《Sona, A Goddess Queen in a Modern World.》05 - Knight

Sona when she saw her mother start crying, she cried together, but at no time did she stop with the music. For 3 minutes, mother and daughter cried in the room while the youngest played "The Scientist" on a strange instrument.
When the song was over, Madison couldn't take it anymore and ran to hug her daughter. Sona with a beautiful and calm smile satisfied in the face reciprocated the hug.
"Angela, where did you learn to play this instrument so fast? Looks like you've known how to play for years." Madison asked curiously.
"I learned on the internet, Mom, since I was a little girl I felt I needed an instrument like that, so when you came along with one it was like winning an arm that was always missing." Sona said quietly.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it." Madison said with a smile. "I'm gonna put it on youtube so I don't lose if someone steals my phone."
Sona thought about what this youtube was, but knowing that it was a site where people posted videos, she found it interesting but didn't care. According to Angela's memories, only a few people gained recognition on the site.
But to their surprise, something they didn't expect happened. When the video was published on the Internet, nobody first saw it, but within a few hours, the views began to grow exponentially. In the first hour the video had 100 views, in the second had 300 views, 600 in the third, when the night came the video was already with almost 4 thousand views.
In the comments there was only one group of people, nobody disagreed with them.
[Anurana: My God, where did this girl come from? She sings so well!]
[Kry0genic_: I think I'm in love... she's so beautiful and she sings so well O.O.]
Pan39: What is this instrument? She plays it so beautifully, I couldn't help but cry here at home.]

[NaNBYD: Neither do I, previous comment. When she started crying in the song I thought it was really beautiful, but when I realized it, my vision was becoming blurred and I didn't realize it, I was already crying in the room too.]
[HorizonCrown: Does anyone know where I can buy this instrument? The sound it produces is the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.]
...
Mother and daughter were unaware of the comments that began to appear on the video. The two of them were together watching a movie on TV.
Sona seeing that movie found it very interesting. That kind of thing wasn't very popular in her old world. There people focused only on cultivation, of course, in some galaxies there were civilizations that focused on technology, but she saw it only as fun toys to pass the time, but while Sona was thinking about it, she had an idea. She quickly started searching Angela's memories and saw that many of the things she considered as useless toys were too sophisticated for this era.
In order not to let her mother work so hard to earn so little, even if she is pregnant, she aimed to get some money from this planet to alleviate her mother's burden.
Sona always being connected in the artistic world, even having focused on music, she knew a lot about the theater of her old world. The theatre could not develop any God, but that did not mean that the theatre was weak. Sona saw many artists who were able to transmit the energy of feeling they wanted for their own performance, even to a lesser extent, given the low cultivation they had.
Sona saw the movie and realized it was different than what she was used to. This film could not be said better or worse than the forms of theater that she knew in the old world because it would be like comparing a violin with a trumpet. Each one has its own defects and qualities that are not comparable.

This film that they were really watching was called "Alice in Wonderland", for this world, where magic does not exist, was something fantastic, that captivated millions of people, according to what Sona saw from Angela's memories. But if I were represented in the ancient world of Sona, it would be boring. Since there spells, talking animals, other worlds, were all normal occurrences for them.
If I tried to reproduce a piece of Rakan in this world... would I have a good acceptance?' She started thinking about several possibilities while watching this film.
The head of the music goddess was running with so many possibilities that she could perform in this world. But she knew she had limited resources, she'd have to find some way to start slowly first.
The two of them watched movies together until the night, when Madison started to feel sleepy, Sona made her go to bed soon, so as not to affect the baby. But after Madison lay down, Sona went to her room and instead of also sleeping, she decided to start with the easiest thing for her to do now.
Sending a thought to etwahl, the instrument came out of the corner of the room and floated until it stopped in front of Sona. She began to strum the instrument, but controlled it so that only she could hear the sound, so as not to disturb Madison. Being a goddess of music who lived with etwahl for millennia, controlling who the sound would be directed to was the basic thing she could do.
From a note to note, Sona began to feel her body becoming more energized. She felt the ambient energy being sucked into her at a rapid rate. While she was concentrating on playing the notes, a small string crown appeared in front of her. This crown was completely made of energy, but it was so small that it could not even be worn as a ring.
Seeing the little crown, Sona felt a sense of nostalgia. It's been thousands of years since she felt the sensation of rising from Ranking. She had gone from Mortal placement to Knight placement.
The placement of the crop is divided into Mortal, for people who do not cultivate. Knight, for people who have managed to form the first crown, according to what Sona understood of the average strength of this planet, a Knight would merge a few times stronger than a human who reached the peak state of the body. The next classification is Baron, the weakest Baron can easily defeat a Knight at the normal peak. At this level, his strength begins to become several times stronger than that of a human in the peak state and he manages to weakly control the energy out of the body. The next level is the Viscount, his physical strength is sometimes the strength of a peak Baron, not to mention that now controlling the energy outside the body is a simpler task, but still having some difficulty. This kind of classification on this planet would already be completely dominating, by what Sona realized.
Since by her memories, the cultivators of this world were not known publicly or at least did not exist.
After the Viscount, there is the Earl, but from the Earl, the grower is now recognized as God. Becoming a God-Earl, just by this word added to the name one can see the strength of this level of cultivator compared to mortals.

Flashback: Siren Song
The year is 1969. Yancy Lazarus—bluesman, gambler, future world-class mage and fix-it man—is just a dumb, unlucky kid serving with the 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines in Vietnam. With just a few weeks left to go until Yancy gets shipped back to the States, he’s just trying to keep his head down and avoid a body bag—no mean feat in Nam. But when his squad is tasked with conducting a routine patrol deep in enemy territory, everything goes to nine kinds of hell, and he quickly sees his chances at survival slipping away. When the radio operators start to pick up some funky, dirty ol’ blues all the way out in the backcountry, it’s a nice change of pace. At least until the men in Yancy’s squad start losing their minds, turning on each other with murderous intent as the music works its deadly power within them. Convinced it’s some kind of new psychological warfare initiative, the squad leader forces the men to push deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, obsessed with locating the music’s source. What they find, however, isn’t some new technology, but an ancient spirit awoken by the terrible war. Even worse, the music is changing Yancy too, awakening something buried inside of him. Only one thing is certain, nothing is ever going to be the same.See how it all began … *** PRAISE FOR SIREN SONG:Hunter's writing is as low-down, gritty, and insidious as the blues Yancy Lazarus loves. Just like the mysterious music drifting through the jungle toward Yancy's squad, Siren Song will get under your skin and sink its hooks into your mind. —eden Hudson, Author of Halo Bound (the Redneck Apocalypse series) *** Hey everyone, this is James Hunter. This story isn't a full length novel--its a novella length work (25K words), and is part of my Yancy Lazarus series.
