’ll be sure to report this to the higher-ups.”
“You’re just a new Ascendant god. If you were human, you would not be my match.” Sun said.
“Hehe...True. I am just a 1st tier Ascendant God half demon yet I can match you, even overpower you with my physical strength alone.” The shadow said. It added: “Should we stop here now that you know that it’s pointless for you to fight me? I’d rather not waste my time.”
Sun ignored him as a long white sword appeared in her hands. It was a claymore.
Her clothes changed to a beautiful armor made of light.
The claymore made of light had been her choice when she had opened her inner world with the /Sun Emissary/ art.
Back then, Allan had chosen to keep a normal sword when he was offered the choice to choose the kind of sword he wanted.
“Come on. There is no need to take this seriously.” The shadow said in a carefree manner.
Sun swung her long sword and light blade escaped it.
Seeing the incoming blade of light the shadow sighed and thought: “Hagar should’ve sent a stronger demon for this mission. I can barely match her with my strength but my other abilities aren’t suited for fighting. I’m a Dream Demon after all.”
The shadowy appearance faded to reveal a man wearing a black armor.
“I can only use this...” said the man as he morphed into something that looked human and inhuman at the same time.
There were four little horns on the man’s forehead. Pointy ears.
The two human eyes had disappeared to make place for a single horizontal eye.
The rest looked normal except for the hands who had turned into claws. There were only three fingers per hand.
The beastly man took the blade of light head on and shredded it with his claws effortlessly.
“You’re gonna have to do better than this.” The man said.
Sun sent multiple blades of light towards the single-eyed man who shredded them easily. It seemed that his claws were even deadlier than the blades made of light.
“If this isn’t enough...” said Sun as she summoned multiple puppets at the same level as her. There were at least twenty of them. They looked exactly like her.
The man was attacked from all sides.
Sun did not stop there as she unleashed a spell.
-Dome of light-
The area was they were fighting in was then sealed by a dome of light. The single-eyed man had nowhere to run to.
Sun then conjured multiple swords and spears of different sizes and shapes.
More than a thousand weapons appeared all around her.
She pointed at the man and the thousand weapons made of light departed in the direction of the man.
The man was already occupied by the blades of light being sent by the puppets. When he realized that more than a thousand swords and spears were heading for him, he panicked.
“She knows that I am a dream demon. She wants me to enter the astral plane to save myself before I die. If I do that my mission will have failed. She wants to obliterate my body and with my Astral body in the astral plane I will be safe but cut off from the real world.” The man thought.
“My inner world’s and spells are comparable to a human’s 1st tier Ascendant God. They are ineffective against her cultivation that surpasses mine. If I lose this body, I will also have to restart my demonic cultivation from the very beginning. Sigh...I guess I can only save my astral body for the time being.”
“No wonder they always send Dream demons on suicide missions like these. We can at least stay alive.”
As the Dream demon was lamenting on his situation, Allan was waking up.
It seemed that the dream he was forced to have was ending.
He looked in sky and saw that the demon that was tasked to bring him away was facing certain death.
“Sigh...Why send such a weak half demon to abduct me?” Allan said as he felt helpless.
“Well, I’m definitely not going back. I can feel that I will die if I stay.” Allan thought.
“Time to undo the seal.”

8 6872Braza the Architect - Magical Crafter, Builder, and Adventurer!
This is the story of an older man who lived a hard but full life, being reincarnated into a fantasy world as a human-lizard hybrid. The new world is violent, magic is real, a game-like development system crushes physics and natural law under its ambivalent thumb, and myth and legend don't just meet, they chase you down to eat you.Follow Braza as he tries to make a very different life for himself in a familiar but ultimately alien world. In this story the protaginist will not just be a muscle bound monster. He is not a proper hero, willing to sacrifice himself for the good of a stranger, but neither is he a maniacal villain. He is trying to survive, and he is trying to give himself and those he deems himself responsible for a seat at the table of the"goodly", the "civilized" races. He is trying to create a secure home for his people, to arrange beneficial trade agreements, explore ancient ruins, decipher ancient runes, push the boundaries of magic to create a better life for everyone around him, to learn about the history of the world and the multiverse, and ultimately attempt to become powerful enough to take on a being that even the gods themselves fear. This is my first story and it blends many different elements and styles. It's a bit darker than most of what I have read on Royal Road, but even with that, I hope you give it a try, and I hope you like it!
