"Who are you?"

Her gaze, full of determination in finding out about me, locked onto me unwaveringly. The others looked a little worried for some reason and the atmosphere in the room felt heavy.

I glanced at Lily and Vincent, wondering if they're not planning on helping defending the kingdom. Lily found out the meaning of my glance and said. "I received word from Famah, they managed to successfully drive away the remaining demons and subjugated the remaining ones who remained to fight."

"I see... I didn't expect this to come this early." I muttered to myself.

"I-" However, just as I was about to explain, I heard some commotion from outside the room.

"A-Adventurer-sama, you can't go in there, t-the royal family is currently having a private conversation!"

"I-It's no good, they're too strong for us to stop!"

At that moment, the door to the room slammed open, Kagami and Tanya walked in without paying attention to the others.

"Hmm? What might the two of you be doing here? Tanya-dono and Kagami-dono? As you can see our family is having a private conversation." Asked the queen with a smile on her face, however, beneath that expression, there is a faint hint of anger that one can feel emanating from her.

Before things took a turn for the worse, I immediately spoke up.

"I apologize for their sudden intrusion, your majesty. But these two are more or less related to what I'm about to tell everyone." When the queen heard the way I addressed her, she showed a downcast expression for a moment which she immediately removed. "W-Wait a second, these are all hard for us to take in so suddenly!" complained the King.

"So you're saying that you are the 142th otherworlder who was rumored to be missing, and these 2 are your subordinates of some sort? But what about the 40 heroes?" asked the queen, her tone of voice implies that she's still shocked by what I just said.

"Kagami and Tanya are one of the 42 heroes that got summoned, I faked their disappearance in order to give them a new identity which gives them more freedom than the heroes who are expected to battle demons and also....."

In the end, I explained almost everything that I can to them, but of course I omitted the events in the realm of the gods and my life and history on Earth. Everyone was silent as they listened on to what I just said.

"I see... so that's how it is..." In the end, all of them fell into deep thought, which is why I decided to leave them for now.

"I will await what kind of punishment you have for me, for now I'll take my leave. If you want to find me, I'll be at the inn on the inn where these two are currently staying at. Oh, and also..." I muttered as I looked at the scroll which is currently glowing in red.

"L-Lucas-sama! that is..."

"Don't worry Tanya, just leave this to me."

I looked over at the others who are currently in shock.

"With this, you wouldn't have to worry about me escaping. Now then, I'll take my leave."

"Wait.." just as I was about go out of the room, the queen stopped me.

"What is it?" I asked her.

"You can just continue using your room..."

"Are you sure? aren't you afraid of me attacking everyone if I get the chance?"

"If it were another person, I would've certainly refrained from making this offer, but you're different."

"Different? How so?"

"I know a bad person when I see one, and you're definitely not one of them. Besides, if you really are an evil person, you wouldn't have saved us earlier, especially when you know that you'll get found out. I never fail to reward those who deserves it." said the queen as she looked outside the window.

"I see, I'll take you up on your offer then." and with that, I leftt the room. "Haah, I should've known that this would happen, I really shouldn't have accepted this role... Did the return of my emotions cloud my judgement? I felt elated at the offer and didn't even think about considering the other party's feelings, I've been selfish..."

..After Lucas left the room the queen finally broke down, the king and their children consoled her...

2 days have passed since then and they're still not calling me, I'm still at the usual room reading books with necessary information about this world and its magic. The issue has been kept private, so in the eyes of the public, I'm still the second prince. After all, if the issue was publicized, the royalty's reputation would be damaged.

Knock knock*

Someone knocked on the door, and judging by their presence, it's Airi. I closed the book, got up and opened the door. There stands the little princess with a faint cheerful look on her face.

"Did something good happen to her?" I thought to myself.

"Is it time?" I asked her.

"Yes."

I quietly followed her to the throne room and there I saw the usual 6 members of the Elune family. Without further ado, I immediately gave them a bow as a sign of greeting. Since the matter has been kept in private, only the 8 of us are currently present in this room, there's not a single knight or maid in sight.

The queen stood up from her seat and spoke. "Have you been well these past few days?" she asked me.

"Yes" I immediately answered.

"Then I would like to get straight to the point.. You are to continue on being this country's second prince, this is going to be your punishment." she said to me firmly.

"Eh?" I didn't expect this to happen at all. At best I could get off with is exile and the worst, execution. But I literally did not expect this.

"Are they planning on having me keep my position for the public eye to see so that the public won't find out about their blunder while I become their servant or prisoner behind the scenes? No wait, I don't think these people will do that, then why?" I thought to myself as I tried to find out what they have in mind.

All of a sudden the queen stood up from her seat and started walking down towards me, I don't what she's gonna do but I just stood there as if I'm frozen in place. The distance between us suddenly disappeared when I suddenly felt her arms wrap around me.

"From now on you're our son, no matter what anyone says, even if we're not related by blood."

"B-But why?" I asked.

"It's not a matter of repaying you for saving us, I just feel like... accepting you will be the best decision I can make. Besides, I'm sure that yura is happy that our family can be complete again."

"Yura? that must be the name of the original second prince." I thought to myself.

I looked at the others and they are just smiling at us as if they're looking at a heartwarming scene.

"I can't really figure out what you are thinking." I said to her. Shortly after we wrapped up this meeting and I felt the presence of Tanya and kagami who were watching us from a hidden spot disappear. In the end, the problem has been somewhat resolved, and I was allowed to continue living here.

Under the cherry blossom tree, there sits a woman. Irene, the God of creation. Her closed eyes suddenly opened when an image of Lucas appeared on the water inside the cup before her. She held the cup with her right hand and gazed upon the image. Slowly, she opens her mouth.

"I want to look into your future so bad, I want to know if you will be the one. Your fate.... will definitely be an interesting one, Lucas. I look forward to our next meeting." she uttered these words under the beautiful tree amidst the falling petals, creating a divine image.
