《Demon Forever》09- Light Emissary's Ghost

As Allan was in his trance, the rest of the cultivators of Gold sword city thought that a divine object or a transcendent being had descended in their city.
Transcendent beings to them were Gods. Those that had managed to reach it were completely revered like deities.
It was the only reason they could find to explain the abnormal state of primordial energy.
Hordes of cultivators then converged to the source of all the ruckus.
Some even had ideas of apprenticing themselves to the God.
Some mortals caught wind of what was happening and ran as fast as they could towards the source. Hoping to catch a glimpse of the God.
Soon the store was encircled by cultivators and mortals. Some had even started to cultivate in the middle of the dense primordial energy.
The store had to close after Arkul gave the order.
“What an abnormal monster. What kind of art lets him cultivate so fast....even faster than me.../Light Emissary/ ...I wonder what that old god was thinking when he gave Allan that art.” Arkul thought.
Allan’s trance had lasted three entire days already and Arkul knew that it would attract the attention of all the cultivators in the city. He had already thought of a lame explanation for the onlookers.
All Arkul cared about at the moment was forging as many talismans as he could before the entire building disappeared in ashes.
He had ordered the dragon warriors to store everything valuable in their storage pouches.
Soon the store was emptied of anything of value.
The dragon warriors retreated outside while Arkul and Allan stayed in the flames.
“These flames are even stronger than mine.” Arkul observed.
“I’m going to forge a last talisman using these flames.” A strange gleam appeared in Arkul’s eyes.
Arkul then took a two-meter long dragon body.
He extended his right arm and then cut it with the other arm.
“Well, why not forge two of them?”
He cut the right hand off and then sent soul energy into the right hand as he let the rest of the cut right arm fall on the floor.
As he looked at the claw, he said: “Let my blood become its life force. Let my flesh become one with the wielder of this weapon. Let my bones drink the blood of my enemies.”
The skin over the four fingers disappeared to make place for the finger bones that were slowly turning into blades. Four bone blades.
The soul energy was making the claw look like a genuine weapon. The soul energy also turned the skin and scales into a wearable strap. The remaining bones were turned into a handle.
Arkul looked at the new Dragon claw and was satisfied.
He put it aside and then went to the arm on the floor. He made a short sword out of it after repeating the same words.
He looked at the two talismans then looked at the flames turning the building into ashes.
“Not yet. The fire is still absorbing primordial energy. I will wait until he is about to wake up and the fire is at its peak... in the meantime...” He looked at his right side that lacked an arm.
“Sigh...This is going to hurt.” He roared as a new right arm appeared.

“Young miss. Wait for me...” A woman said as she flew towards another woman in the sky.
“The primordial energy around this city is chaotic. Something is happening in there. Let’s go check it out.” A woman wearing a blue dress said.

They were passing by Gold sword city when Gwenn Sutton felt a disturbance in the primordial energy.
She had just entered the God realm and had just started attuning herself with primordial energy. Feeling the strange ripples coming from the city, she decided to investigate.
“Young miss, we are supposed to deliver the batch of pills to the Demonic sword sect. I know that we’re ahead of schedule but we should not waste our time like this.” The maid, Tana, said.
“Relax. It’s just to see what could be causing all these ripples in primordial energy.” Gwenn said.
They soon arrived above the city.
They followed the stream of cultivators towards the source of the disturbance.
Gwenn then said: “All the primordial energy is being siphoned by something or someone inside that simple looking five-storey building that’s on fire... Weird... Those flames...Why do I feel that they are dangerous even to a God like me?”
Soon the fire intensified.
The building had long disappeared in ashes to make place for the fire that was threatening to engulf the other buildings next to it.
Allan and Arkul were right in the middle of the fire.
With the dragon claw and dragon sword in front of him, Arkul was tempering himself in the fire as well.
The weapons were also being tempered in the fire.

