《The Class Of Dan ThunderField》26-Dan's Counter-Attack

*Hop*
*Hop*
*Hop*
*Sweep*
I slide my right leg to the back and bend my left leg a little in front. I show an open palm in front of my face which helps me cover up my face from attacks and the other near my hip to attack. That’s a defensive stance I took because if I have a feeling that if I go offensive...This whole city might get obliterated.
“I think we should finish what we started 11 years ago.” I say.
“I believe that too. Let’s end things today itself.” Umba says.
I take deep breathe controlling my inner mana.
“Ice magic: Body flow.” The ice magic helps me control my blood which I am losing. It freezes the blood for a few seconds and lets it flow again. It’s a deadly technique sure but...To defeat him, I must first stop the blood that’s flowing from my eye and restore it to a normal flow.
“Release!”
*Break*
The blood that was flowing from my eye becomes ice and breaks.
I take a deep breathe again, “I am ready.” I say.
“My, my, you have grown strong but so am I!” Umba rushes in.
*Swish*
*Swoop*
Umba punches me and I bend back to dodge. It’s just like I thought, if I went offensive I would have been dead meat. That punch is way stronger than a punch I can give him in my current state.
*Swish*
I bend down this time to dodge a hook that he tries to hit me.
*Swish*
I try to sweep kick him but Umba jumps and backflips in mid-air.
*Smash*
He tries to land a kick on me but I use my other leg to push me back.
*Swish*
“Hehe!”
Umba is running at the same speed as the force I have applied to push myself back.
*Scroooooooshhhhh!*
I dig my legs into the ground.
*Block*
I knew that Umba would try to hit me with his fist so I blocked it with my wrist.
“You have gotten better, brat.” Umba says to me.
“I always had the potential to be the best.” I say.
Umba smirks, “But you still won’t be able to defeat me.”

*Smack*
“What the-“
That kick he just hit me with has such a strong force.
*Bang*
It actually sent me flying towards a wall and I broke the wall.
“Chie! Chie! Chie! That guy is one helluva a physical beast. If anything he has me beaten in agility too. I need to think of something and fast.”
I get back from the debris and watch him walk towards me like he is casually taking a stroll in a park.
It pisses me off but he really is taking me lightly here.
I take my stance again. I need to keep on using this stance. After all, this is the only stance that helps me deal with physical beasts like him, Kokustu Daichi. The reason to use such as a stance is quite simple, it helps me cover up my vital points.
*WOOP!
Umba jumps in the air, “HAHAHAHAHA!!!! WHAT’S THE MATTER BRAT?! YOU SEEM TO BE LOST!”
He’s in the air...What if I change my stance, right now?!
A stance used to counter-attack, both hands open and right in front of me. The right one in the front and left under it, both legs bent to withstand his attack. Grab the ground to fight back. This counter-attack style is very similar to a style that the people in the Eastern Kingdom use call Wing Chun. I decided to name it, Dan Counter.
“What are you doing, you brat?!”
Umba is coming at me at full force and I take a deep breath.
“FROM THE TREE OF KRATOS: DIVINE FIST!”
Divine fist, a fist filled with mana, mana good enough to destroy a city and that fist is about to hit me and just before it hits me raise right arm to stop it while pushing my left arm to the back with great force.
*Block*
“WHAT?!”
I found a part of a wall behind me. I smirk, “That works too.”
“Huh?!”
“FROM THE TREE OF THE WIND GOD ARIA: BASIC WIND PUSH!”
Basic wind push, it will pretty much push the hand that’s on the wall. Sorry city but I gotta break this wall.
I smile.
*SMASH*
“What did you do?!” Umba asks me.

