《Post-Living》Chapter 24.2: Slip-'n-Slide

The skeletons have holed up in their houses. The word that those Dekus are invading spreaded like wildfire, and it caused massive panic among them. The Chief, who exited his room to try and calm his people, looks pretty panicked himself. That's to be expected, since probably half of your people got turned into a living zombie. They hid, and closed down their lights, doors, and everything that needs to be closed.
At the side, Mira and I were watching how they panicked. Some of them collided with each other, causing their bones to fall off. It was pretty funny, and I felt like I was watching a cartoon. My twisted sense of humor was erased when I saw Mira, who was genuinely concerned about the skeletons that were holing up in their houses. She's also a bit of afraid, and I can see it in her eyes. Due to looking at other people's eyes, I noticed something eerie about Mira's.. well, eyes. The last time I saw it, it was glistening, and it was blue. This time, it was green..?
I simply chose to not notice it anymore, and just focused at the task at hand. We were assigned to decapitate or save those skeletons inside those things called Dekus. Dekus are humanoid plant monsters who uses a host to walk, and do things only people with a proper body structure can do. We couldn't kill them by slashing them apart, as the Chief said. Burning is also crossed out, if we want to save those people and get rid of those Dekus, we're going to use the Grass element as our main attacker, and luckily, the one I paired up with, Mira, is an expert at the elements, but a beginner on using those elements.
"What the hell are you still doing here?!"- said the Chief, who's still smiling even though he's sweating bullets. Now that's a role model.

"Sorry, you two. We can't escape this. The path that lead you two here are surrounded by forests, right? There could be more there, so this might be your last stand... I'm sorry. If we weren't so broke.. we could've put this quest for the higher ranked ones.."- As much as I want to leave, I couldn't just let this people be.. Also, the money. If I took it, then this village will be broke beyond repair. Great. They could all socialize like proper living beings.
Mira, without hesitation, went straight to the hill. I, who was hesitating, ran to chase her. Even if she's actually an Irregular, she's still vulnerable, so I was hesitant on making her join the battle. There's a lot of those humanoids, you know..
I looked back and saw the Chief, who was actually tearing up by Mira's sudden heroism. I think he was thinking it was a noble sacrifice, but it was also in vain since they can't escape and all. *Haaaaaaaaaaangh* This is gonna be a long night.
"Mira! Why the hell did you suddenly run off like that?!"- I shouted, and she didn't even care to look at me, which made me slightly pissed.
"Don't worry, I got this.. Hahahahaha.."- She stated, then laughed continuously. The angel persona surrounding her was gone, and I was left confused. Her voice changed, and it wasn't the cutesy angelic voice anymore, it was deeper, and it felt like she was angry at me.
"Stay back, alright? This is going to be.. a bit messy.. hehehe.."- She said. Seriously, I'm getting more creeped out by this girl than the actual Dekus.
That's when I realized that the one I'm with isn't exactly normal, at all. Heh, I could live with it. The thought of her being a beginner is now wrong.. in all standards.

...
The Dekus were ready to attack her. But then..
...
A huge fucking tree below her sprung up, and she was standing on it, making her go high above the ground. The Dekus tried to punch the tree. She then jumped off the tree, and a beanstalk came out of the tree, and she landed on it. Then, she slid through the beanstalk, while the stalk following every movement or direction that she takes. The stalk went fast.. then faster.. and faster. The Dekus were getting eliminated one by one, and I was just standing there, mesmerized. She slid through each Deku, and the Dekus got absorbed by the beanstalk. Then, when everyone of them is dead, she ignited the tree using her magic, and made a huge bonfire in the middle of the hill.
...
Honestly, I thought her guise was something cool and all but.. I didn't expect this.
"See..? I told you to stay back. It's been a while since that wretched Flow let me out again."- She's a different person...? Her entire persona changed except for her body. It's kinda like...... him......
"Hey, Mr. Xin!"
"Huh.. what?"- I woke up in.. wait, the Chief's place?
"Hey, Mr. Xinnnn! Are you ok now?"- She stated. Wait, what happened?
"Why am I here? What happened?"- I screamed, making them unnerved.
"You blacked out.. suddenly. You must be terrified of me now.. huh.."- She said, with the sad expression on her face.. Agh.. That's right. I remember... Him. She has the same case as him? Are all Irregulars like that?
Agh.. it's making my brain hurt. I.. no... where are they.. no.. AGH..!
"Sorry for not mentioning earlier, Mr. Xin, but I'm actually a witch!"- She exclaimed, with a huge smile on her face.
"Yeah, I can tell."- I said, because she's a mage. Of course, the female term for a wizard is a witch.
"No.. I'm an actual witch!"- She pulled off his broom from her hood, and she rode the broom. She floated above me..
For some reason I learned how to cope that this world is much more different than mine, and that must be the reason. Let me just go back to sleep..
"Hey, MR.XIN!"- Her eyes suddenly changed, and it turned red.
"Oops, sorry."- Then her eyes suddenly reverted back to blue.
That's when I realized that I have to yet again deal with another weird one.

What do you wish for?
Norman hated his life. His peers ignored and bullied him. His mother nagged. His father was never home. Norman desperately wished for a miracle, but his prayers went unanswered. Until one night. **************************************** Note: This story is going to be very short. I would recommend reading it all at once. This story started out as a challenge I set for myself. I've recently felt bogged down because of the need to write more. That's why each chapter will be only 300 words long. Exactly 300 words long. At this point, I've pretty much written the whole thing, so I'm very confident that there will only be eight chapters.

Letters from a Dying World
Times historic are often penned after the fact in the lifeblood of the pitiful, forgotten masses. That roiling, uncountable crush of humanity, they who held the pikes and they who threw down the tyrants. Their veins opened by gazes academic, sharp and cruel, and pecked away at with quills, written out of their own story. The Second Dark Crusade was a time of such poignancy. A time when the light of man waned and flickered, choking in the acrid smoke of its own inadequacy. As befitting of such an age it has been covered more than a capital whore, and so I attempt not to tell that story again. That story of dull, unfeeling analysis. Neither here will you find the browbeating, propagandistic screeds so common in the hands of men, the light of youth still burning behind their eyes. Nay, here I shall attempt to cover fresh ground, not tread on the grave dirt of long dead authors. Here I shall attempt to tell the story of the small lives caught, unbeknownst to them, in the great and torrential downpour that we now call history. Here lies the true story of The Second Crusade. - Loremaster Ip'Qal