Allan was mentally spent as his avatar started slowing down and losing the fight.
The mirror self realized that the other could not continue and stopped.
They both stopped at the same time.
One regained his senses while the other disappeared just like he had appeared.
“What is the /Light Emissary/ really?” Allan asked himself.
He turned around and saw that the golden palace was of a lighter shade than before. The inner world had expanded to reach a diameter of four kilometers.
“The 1st tier of the Immortal realm...too fast...It happened while I was in that trance? How long was I gone for?...And who was that other man that looked like me? ” Allan observed.
“I should now be able to open the next door.”
He went to the golden palace and entered the second door.
Inside the second room was a small workshop.
In the middle of the room was a table upon which a puppet made of light was resting.
Words then appeared in his mind: “The Light Emissary’s Ghost.”
The moment he touched the puppet, it immediately left the table to stand in front of him.
Its features started to change to look just like Allan.
Allan felt that a something new had appeared in his mind. He could control the puppet.
The puppet made of light was not only completely under his control but it also had the strength of the 1tst tier of the Immortal Realm.
Allan pointed at the puppet and said: “Transform.”
The puppet then blurred and took the form of a cloak.
Allan wore the cloak and said: “The cloak will act as protection for the time being. I will keep the existence of the puppet a secret and only use it as a trump card when my human cultivation surpasses my Divine body of fire.”
The puppet advanced in strength at the same time as its master and contrary to the God slaying swords and wings, it could take any form its master wanted.
Allan looked at the workshop at the edge of the room and said: “Looks like I can make more of them... But why does it seem like it is completely out of my capabilities?”

He abandoned the idea of crafting another puppet.
“I gained immensely. These basic sword arts will see me through any fight from now on... ”

The fire reached a dozen meters in height and had a diameter of more than thirty meters.
The heat generated by the fire made the cultivators retreat even further. Only Gwenn and her maid, Tana, were left close to it.
“I once happened to enter the Tower of the Fire God in the Fire ascension sect to temper my body. There are nine levels to it. The higher one goes the higher the difficulty. I reached the ninth floor only to be ejected a second later...I can assure you that this fire is a hundred times more intense than the ninth level of the Tower of the fire god.” Gwen said.
Tana then asked: “What is capable of creating such a fire?”
“That’s what we’re here to find out but we’re too far to see anything...” Gwenn said.
***
Arkul who was tempering his body and weapons opened his eyes saying: “It’s finally time.”
He took the dragon claw in one hand and the dragon sword in the other.
Still, in his two-meter dragon form, he flew above the fire and commanded his weapons: “Drink.”
The weapons made out of his flesh, blood and bones then started drinking the same fire they’ve been tempering themselves into.
Like hungry wolves, the weapons even fought for the right to absorb more fire as they both ate as much fire as they could.
The source of the fire, Allan, who had been moved by Arkul before the building collapsed, was on the ground still cultivating in his inner world.
Arkul was really pushing himself too hard. The last two talismans alone had taken more soul energy to forge them than the talismans he had been forging for the last three days.
As all the fire ended in the stomach of the two weapons, the cultivators around could finally see what was happening. They slowly approached.
Gwenn and Tana were the first to arrive at the scene. They were surprised to find a dragon and a man sitting cross-legged cultivating at the center of where the fire would’ve been.
“His aura...he is in the 1st tier of the Immortal Realm. It is impossible for a person of his strength to be this close to that fire. Even us were pushed back by the heat alone.” Tana said.
Gwenn, however, was looking at Arkul and the two weapons the latter was holding.
A grin then appeared on her face: “Tana. Look at those two weapons. Do they not feel like Eternal Talismans?”
Tana ignored Arkul to look at the weapons. A strange gleam was seen in her eyes. She said: “That demonic beast is one tier higher than you and I’m a 9th tier Immortal Realm. I can’t help you.”
“Don’t worry. I feel that the demonic beast is weak right now. It is even closer to my level.” Said Gwen as she flew as fast as she could towards Arkul.
Arkul knew that what was going to follow would hurt. He had no strength left and could barely fly.
“Sigh...I just used so much soul energy to forge these two talismans and now I am about to lose them.” Arkul thought before he screamed in the direction of Allan: “Wake the F**k up. We are under attack.” It was the only thing he could try if he needed saving.
Arkul had thought that the disturbance caused by Allan would attract weak cultivators but never in his wildest dreams would he have predicted this outcome.
A God realm cultivator had appeared and had set her eyes on the two talismans he had forged with his own body.
He had lost a lot of stamina in the process of forging them leaving him defenseless.
Arkul then tried to swing the short sword in the direction of Gwenn.
A torrential fire was released but missed Gwenn.
He was too slow to even use the talismans he had forged but he had gained himself some time.
He glided towards Allan and kept shaking him in order to wake him up.
Nothing happened.
Arkul then thought: “My only chance is to wait until she is close enough and then release the fire from the dragon claw. But what’s stopping her from attacking from a distance. Using my domain might kill all these onlookers.”
Gwenn then summoned her inner world.
A humongous tree then appeared out of nowhere followed by a lush green forest.
It was all illusory but at the same time real. The entire city was turned into a forest.
The humongous tree looked like a miniature world tree in the middle of the forest.
Vines then came from everywhere and converged on Arkul.
“Damn it all.” said Arkul as he prepared himself to use the last bit of his strength to summon his domain. His life was already in danger. He decided to deal with the consequences later.
“Wait.” Allan’s voice was heard.
As the army of vines was coming for them, Allan exhaled fire around them.
The fire engulfed him and Arkul. Any vine that touched the fire was incinerated.
“Impossible.” Tana said.
“You’re just 1st tier Immortal. How can you possess a fire stronger than a 1st tier God.” Gwenn asked.
Allan did not answer but asked: “Might I ask why you want to kill my friend?”
Gwenn answered: “He has two Eternal talismans on him.”
Allan looked at the two weapons that Arkul was clutching. He said: “Well, they belong to him. If you keep attacking us, I will kill you.” His last phrase was said with a hint of anger.
Gwenn thought: “As long as I avoid his fire, I can win.”
The world tree behind her vibrated as its vines and roots attacked Allan.
Allan sighed. His body blurred and only reappeared holding Gwenn’s neck.
He now had a body comparable to 4th or 5th tier Godbeast. Stronger than a 5th tier human God realm.
A new God like Gwenn could only see his shadow when he moved.
Gwenn's heart was racing as she could not understand what had just happened.
“I told you that if you attack us, you will die.” Allan said.
As Allan was about to incinerate her, Tana screamed out: “She’s the daughter of the Green Vine sect’s sect master. She is also the envoy sent to deliver immortal pills to the Demonic sword sect. She is to deliver the pills to the Sword master himself.” She said as fast as she could hoping to save her master.
“Not my problem. The Green vine sect is the least of my worries and I can be considered a member of the Demonic sword sect. If she wants to live, she better pay for it.” Allan said.
Tana went for her storage ring and took out a few boxes. She said: “These pills can help your demonic beast recover faster. These pills can help expand your inner world, these pills...”
“Alright. I’ll take them. Just leave.” Allan said.
Allan took the boxes of pills and went to find Arkul.
The inner world conjured by Gwenn slowly dissipated to make place for a cheering crowd of cultivators.
They had watched the short fight and now knew of Allan’s strength.
Allan found that Arkul had already fainted in his blue bird form.
The dragon claw and the dragon sword were not far. Allan stored them into his storage pouch along with the pills he had just received.
Cain, Edwin, Alistair and all the hunters came back from hiding and appeared right next to Allan.
They felt useless as there was literally nothing they could do against a God.
“Let’s go to the mansion.” Allan said as he summoned his white wings and flew towards his mansion, Arkul in his hands.
The dragon warriors followed closely behind.
They did not, however, notice the cultivators and mortals who followed them from afar.