“Just used some magic to counter your magic.” I smirk.
“Now!”
In a popular Eastern sports Judo, there is this technique of throwing people over their shoulders with their opponent’s weight. I will use that to throw this guy to the ground.
“HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!”
*Swing*
I flip Umba over my shoulder and throw him to the ground with great force.
*Bang*
“Guh!”
Umba spits out blood from his mouth.
XXXXXX
“That damn teacher...Not only his students but he himself is a damn beast.” Gracie says as she looks at Dan.
Dan comes to the ground with seat and exhaustion all over his face.
XXXXXX
“We beat the scissor guy, teach!” Jack says with a smile.
“I see...” I look at Jack but...
This fight isn’t over yet.
“Damn, I need to admit...You have grown strong, much stronger than I imagined.”
“WHAT?! HE CAN STILL STAND?!” Everyone seems to be surprised except me and Fracia. After all, we both know that this guy is a total beast but...There is something odd about him.
I look at Fracia and even he seems to be in disarray.
“You guys gave that little minion of Umba a good beating it seems.”
I look behind me and there was a guy with cold eyes sitting next to the body. I didn’t even feel that guy’s presence. If he had come and killed anyone of us, I wouldn’t have even known.
“Van....”
*Splash*
It wasn’t soon until everyone was surprised because that man with cold eyes just pulled out the scissor guy’s heart and ate it...
“Bylahh!”
Luke is weak to this kinda thing no wonder he will vomit.
“You kids were the ones who defeated him, right?” That cold guy says.
“What if we did?!” Izumi questions.
“Step back Izumi...This guy isn’t of your league. If I had to say, he is at least a Master Class mage.” I say.
“Sir Dan...”
The classes of a mage go by, Rookie Class, Novice Class, Apprentice Class, Knight Class, Veteran Class, Master Class, Grandmaster Class, Semi-World Class and World Class. This guy...He’s bad news.
“Dan, you continue fighting Umba!” That’s Fracia, “Don’t worry about anyone over here. I won’t let anyone die here.” Fracia smiles.
“Fracia, Gracie, Evan, I am counting on you to take of things here.” I say.
Fracia nods.
I look at Umba who seems to be breathing heavily in excitement.
“Brat, you are about to witness one helluva pain!” Umba says.
“That’s my line.” I say as I calmly stand and take in air.
*Swoosh*
Umba comes at me.
*Smack*
HE’S FASTER THAN BEFORE!
*Smash*
He sends me flying into an empty house.
“Tsch!”
“This guy...He’s finally decided to get serious.” I say as I get back up from all the debris over me.
XXXXXX
“Gracie, Evan, you two will fight that guy over there.” Fracia says to Gracie and Evan.
“But my lord, I have a duty to protect you!” Evan says.
“I will be fine, just keep those kids save.” Fracia says.
“Tsch! Understood!” Evan says as he joins the battle.
Both Evan and Gracie stand in front of the cold man.
“What’s your name?” Gracie asks.
“Is that necessary?” The cold guy asks.
“Whatever suits you.” Gracie says.
“If you want to call me, call me...Reaper...Yeah, you can call me reaper.” The cold guy says.
Everyone feels a very strong killing intent from reaper.
“WHAT THE-“
Gracie readies her spear and so does Evan.
“I see, let’s fight.”
XXXXXX
“This guy...” Gracie looks to be sweating.
“This guy...” Evan seems to be sweating.
“Dan wasn’t wrong...That guy has already begun to insert fear into his students...” Fracia looks at the 4 students who stood still without uttering a word, drenching in sweat and fear.
“Even this little girl...She is hugging me tightly while drenching in sweat and fear. Her whole body is shaking.” Fracia narrates.
“I hope...Those two can pull it off or else...This might be a situation where even I won’t be able to do anything in...”

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
8 227Starvation March : Voidborn
Born from the void, a being is finally given the greatest gift possible: Life. It's very core composed of endless slaughter and an even more neverending hunger, how will this being cope with the rest of the universe? Shunned due to it's past, hated because of it's powers and it's loved ones in peril, how far will this being go in order to continue living happily? Embracing it's nature, carrying slaughters and unspeakable horrors, these are mere trivialities for the being. After all, it's not known as the Slaughterer for nothing. [In case you don't know, this is a redo of Starvation March. The synopsis is kinda shit, but still. I tried.]

A forsaken kingdom, an empty throne, a dwindling population and the blame is one young girl? Can she overcome the darkness in her heart and the stigma of her people and become something great? This is my first attempt at a series so if anyone has any critiques on my work, grammatical or plot wise feel free to leave them in the comments; also, don't be afraid to be brutally honest in the reviews. Gonna leave it at (14+) for now. PS- The description is a work in progress.
