《Shining Duos》Final Stage And Divine Markings

"What the hell is this, some jungle?"
From all his eyes can see, the dark grim-looking forest was planted out right in front of him. The wood was mysteriously black if one were to gaze upon from the outside, and even then, color on the trees and grasses was dark green.
"No other options, but to move forward, I guess..."
Taking one more look around, he walked straight into the strange dark forest while also keeping his guard up for any surprise attacks. When he got into the woods, he couldn't help the nagging feeling that someone or something is watching him.
'Shit, I know for sure something going to come out and try to mess me over, but where the hell do I even go. Oh! Of course.'
Raising his palm, he generated a red ball of electricity to illuminate the desolate forest a bit.
'Thinking about it, I wonder just what was it that activated during my fight with the beast, and yet it feels so natural and comforting to me. Hmm...'
Getting a sudden idea Kazami stop all movement and even put away his electricity ball. Now in the suffocating darkness, he closed his eyes and started to concentrate and focus.
Reaching deep inside himself, he vaguely remembered the feeling his Divine Marking had given him during the threat of death. In the past, his Divine Marking had always laid dormant and never reacting to anything.
But now because it ignited on its own to wake up Kazami and then Kazami awaken it on his own to kill the beast, he can vaguely sense an unknown godly power inside himself.
It was right in the middle of his dantian, a small but bright pure silver that was still able to illuminate his whole body. Feeling that power inside his dantian; it was like another arm or leg and then;

'WHIR!'
On his forehead, his Divine Marking once again shined silver, but it wasn't as bright as when he used it on the monster. Although this time, Kazami felt the changes to his body and mind.
'Holy, I feel like a God in this state, my body and mind feel like they got improved by nine times. And my Qi feels like it can rip anything apart, though it takes a lot of Qi energy to use. Let see how fast I can rip through here.'
Gaining more and more confidence, Kazami bent his legs and got into a running stance. He waited one second, two seconds, three seconds and;
'BOOOOM!'
Like a missile, he blasted off with insane speed pushing all the trees and bushes around him. While running in some unknown directions, he decided to form only a red lightning aura for light; however, he notices something.
'It only has taken an instant now in this state! Then what about...'
He is experimenting more while he as still running, he dispels his lighting aura and forms a red ice aura. And just like lightning, it developed in an instant.
'Ah-ha, not only does this state drastically improve my power, but it also helps with control.'
Stopping after some unknown time, he dispelled his red ice aura and ended his Divine Marking; as he was getting exhausted and losing his Qi at a rapid pace.
'RUMBLE!'
'The hell is that... OH, SHIT!'
Looking back behind him, he took in everything falling into a massive earthquake that was quickly destroying all in its path.
Without a second thought, Kazami rushed off again only this time he didn't have enough Qi to activate his Divine Marking and was significantly slower than last time.
But then he notices in the distance a soft white light that was shining through all the trees. This light was giving Kazami a secure and protected feeling, so he decided to run straight at it as it was his only option.

He got into a distance where he could see just what is causing the light, and he saw a white portal that looked inviting to jump into.
'Ah, here we go, but wasn't this a bit easy? I feel like I skipped a lot of things or something. You know what, fuck it.' Right, when he got close to the white portal, the ground was cracked and was ready to break apart, but instead of going in it, he jumped up over the gateway and dive straight into the darkness.
Right as he was diving, the white portal astonishingly unleashed five white spikes that went straight forward to impale him!
'Heh, I thought so, I may have skipped most things here, but I'm not stupid.' The spikes were extremely fast, and in mere seconds they were only five meters apart from him, and looking ahead, Kazami gazed upon a black portal coming closer and closer towards him.
Knowing with the spikes speed and his speed, it won't be long before it tore through him.
From this guess, he decisively turned around and created a red lightning-ice shield, but it wasn't for defense.
'KA-CHA!'
'BANG!'
Knowing his shield would get teared up by the spikes as soon as the shield got filled with cracks and close to breaking, he overloaded the shield with Qi, and it busts open right when the spikes destroyed it and tossed Kazami straight into the black portal.

Tales of the 33rd universe - A Mech Designer story
Meet Marcus Caelum, since young he wanted nothing else to play with mechs. He studied, worked hard and he finally did it, now he is a Mech Designer (provisional).He achieved his dream and now is the time for realization, he now will learn that not all is great, that there are things to learn and that if he wants to do the job well he better adapt. Cover taken from a Battletech manual. This is my "first" novel so do forgive the quality a bit.It is mostly a Slice of life following what I believe a Mech Designer life would be. It will have action, science, comedy, dark moments and some adventure. It will barely have any romance and little actual combat (he won't go off fighting enemies everywhere, the MC is not a fighter). It's medium sci-fi, most hard science with some mana altering normal materials.The pacing is a bit slow, it takes some time for the story to advance.The first arc is completed and the novel is until further notice on HIATUS.I may continue the Tales of the 47th Universe to try my hand at another style and pacing. More info in chapter 22.
