《NEVER JUDGE》Chapter 21

After calming Adrianna down the night before Cedric had to leave home earlier than usual in order to make all of his meeting the next day.
The product development director was scheduled to show him the 3 new products they were going to use to relaunch the brand. This meeting would last the whole morning due to the complexity of their plans. After that he would meet with his father at lunch. He knew that meeting would be long as well since the topic of the Elisia Mall project with Island’s Inc had its own set of problems.
Since the presentation required all of the development and marketing team to be present Ian and Camilla had set up a camera, microphones, and a speaker from which Cedric could be heard. Camilla would stay in the boardroom with the team members while Ian and Cedric would be at the President’s office watching the presentation from his laptop.
Prototypes of the product had been sent to Cedric’s office for his inspection and trial.
Due to his desire to remain unknown to the public Cedric and his assistants had to go through impractical and difficult steps just to set up one meeting.
At 10 o’clock sharp the whole team arrived at the boardroom. They had expected to finally meet their president. They were however, disappointed to see Camilla and the set up in place.
“If you are ready you may begin.” Camilla told the team.
Cedric was happy with the overall plans and presentation. He particularly liked the prototype they had given him.
“I understand it’s a tight schedule but I want this all done in a month.” Cedric knew that he should have given his team longer, but the relaunch couldn’t wait.
“Sir, we would like to get your approval for a list of endorsers we plan to negotiate with.” The marketing director said.

“No need. We will be working with Eric Chan on this.” Eric had caused him so much trouble the last time he decided to maximize it.
The girls in the other room all suddenly got excited. They had seen the viral photos of the actor with their co-worker and had planned to ask him how he knew the actor after this morning’s meeting. It seemed to them that assistant Cedric was talking to the actor on behalf of Mor Co.
“Sir, based on our budget we can’t afford Mr. Chan.” The director said with much hesitation.
“Don’t worry about the budget, this will be outside of that. Just make sure to have everything prepared in one month. I’ll have Eric’s assistant contact you directly. You may go now.” Cedric said, dismissing everyone.
At Lights Entertainment’s CEO’s office Ram Abad sat at his desk while Eric lounged on the couch.
“That’s odd, Cedric hasn’t asked for the news about you two meeting to be taken down.” Ram said as he checked his phone. As the owners of the top news and entertainment company Ram had full control over what entertainment news was considered just rumors and what was reported as facts. It was very unlike Cedric, who was usually very low profile, to let something this big stay in circulation.
Eric’s phone suddenly buzzed and he sat up from the couch. Cedric was calling him. He showed Ram before eventually picking up.
“Hey little bro!” Eric called all of his younger brother Miguel’s friends little bro.
“You’re with Ram? Put me on speaker.” Cedric said.
“Hey Cedric.” Ram greeted over the phone.
“Since Eric decided to have his fun with me at the mall yesterday, he will be the new endorser of Mor Phones when we relaunch in a month.” Cedric said.

“That’s great Cedric! I’ll ask our legal and finance department to draft a contract. I’ll give you a big discount.” Ram said with a grin.
“No discount, Eric you’ll do it for free.” Cedric said coldly.
“Oh come on Cedric! My company still needs to turn a profit.” Ram complained.
“Just think of it as an exchange. I’m giving your sister Veronica so many projects and paying her so much money, I should get something back in return.” Cedric said.
“But that’s Veronica’s money! She won’t even buy me a cup of coffee from Starbucks!” Ram whined.
“Well that’s the deal.” Cedric said definitively.
“I’ll do it.” Eric said without even consulting Ram.
“Great. I’ll give my assistant your number.” Cedric then dropped the call.
When the employees of Lights Entertainment heard that their top actor, Eric Chan, had decided to do an endorsement for free the whole office went into a frenzy. What kind of person could convince someone like him to do something for free?
At Mor Co. Cedric decided to give Camilla a treat and put her in charge of coordinating with Eric Chan. She was beyond ecstatic, she, like every other woman in Mor Co., she was a big fan of Eric Chan and now she had his personal number.

Same Crap, Different World
A young man from early 21st century wakes up in a different world. This world is like a typical setting of an fantasy isekai novel. But it is also not. There is magic, alchemy, magical creatures, different non-human races, peasants and nobles, demons and dragons. But there is also politics, persecution, supremacism of every kind, entitlement, slavery and other unpleasant human tendencies. In short, this new world does not differ much from his old one. However, besides him, there may be others who have made such a strange trip, and awakened into this new world. There certainly have been others, in the past. But more than people and other living things, there have been items. All sorts of items, which are regarded as otherworldly artifacts with unknown danger and power. And he himself is an artifact as well, albeit a living one. Therefore he has use for the powers that be. He is also given a role and expectations to fulfill, to hide his real value. And in all that he still has to make sense of what has happened, what is happening, and find a way back, if possible. Author's note: I write this project mostly in (except chapter 1) in 60-100 page (40,000-70,000 word) chapters, edit them as such and later cut them down for publishing into 7-11 page segments (depending on natural breaks in the flow). Therefore, each chapter may be divided into 10-15 subchapters.

At The Lions Gate
In the 20th century America reinvented itself. Devastated by depression, scarred by war, rocked by a revolution, Americans banded together to preserve their country and their freedom. They had faith in themselves, faith in one another, and for those who believed…faith in God. This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. To honor his father Josh joins the war effort in 1942, distinguishing himself as a fighter pilot, until a fateful decision near the end of the war changes the course of his life once again. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. In the streets of San Francisco Josh watches a crowd of students march for peace. As a veteran he’s conflicted, toward the war and those who oppose it. But when he encounters Rosy Goldin, a spirited young protester in need of help, a voice from the past calls him to action. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father. Fearful of what happens to Rosy, Josh confronts Erick, unwilling to be part of his plan to escape…until he meets the boy’s father. A high-powered criminal attorney, Karl White is also a flag-waving patriot demanding that his son follow the law. But as White makes his case Josh is jolted by a painful war-time memory, a crisis of conscience that will soon determine the fate of Rosy Goldin and Erick White.
