Chapter 12
Previously:
"Wait… what level are you now?" he asked
"I'm level 35," I answered.
"I see… Let me tell you this kid, don't get sad if you don't level as fast anymore. When you first awaken, you get x2 exp." he said as he looked me in the eye.
"What about your costume? Do you have it?"
"Yes,"
"I- *pfft* If I remember, your soul was a *pfft* Lizard right? *pfft*?" he asked while trying hard to hold in his laugh.
"No"
"Wait what?" he said as if he was confused.
"This is my soul!!" I asked with confidence as I summoned Void out.
Void came out, and his scales had formed, so had his wings.
(* Wait, isn't he bigger? Maybe its because I leveled up *)
"Yes, master. That is the reason." Void said in my head.
(* I see *)
"By the looks of it seems like you have a dragon." Mr. Kim said intriguingly.
"Yes, I do."
"Well time for bed kid," he said as he shut the door to his room.
--------------------------------------------------------
That night, I didn't go to sleep right away because of the fact that Mr. Kim had a problem with telling me his identity. So I did some research on his background, and I got nothing so I went to bed.
By morning time around 7:20 am I was as tired as a human could be, I got out of the room and walk into the kitchen after freshening up and all I saw were bento boxes in the fridge labeled by the days of the week. When I opened the pantry, I saw some cereal and a couple of American product foods which made me sigh of relief because now I know I won't be starving in the house.

"Oh… I see you are awake."
I look back, and I see a dead person that looks like Mr. Kim.
"Yep and waiting on you at that," I replied.
"Ok, let me get ready," he said as made his way to the bathroom.
About 30 minutes later, we were prepared to leave the house.
*Yawn*
"Hey kid, I am way too tired today what happened yesterday?"
"I don't know you came home late," I answered.
And with that, we left the house and started driving to school… Well, driving is an understatement, THIS MAN HAD HIS OWN PERSONAL DRIVER AND A LIMO TO TOP IT OFF.
"I am curious now, who are you, Mr. Kim?" I asked.
"Your dad, now be quiet." He answered.
(* why the fuck is he so cold towards me, anyway it's probably best to follow his orders for now.*)
"Kid, when they ask for your name, just say your name is John Lee," he said.
I remained silent as I waited for an explanation but then remembered when he told me that I would change my name.
(* Damn… I feel weird that I have to change my name.*)
The whole drive was quiet as I just hummed songs to myself.
"This is where you get off young Master!" A voice I have never heard before said.
I looked around to know where the voice came from and behind me was a guy in a suit.
"Nice to officially meet you, Young Master John," he said.
"Who are you?" I asked
"I am Yeom Kyu, and I am your personal butler."
"His name means Standard in English," Mr. Kim pointed out.
"I don't need a butler," I told him
"Yes, you do. Case closed" he started to raise his voice.

I just got out of the car and walked in the direction of the front gate.
"I will be here after school to pick you up," Yoem said.
"Okay, Mr. Kyu," I replied.
"Just call me Yoem."
"Okay, Yoem," I said as I walked on to the front gate.
When I got to the front gate, there was a sign that said
Entrance Exam, so I went that way, and before me was a stadium with what seemed like a thousand kids all around my age.
"EVERYONE MAKE A STRAIGHT LINE IN FRONT OF THE DESK." Someone yelled.
"Who the fuck is that?" multiple people said as soon as they heard the voice, the smart ones started to form a line as the person said.
After everyone got signed up we were taken into the stadium which had a barrier up for those who didn't sign up on time.
We walked through the Entrance and there were about 12 people in the sky and I could feel their energy waves from where I was, and It was strong.
"Welcome to the Entrance Exam that determines your place in our school. First, we will gauge your level with the crystal ball then we will do the same with your magic power and physical abilities, then after all the introductions, we will watch you call forth your soul. Only people able to pass the tests or get a teacher's recommendation will be let through."
Another person stepped up to speak.
"With the level crystal ball, it will show you your level in numbers although, we know you can just tell us this is to prevent people lying about their level. With that in mind, when your name is called, please step forward."
"First up is Ryuk Shin." He stepped up to get his level checked as he placed his hand on the ball.
"Level 12" the woman yelled out.
"Wow, he is so high leveled," people said after his level was announced and as he walked back to the crowd with a long nose and his chest high.
(* Yo, why are they so low leveled*)
A few more people went, and no one has beat the level 9 mark.
"Yulia Shizuka"
"Level 33"
"What did I hear that right?" voices said across the stadium.
"Isn't that abnormal?" Someone asked as they raised up their hand.
"We do not have a level cap for those who can join only an age cap." The woman replied.
"John Kim"
(* Finally my turn huh?*)
I walked up and placed my hand on the orb...

Forged in Fear and Fury - An Apocalyptic LitRPG
In an attempt to prevent Earths ensuing demise, it is ripped from the void by an entity known as The Totality. It is then fused with a Lost Dungeon World to increase its inhabitants chances of survival in a new, system-enhanced universe. Cade Vale barely avoids death in the first second. Will he be able to overcome the rigors of this new world and survive? Will he be able to carve a new life out of the aether for himself and those whom he loves most? ...Will he be able to avoid becoming everything he hates in order to do so? Artwork by Kayla Basciano - Instagram: vulpix1323 Inspired primarily by the systems in The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound, The Genesis System, and The New World as well as by Savage Divinity, Azarinth Healer, and Shovels in Spades in general. I haven't been able to get these worlds out of my head and I've been waiting for something to fill the void left by the hiatus of Genesis, but so far nothing has scratched that itch as much as ProfoundMagician was able to with the world he created. I figure if I'm going to be thinking about this stuff as much as I do I might as well get better at writing while playing with a number of those ideas that I love. I have a number of specifics and events I want to show in the story, but a lot of the fun is coming up with ways to branch those together cohesively. This is an attempt to alleviate my depression by channeling my creativity into a hobby. Hopefully it's as enjoyable to read as it is to write.

Memories of the Bean Times
To those who have survived: I write this now, for I fear my death is imminent. Barnabas Schmidt wasn't serious when he said he knew what was going on in Paris. Thomas Sauer wasn't expecting to put his life on the line studying a mysterious disease. Julia Krause wasn't trying to join a cult. And the Holy Roman Empire wasn't prepared to fight the Beans. In the year 1587, the small farming village of Dijon in the Kingdom of France is attacked by seemingly immortal monsters made out of baked beans. As Schmidt fights against the Beans on the front lines, the Beans steadily approach the Empire's borders. As Sauer searches for the Beans' weaknesses, the Church of the Beanmeister paves the way for the arrival of the God. As Krause helps the Church, she begins to question her loyalty to the Beanmeister. Updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Chapters are available earlier on the Bean Times website: https://beantimes.github.io
