《Shining Duos》Four Trials

"Now then which one of us you young ones will choose to inherit our legacy and power? Do remember it's best to choose what will help you the most." Senior Myla told them getting the four teens to contemplate hard now.
In all of their minds, each legendary beasts seem like an excellent option to choose from. It didn't even matter if one didn't match their Qi type as all of them would carry incredible natural abilities.
But after thinking for a short while the youths made their decision and Kazami was the first to open up and say;
"I will go with you, Senior Myla; I have proficiency in lightning among my other ice Qi."
His words cause Senior Myla to brightly smile and also state, "Perfect you won't regret it for sure. Us of the godly has one of the most sublime eyes abilities throughout the universe being able to peer through anything for one such ability. Not only that your lightning Qi will soar and receive other benefits under my inheritance."
Such enticing benefits hugely excited Kazami as this seemed like once in a lifetime opportunity. Just the benefit of having perfect eyes is already exceedingly helpful to him.
As it had gotten recorded down in history, the griffin god race can peer through even the strongest of darkness Qi and look through one soul.
"Then I will choose Senior Lukil since I'm also more proficient in my lightning Qi than my fire Qi." Kuzumi spoke up next and seeing as it was his turn Senior Lukil nodded and started to say;
"Correct choice, we Qilin god race are somewhat related to the dragon race, which leads us to develop impenetrable scales that even dragons will have a laborious time breaking."
The mere thought of having unbreakable skin gave Kuzumi wild ideas and pumped her up to future inheritance.
The scales of Kilin rank amazingly high in the universe and these scales has numerous abilities ranging from defence, attacking and even illusion techniques.
Humans as well if they manage to gain a piece of scales from a Qilin accomplish to modify their weapons with it creating powerful supreme weapons just by the scales alone.
"And I will choose your Senior Alar; speed is an unstoppable force." Senior Alar smirk when Brenda chose him and started to boast quite a bit saying,

"And you did not choose wrong kid. Among the four of us, none of these other beasts can hope to catch me at my true speed, hell not even something like time can slow me down."
Brenda was quite shock hearing such outrageous abilities as she never thought it was possible to surpass something like time itself even if its only for a little bit.
Kung pengs have another legendary title it being the "deadliest killers" in history. Due to their extreme speeds and sharp, penetrating attacks no matter who it is if one is not careful, they wouldn't even know how they died by a Kung peng.
"Which leaves me and of course I will go with Senior Quava since I whole heartily practice with grass Qi." Lun Yuo said, and a knowing smile tugged at Senior Quava lips as she went on to explain,
"My you're in luck you know, I can be called a special variant in my race. Unlike the masters of water as they are, my grass laws are extremely destructive capable of blasting even those mighty dragons away. And our regeneration abilities will make you seem immortal."
This was new knowledge to Lun Yuo since she didn't read much on the possibility of grass Qi being that destructive nor knew about their fantastic regeneration factors.
Among that there was also the fact Senior Quava was even apart of the devil race already having an extraordinary physique with its other outstanding powers.
"Now that we have that out of the way, we will give you young ones some time to digest the new information and let you rest up to your best state." Senior Myla told them, and at this time, the four youths realize they haven't even asked on how will they gain their inheritance.
"Senior Myla before you go, but I have to ask how will we undergo the process of gaining your inheritances?" Kazami asked, and before Senior Myla could respond Senior Quava cut in saying,
"So you've finally asked, and with all of our outlandish abilities, you kids should know it won't be so simple to gain it right? The four of you will take on our specially made trials to test what we need to see up close and to see if you have the ability to take in our power or not."

"Be for warn though, there is a chance during this trial you may die so prepare for any hidden possibilities." Senior Alar added in when Senior Quava got done, and it got the youths to jump in the realization that these trails will come at the cost of another life or death situation.
"Don't worry too much about it; I'm sure with all of your latent talents the trials won't cause too much trouble. Rest well now and come see us by these blue doors when you're ready." Senior Myla concluded as the four beasts began to walk back to the blue cave doors.
Although Kazami and the girls now were focusing on the risks and rewards of taking this trial. From earlier experience, the possibility to die is exceptionally high as it was a stroke of luck before Kazami weapons activated on their own.
But Brenda suddenly seemed to realize something as she spoke up to others with, "Kazami, can you tell me what you think so I don't get my thoughts wrong."
Kazami still wasn't foolish enough to believe the four beasts weren't hearing every word they say and decided to choose his words very carefully;
"Oh well it's simple, for the future we will be able to reign free with our powers."
This little bit of clarity got the girls to understand more what he means and know indeed once they receive this significant boost in power it won't take long in the future where they wouldn't be under these godly figures influence.
Brenda continued saying, "This trial won't pose any threat to use individually. They will only count for our compared might."
"Ah, and because of that, these new trials will vary compared to earlier probably being more focus on our individual abilities." Lun Yuo thought about it and added on.
"It makes sense considering during that second room; I could tell those skeletons beasts were holding back power to adjust to our combined might compared to the power they were using against that outlaw clan." Suddenly remembering that moment Kuzumi commented and unknown to them their guesses would be right.
Like Kazami thought the beasts did pry in and listen to their conversation and they all were a bit shock they manage to reach that conclusion.
To be able to know if their worthy or not, the beasts did indeed adjust the skeletons powers. They wanted to push to see what their absolute limit but they had only made the skeleton crow a peak Origin Formation beast.
The four seniors couldn't precisely observe what happened in the magma as, during their halfway point, they mysteriously fell into a trance, and instantly the youths blasted through the magma.
But despite being amazed on that front, the seniors chalked it up to youths divine bloodlines having strange properties as a lot of them do.
And the skeleton crow was beaten by Kazami weapons, so they did indeed lower the difficulty some but still believed their trials would push the teens to the extreme again.
All of this is why these seniors treated these youths well and they why they didn't pay much mind to Kazami reigning free comment.
After all to skipping a few levels is already consider top talent, there is no way all of them could jump an entire realm in prowess.
…
After a few hours of rest and making sure they were in their best state, the youths went up to the senior beasts with the utmost confidence.
Because they could tell these beasts don't know for sure of their maximum prowess, it boosted with all the more assurance to pass these trials.
"We're ready." The four said at the same time, and without words, the beasts nodded and stepped aside from the doors.
Kazami went over to Senior Myla, Kuzumi went to Senior Lukil, Brenda got with Senior Alar, and Lun Yuo made it to Senior Quava.
The four doors slowly open revealing darkness, and with no hesitation, the youths stepped in the doors with roaring fighting spirits.
Following close, the beasts had also step in their respective doors with smiles plaster on all of their faces. Their true inheritors had come.

