《NEVER JUDGE》Chapter 9

Cedric waited outside Island’s Inc.’s building. Most employees knew who Cedric was, Adrianna was considered the goddess of Island’s Inc. and many couldn’t believe that she had settled for someone like Cedric.
“Isn’t he Miss Adrianna Hernandez’s husband?” A girl asked as a group of employees passed by him.
“Yeah. I heard he works at that small phone manufacturing company, Mor Co.” Another said.
“What a waste that Miss Adrianna married him. She could have done much better.”
“You have to admit it though, he cleans up pretty well. If I didn’t know who he was I would assume he was some actor or a son of a rich family. What a waste.” The first girl said again.
“I guess that’s why Miss Adrianna isn’t exactly on good terms with her family, she disappointed them in marrying him.”
Cedric was used to this kind of talk. Many people thought he couldn’t hear them when they were clearly talking about him.
“I don’t think it’s proper for you to be gossiping right outside the office.” The employees were suddenly surprised to find Adrianna standing right behind them.
“Miss Adrianna, we were just complimenting you.” One employee tried to say in defense of the group.
“Don’t let me catch you gossiping about my husband again!” Adrianna scolded and marched off.
“Hey Adri, honey.” Cedric said, putting an arm around her waist.
“Let’s go. Before these people ruin my appetite.” Adrianna motioned to Cedric.
They took a taxi to Reyes Group’s building, R tower, it was here that the head office of the Reyes Group was located. Adiranna was surprised at their destination.
“Why are we here Cedric?” Adrianna asked.
“To have lunch.” Cedric continued to pull Adrianna towards the building.

“Cedric there is only one restaurant in there, and it’s Nouveau.”
“That’s where we are eating today.” A grinning Cedric said.
“That’s a nice joke Cedric, not only is it too expensive but just getting a reservation takes months.” Adrianna laughed.
“We have a reservation. Come on.”
Adrianna could do nothing but shake her head in disbelief.
At the 15th floor of R tower.
“Mr. Cedric, welcome, we have your table ready.” the maitre d'hotel said as they arrived.
All major staff at R Tower had to be familiar with every member of the Reyes family, so it was only natural that he knew who Cedric was and how important this young man was.
“See, I wasn’t lying.” Cedric whispered to his wife.
“Why does the head waiter know you?” Adrianna asked, still suspicious of how her husband got a reservation or how he was planning on paying for their meal.
“They make it a point to know their customers. I mean you do pay a lot to eat at this place.” Cedric shrugged, hoping his wife would buy his lie.
“Sir, your table.” The waiter opened a secret door. The room had a large window that overlooked the whole city. From there you could see Island’s Inc’s and Mor Co.’s building, you could see the parks and even the residential areas outside of the business center.
Adrianna’s jaw dropped. How was Cedric able to book the most exclusive room in the most exclusive restaurant in the whole city.
Cedric thanked the man and helped Adrianna to her seat. She was still clearly in shock as to how they had ended up at this place.
“Don’t ask, just enjoy.” Cedric said with a smile.
“Are you sure you can afford this? Cedric you know none of these things ever mattered to me. What’s always important is that we are together.” Adrianna said, nervous that Cedric was burning a hole in his pocket just to make her happy.

“I just told you, no need to worry about it.” Cedric continued to avoid answering her question on how he managed to plan a lunch at this place.
Soon waiters came in with their steak. Cedric had asked Camilla to place the order in advance so that once they arrived they would just have to eat.
A middle aged man entered after the waiters and introduced himself as the manager at Nouveau.
“Mr. Cedric, I was asked to give you this bottle of wine, on the house, we hope that you and your wife have a pleasant meal.” the manager said signaling the waiters to prepare the wine glasses.
“This is too extravagant.” Adrianna shook her head, she felt as if this was some odd dream.
Adrianna and Cedric ate their meal as Adrianna told Cedric about her morning. She had a stressful first half of the day and their lunch date was more than welcome to her. She was just wondering if this lunch made her feel better or just stressed her out more.
Once done, Adrianna excused herself to go to the washroom. The manager took this opportunity to speak to Cedric.
“Mr. Cedric, your father said that this meal will be his treat. We at Nouveau look forward to your return sir.” Cedric guessed that his father had given strict instruction not to let Adrianna hear about it. He was glad that his father understood his intentions.
Outside Adrianna touched up her makeup in the women’s room. As she turned to leave she bumped into someone she had not seen since their university days, Lorisa De Jesus.

So, while Vic has a lot of questions, we have to ask... Will he survive? Will he find some treasure? Will he really be able to get back home? ... Perhaps. =====Summary Over===== Yo, if you are reading this then (like me) you like to read pretty much anything, including some guy's random rambles. Well you could read this story if you want but what's the fun in that really? I'm pretty much writing this (my first) story on a whim so it is certainly not perfect nor is it likely to be good (but what do I know maybe I'm secretly talented). It also might have tons of tons of errors beacuse I'm dumb and sometimes it's just so boring to proof read and you just wanna send a chapter out y'know. Regardless, whether this story brings you the most euphoric delight or illicits the most intense abhorrence I wanna know what you think and how I can improve, reader person, especially if you read this far! ( please reveiw or something)

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
