《The Class Of Dan ThunderField》91-The End Of Me

My name is Kaileen Fracia. I was born 16 years ago. Well actually, today I turn 17. The thing is, only I, The King and Valerie cared about my birthday and there was this one guy who gifted me things till I was in middle school.

Yeah, middle-school was fun.

You guys know, when I was a kid, I was The King’s favorite child? Father, he always used to tell me bed-time stories. He always told me about cliché stories about the Knight in the shining armor. So one day, I asked him to tell me a different type of story. That’s when he told me the story about my mother.

He told me how he married the most beautiful woman in the world. He told me that not only was mother beautiful but powerful as well. He told me that she was capable of taking on hundreds and thousands of men by herself. She was one of the reasons that our Kingdom stands so strong even today. Her decision making, her way to treat people, her advice to my father, all of that were flawless. The moment I started hearing about her, I just wanted to be like her.

So one day, I saw this boy. He was being bullied by some bully jerks. I drove them away and saved him. Yeah, it’s kinda unbelievable that I was his knight in shining armor. We got along pretty well. He was like the bestest friend I had ever had but when I reached middle-school I realized that the feeling I had for that best friend wasn’t that of a friend but rather...I was in love with that person. I felt that feeling for him and I was finally going to confess to him but...

“What?! A sacrifice?!”

“That’s right, we ask of you to sacrifice one of your daughters.”

“I understand...I will talk to Kaileen about it.”

I realized that my fate was sealed the moment I heard that. I didn’t want to hurt the boy, so I told my best friend to stay away from me. I told him, I never ever want to talk to him or see him and yet he entered the same academy as me.

I ignored him. I suppressed my feelings for him. I had lost all my hopes until the day I met a teacher in the academy. That teacher was the reason I started laughing again and staying happy. He gave me hope...The hope which I call false hope. For six whole months, he kept on giving me false hope. Sweet talking to me and saying that he would save me. I thought that I could finally talk to Luke...But no, the false hope...It just broke me to a point where I couldn’t put my trust in anyone.

That’s when he arrived, that idiotic teacher who saved me...Even though my fate was sealed, he saved me. Even though I tried to kill him, he saved me. He said that he would save me again and again because I am his student. He stood up for me and even though I betrayed his trust and joined Tarand’s side, he still was thinking of saving me. He even made a contract with me that if I die, he dies.

Not only him but that idiot Luke too...

“Even if Sir Dan doesn’t, I will be sure to save you.”

I didn’t want false hope and that is the reason why I just couldn’t believe that anyone would save me. Even now, I wouldn’t mind if he didn’t save me. I am just happy that there are people who want to save me. I just don’t want Sir Dan to die...

“The time for execution has come, Princess Kaileen.”

I see...It’s that time already.

I guess that’s all the time I have left in this world.

This is the end for me. If I survive this by any miracle...I will owe my life to those people who are trying so hard to save me.

I already have walked out here in the middle of the fountain. I can see everyone from my class is here, Tarand, Flesty, everyone is here except father. I see...My sacrificial ritual is not that important to him.

I climb the ladder and both my hands and legs get tied to the stake.

“This is where Lord Ares will give us all great powers!”

Tarand announces and looks at me.

“Another thing, for all you kids who think Dan ThunderField is about to come here and save the day. He is already dead.”

That was the news...That I didn’t want to hear...

“And the person who killed him is right here.”

Tarand presents Valerie who walks from behind the stake.

“Valerie...You...”

No! No! No! No! It can’t be true! Valerie can’t kill just anyone for no reason. Why would you do this Valerie?! Why?!