From the Final World
I have lived a long, long time. Longer than the universe knows; longer than any star has seen or traveling light records. My memories; that is all that is left that knows that length, and that which was seen within it. Then again, that is all that ever did. When I am gone, it will be forgotten, a truth and a history lost forever no matter who or what tries to find it. I think that is why I write this now. A record, or a lament, of the most significant being of all time. It is a prideful exaltation of endless triumph, or the dread condemnation of infinite evil. I don’t know which; I shall leave it for others to judge. I could explain further, of course. I could list the sins that have been committed, the deeds that have been done. Yet for now, I believe this is enough. Her story will speak for itself. About the good, and evil, in the heart of a single girl burdened with more than her fair share. And how she reacted to it. So, I will tell her story. Of gods and devils, mortals and monsters, of legends long forgotten and civilizations long turned to dust. And in the end, I hope she knows herself, whether it is salvation, or destruction, she should receive.

Birth of an AntiHero
AntiHero's FIRST REWRITE IN THE WORKS - thanks!! :] EDIT 2/28/22 - sorry, health problems right now, but I will post after rewriting the first 80-90,000 words or so and start fresh from there! Expect the change to be uploaded before summer! So long as I can keep using my hands, that is~! ^_^ X] This story will indeed get fleshed out as my vision improves for the better. But I feel the need to emphasize that a lot of parts are written in improvised comic book format as my primary writing style, and this first book is actually the entry point and starting novel for an entire very vast series I am in the works of developing. Many side characters here will eventually be main characters with there own stories; long or short. But this one particularly will be focused and centralized around Noel. Because of this, I do plan to leave the introduction for side characters as still having a special flow for readers to witness a tad of their background, so keep that in mind after my 'obviously many' rewrites from now and going into the future! Sorry for the troubles! I will improve on my style and implementation of the story!(Although I DO plan to keep parts as 'play style' or rather, comic book style, since I find it easier for certain dialogue instances as well as the fact that the novel is inspired by that 'feeling' you get while reading comic books. But my style is still evolving, you were warned!) Thank you! - Noel Tyler Malierano. He's the youngest 'son' to receive approval from 'The Malierano Family': A Criminal Organization of hitmen and hitwomen that specialize in killing, even maintaining success within a vastly superpowered society. Noel finally manages to complete his training as the newest 'Elite' killer his family created...but, there's just one problem - He doesn't want to kill! Come along and delve into a society of conflicting morals through the eyes of a boy, desperately searching for a new path to follow. Can he even manage to free himself from his father's engrained teachings and ideals? Conversely, will killing prove a lot more difficult to ignore? --- --> Thank you very much for reading! It would be helpful for me if you all consider leaving me a comment or an inbox suggestion, a review or even a full rating wherever AND whenever you believe I need to improve on anything or if something I wrote irked you! I appreciate EVERYONE that comes to read my story, however I DO want to improve my work as a writer. I hope all of you who don't like my work will let me know somehow, so I can edit and IMPROVE my story as a whole! Thank you everyone for your time! --- JUST TO NOTE!! When a character has a cultural name like, say, a Japanese or Russian name, that is because that character IS Japanese or Russian! They don't have to be FULL of one ethnicity either - sometimes they will be mixed. This story mainly takes place on an artificial continent where all countries have sent over their respective talents, meaning characters of ALL cultures and ethnic backgrounds will show hints of that in their names. Please don't assume I'm just randomly naming characters names that don't match them. And feel free to talk to me about whatever in my story troubles you - no matter how small! I love to improve. ^-^ X] --- Just to note: Characters will slowly grow as time passes. Slow pace. THANKS for reading! Enjoy! :] --- Decided to post 2 chapters every Tuesday and Friday instead of taking a small break, but I MAY upload once in a while on different days, such as Sundays, in addition to those two. :]