8 474Crucible - A Lost Dungeons Tale
All stories must begin somewhere, this one starts with the creation of the universe. What follows is a tale of chaos and order, of gods and monsters, of creation and destruction. The birth of a universe is a tumultuous journey, different entities working with opposing ideals, cooperation giving way to frustration and jealousy. It is in that dangerous concoction of emotions that the god of monsters created the first dungeon core. Forged in a crucible of dedication and desire, the first core held potential, the likes of which could surpass even the civilised mortal races. Unfortunately it was not meant to be, the core was lost in a tragic accident and its creator thought it to have been destroyed. Over one-thousand years later, the core reformed inside an extinct volcano. In time it would grow enough to learn and learn enough to grow. This is the story of the first dungeon core. Crucible, the lost dungeon core. Note: Story updates every hiatus*. *I appologise for the delay.
8 160Against the World. Chronicles of melancholy
An unknown accident leading to an amnesia and a twisted psyche. Forced away from his daily life, forced to play the Game, for reasons untold. To fight for his survival, to fight for answers. Chronicles of melancholy, of an everlasting grayness, of sadness, despair and anger. A tale of a rise to power, or perhaps a fall from grace. 8 235Can a Lich Cry
Update every 1-2 weeks. Well, I say that, but I usually write during the weekdays and chill in the weekends. Should be the other way around, but writing helps me destress with schoolwork. The cover is a make-shift drawing I made some time ago. The Seven Kingdoms moved at the will of their prophets. They were the voices of their gods, and the deities wanted blood. After being caught in the crossfire, a young man named Sura died among the endless corpses. However, he inherited the Curse, and the Curse did not allow him to rest. When Titus conquered the Seven Kingdoms, he was still there. When mages became the new prophets, he was still there. Centuries later, the lich had faded into the unknown as the aide of Fia, the bastard mage and the only descendant of Titus. A dead man did not have anything to protect, so what did he fight for? For the game was not over, and it was still his to lose.
