《World tag#001》Chapter013

The only way to describe what happened, in the blink of an eye, is to say...
- What the @#$% ?!
Cursing apart, my vision changed in a game-like interface, that followed all my eye movement. Neat and at the same time frightening.
- I'm really feeling more and more slipping from reality... I need to focus, breathe in breathe out...
I have to admit that, as vexing as it is, apart from the starting surprise this HUD-thing it's really exciting. Little sensible to the classics, I believe, this "interface" have two spheres in the left and right corner down at the edge. And seeing their colors, red and blue, my guess is that they stand for health and mana.
- Well that much is easy to check later.
In the high corner a black globe with "UNKNOWN" written on top is a map, I suppose, and another green one complete the ensemble.
Still looking around, trying to get used to have four balls in the corner of my vision, I found that concentrating on one of the spheres made it more opaque and the opposite was also true. "Funny" thing even with my eyes closed they remained there.
- It really will take some time to get used... But if the red is health, blue stand for mana and the black is a map what's the green one for? Mmmmm... If concentrating made them more visible maybe that's the key...
I concentrated on the green sphere and, after a few trial and error, a menu like the one on the mirror filled my vision.
MenuAvatar StatusMapSkill list*Locked*
While the locked one is suspicious, all the other voices listed seems identical to the one displayed before. Opening the m one by one confirmed my guess. The status, map and skill menu that opened before my eyes where the same, the best thing was that now I could check them without talking to a screen.

- An improvement yes, but I don't know if this is more or less crazy than that.
To test the other part of the interface was pretty straight forward, a small cut confirmed that at the decreasing health the red globe flashed and shrunk a little. Not really precise but I suppose consulting the status overcome this limit.
Just like for the health, making a little flame shortly appear made the blue sphere flash and shrink.
While waiting to see how fast they returned to the beginning size, similar to a tennis ball I think, I noticed a disturbing fact. While previously the cut on my hand took a while to close and scar this time the cut was closing much faster.
- Supposing there's a sense in this system, the only explanations could be the "Human I" change or the increased health...
I shook my head thinking at the increasing list of things to test and doubts to clarify, and so I did one of the things that always freed my mind for overthinking, manual labour.
Two tube-like parts of the bed frame, and four square connector, remained still untouched from my previous experiments so I started to think what to do. I made already a blade, big like a kitchen knife, from a metal strip and, with some difficulties, combining part of the sheets with the others metal strips and bended tubes gave me forearms, shins and torso armour.
- The whole thing made me look like an idiot that made poor life choices, and that's being nice...
Anyway, looks apart, the armour seemed functional from the few swings I made with the blade.
So going in the same direction as before I decided what to do. Leaving one of the square alone to use like a, albeit blunt, file I first started cutting long strips from the remaining sheet. Remembering the few information I knew about braiding ropes I started working to see if I could make one or more.
I have to be honest and say it's mind-boggling boring task, but it gave me time to calm down, settle my mind and sift trough my thoughts.
The end result was rustic but functional and gave me some ideas how to improve my previous crafts.

The Black Knight of the Demon King
I was once like everyone else. I had a family, went to school, played sports, and had a decent amount of friends, but then one day that all changed. What was the thing that had happened to me you might ask? Well, in short, I was abducted, but if we're being technical, what actually happened was me being summoned to this world called Atalan. However, I wasn't summoned as a hero or this great sage or a wizard or any of that stuff. No, I, Donovan Rutherford, had been transported to this world to be the one and only Black Knight of the Demon King and to defeat the Hero and his companions.(The Cover Photo is from DnD, aka Dungeons and Dragons, which isn't something I own. Well, I own one of the boardgames, but you all know what I mean. Anyways, like my other story I consider it more of a 2D world, but that's just me.)

Monolith
If you like my work, donations are greatly appreciated! Monolith is a tale of fantasy, which quickly fades into dark fantasy. We are introduced to members of the Aerys family just before they are torn away from each other and tossed into the fray. They will need to endure and survive the many conflicts of this world at war and forge alliances with past enemies to combat the even darker threat ahead. Monolith will feature grim battles against grotesque beasts and tyrannical lesser gods. Heroes, favourites, and foes may be lost in the strife. Join Reid as he struggles to keep his small settlement safe and protects a secret from his family in the mysterious cellar. Follow Hailey on a journey into the woods to discover the magical world. Will Jon and his young cousins follow in the dark footsteps of their family or will they set out on their own path? Author's Notes: My work is often graphic and mature in nature. I only recommend it for the fans who are not faint of heart. This work will contain swears, violence and occasional sexual dialogue. With that fair warning done, I plan to constantly edit previous chapters as I go back to them, so they are all subject to change over time. Most of the events will remain the same but as I get more time to write I'd like to add details that I couldn't add while constrained for time. Thank you for taking the time to check out Monolith! Really appreciate it. Hope you enjoy it and look forward to the upcoming events!

Faeos Book One: The Stuff of Legends
A ragtag assemblage of adventurers, scraped together by seeming circumstance, investigate the theft of an ecologically essential artifact. In so doing, they find themselves embroiled (as adventurers so often do) in the larger machinations of a mischevious gnome, a determined mage or three, and a dire threat to their homes. Based on a homebrew Pathfinder campaign begun several years ago, and still running. Faeos is one part combat, one part character building, and one part entirely justified silliness. Blame any lead character weirdnesses on my players, whom I love. Blame everything else on me. Oh, and yes, this should also be tagged "Unreliable Narrator."

Oracle by Default
Oracles are known as divine handouts passed down from the Holy Creator. There are times when evil exist and the Holy Creator wishes to intervene, to which the title of the Oracle is bestowed upon an individual to become the Creator's will in physical form. The Oracle's mission is to then gather heroes from different races to purge the evil. “For the reckoning that is to come, all are tested. Thou shall be the shadow of which valiant souls shine and guide thee through harsh trials. Till oblivion comes, do not turn astray but to continue down the path thou chosen to walk. Lastly, thou must not see eye to eye with, but against the world.” A mysterious man engraved a seal onto Kihet before saving him from being consumed by the flames. The seal seems to have a strong connection with the legends of the Oracle and a Tower with no entrance that suddenly sprouted near the village. Throughout years, his efforts to study the strange tower remained fruitless. Then one day, the village decided it was time for his friends and him to become envoys to look for the potential evil the Holy Creator detected. Before Kihet can set off on his journey alongside his friends, he has his own set of problems to overcome against the village. Note: It's slow. There is romance, but it plays a small role that I don’t know if I should add it in the tags. Main story starts at Chapter 12. Chapters before do contain meaningful context for the rest of story.
