《The Assassin System》Chapter 3 : Forced Agreement

"Let me get this straight. Your saying that your part of the Beta test on Astral Fantasy."
"Yes I am host."
"If so, Then why is it like this?!!!?"
As of currently, Lilia is sitting on a bench somewhere on the university's private park.
Yes, Camara University is that rich. Exponentially, this was done by the previous Director with the excuse of the students well being. The private park was also huge that there was even a small lake formed.
Back on topic, Lilia was questioning the voice in her head due to how sudden the situation was.
This time though, she was keeping sure that 'she was talking within her head' instead of actually using her mouth.
"Host, what do you mean?"
"Astral Fantasy is a game. A. GAME. It isn't some random hi-tech company that makes their users go crazy."
"......"
Seeing as the voice didn't reply back to what she said, Lilia gave herself an victory pose.
"See, your not replying back. It means I'm right, right?"
"Not exactly host. I was just analyzing what you said."
Confused, Lilia asked.
"Eh? What do you mean by analyzing?"
"Well host, to you and many others, Astral Fantasy is a game since you saw the stuff like the game trailer and interviews, right?"
Seeing as the voice was right, Lilia nodded.
"Well, I'm sorry but, get smacked by reality host, since all of those was just propaganda to promote people from accepting the actual purpose."
Lilia felt a vein popped in her forehead.
"Th-this is making me irritated. Stop mixing facts would you." She thought.
"Actual purpose? What do you even mean by that?"
"It's useless to get silently angry at me host since I'm inside your head."

"And host, I'm not mixing facts but it's the actual truth."
"And for your last two questions. I'll answer that once you accepted the harsh reality presented to you."
Tired to even try and argue, Lilia just asked.
"So, what's this truth you speak of?"
"......"
After Lilia asked this, the voice in her head went silent.
She waited 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes. The voice didn't reply nor even said anything.
"Hey, you still there?"
"......"
"Hello? Anybody home?"
"......"
"Do-Don't play with me now. It took me a great deal of hardwork and precious time just to convince myself that i am not going crazy."
*Beep*
"What the!!"
A screen appeared right in front of Lilia's face, which in turn, surprised her.
On the screen's display, it said,
******
"Hello there beta tester. If you can see this prompt, it means that you have come to the point of accepting the harsh reality we slapped you with.
Now, we'll give you two choices. One is to agree, and the other is to disagree.
If you agree, then that's great. You'll receive a bonus free skill and peasant rank training module as a reward. (Note : Beta testers only)
If you disagree, then you'll receive severe concussions and severe headaches as the system you had received would leave you for good (although you won't escape it in the near future as it would come back to you.).
Oh and yeah, here's another bonus. If you want to know what's Astral Fantasy and whats that voice your hearing inside your head is. Then agree to it.
******
"....."
"#$@$&!!!"
"There's your choice host. It's just now up to you on what you choose."
"Choice?!!? There is no choice!! It's basically saying agree or you die!!"
"You won't exactly die host, you'd just received severe concussions and severe headaches. That's all."
"That's all?!?! Alright then, as great as you are, on what percentage are my chances of dying if I disagree?"
"Base on my host's feeble and frail body, you would have a 97% chance of dying."
"See!!"
"Host, as I said. Not exactly. See, you still have a 3% chance of survival."
"To hell with your 3%!!"
Giving herself a constrained sigh, Lilia felt like she just aged 50 years faster.
She knew that due to her 'curiosity', she was given such choices that wasn't even choices but a yes and yes type of choices.
After calming her strained mind, and gave the matter some thought, she asked.
"Is there a time limit to this?"
"There is no time limit host, but it is recommended to make a decision in utmost haste."
"Utmost haste? Why?"
"Host, there are only 500 beta testers as of currently. And by now, I'm pretty sure that there are already 131 people that accepted it."
"The more that accepted it, the lesser the opportunities you could get."
"Host, just agree already. The faster you say it the better it is for the both of us."
Lilia gaped in shock when she heard that 131 people have already accepted it. What were these people thinking?
"This....... Can't i have more time to think about it."
"Host, just say i agree."
"Uh what? I cant just say that."
"Host, what can't you say?"
"I said i cant just say i agree."
*Initializing answer. Answer verified*
*Upgrading the system. Thanks for accepting. Giving rewards after the upgrade is finished.*
"Wha?!? You!! Whats happening?!"
Lilia began to see hexagons all around her. The sky, ground, trees, etc. Anything within her sight had hexagons on it.
"Finally."
The voice within Lilia's head suddenly said this. Much more, it sounded relieved.
*!!! Mental energy not enough for system upgrade. Using the host's body metabolism as extra energy source.*
"Thanks for accepting host. Good night for now."
"Wait!! What do you mean??!"
A searing pain then enveloped Lilia's head. It was so painful that she didn't notice that she was already shouting in pain loudly, that even those that were far from her location could hear it.
She then felt weak. So weak that perhaps even a light breeze could topple her already.
After that, the lights of the setting sun disappeared from her view and she then plunged into darkness.
