《Legend of the Void Walker》Chapter 49: Back to the Void

"Oooohh! They just keep coming, don't they?" I exclaimed at the multiple energy signatures coming my way. Upon exiting the Dining Hall, there are at least a dozen of mages who tried to stop me. Unfortunately, these weaklings couldn't even sate this empty feeling deep inside me. These new challenges seem to be a lot stronger. "They look a lot more appetizing than these wretches. Finally, some good food."
I sat on the pile of collapsed mages as I waited for the new challengers. Not even a minute passed when 6 mages arrived. I gaze at the mages surrounding me and sighed. "Just 6? I am really disappointed." I hoped there would be more.
"We are enough for scum like you." A large man exclaimed.
Hmmm. I guess they will do for now. Oh! There are a few hiding in a distance. "You should call the others in. This is not some first come first serve shit."
Seemingly surprised that I was able to detect their companions. "Hmph! So you're quite a Detector aren't you pipsqueak?"
"Have quite the mouth also. Has knocking out these weaklings got to your head and now you think you're some big shot? Dream on. We are far stronger than these losers." A woman chimed in.
"You don't even have to surrender, after all the shit you've stirred here, we need to teach you a lesson. You don't make trouble with the Organization and not pay for it." A lanky man said in a mocking tone.
"Blah blah blah. Just come here already. So that the others could join once I am through with you." They seem to be taken aback after I didn't get affected by their threats. "If you don't want to come. Then I will." I then make the energy inside me explode, expanding the Black Aura around me, before dashing towards the lanky fellow.
"He's fast!" The lanky man exclaimed as he jumps away to put distance between us.
"Bad move!" I said before grabbing a rock in the ground and let loose an Amplified rock throw.
The man's eye goes wide as the rock approaches him at fast speed. He is still mid-air so he doesn't have a way to dodge unless he knows how to fly. Fortunately for the man, he was able to do a quick chant and yell. "Shell!" As his Aura burst forth, taking the brunt of the attack. Even with an Aura, it should have done some damage to him.
I tried following up and end the man quickly but I felt an intense amount of mana approaching me. Basing on my senses, it feels like a truck approaching at high speed. Turning my head, I see the large man has also Amplified his Aura and is charging at me. "Ho ho… Interesting." I smiled and stretched my arms as if to welcome a good friend.
Seeing that I am not doing anything to dodge his charge, the large man smiled as if he has already won. He is now only 10 meters away, 5, 2, and…
"Guh!" The air in my lungs is forced out as the man connected his shoulder to my chest and I was flung into the air and tumbled backward before hitting the wall of a building. Damn it! It hurts! My timing was off.
Laughing as if he already won, the large man celebrated. "Gotcha you rat! All that talk and you're… Wha---?" His words as he saw the rubble pinning me down moves.

Pushing the last slab of rock off me. I stood slowly and coughed a blob of blood and spat on the floor. My chest hurts, it seems it was caved in. That man, he powered through my full-powered Amplified Aura. Not enough. Not enough power. I need more. I then smiled sinisterly as I gaze at the group in front of me.
Seemingly offended by my smile, the large man roared and Amplified his Aura once more. "None of you intervene. I will finish him myself!" He roared before charging at me again.
My caved chest is now fully recovered. I need to time this perfectly. Don't want a caved in the chest again. So hard to breathe with punctured lungs. Seeing the man charging at me at full power I smiled. "Perfect. Food delivery." I exclaimed as I stretched my arms once more as I did earlier.
The looks like he is not pleased as if the action insults him and his Aura flared ever greater than before. 10 meters, 5, 2, and now! Right before his shoulder hit my chest again, I Amplified my Aura and grab on to his body. Earlier, my timing is off, and wasn't able to get hold of him before getting hit. This time, I did it!
"Hmph! Do you think you could stop me? I will just continue charging like this and break some walls with your body!" He roared as he continued to bulldoze through the halls of the building, breaking a pillar, another wall.
Hehehe. Yeah. You may think that you are winning but… Grah! That hurts! I need to end this now. I thought as I was slammed against another wall. I think I have absorbed enough of his energy. It's time to get the rest.
"What are you smiling about? Get ready to get crushed!" He roared once more and was about to crush me against the wall.
But before he could, I planted my feet on the ground, creating a ditch as I force the man to stop in his tracks.
"You think you could stop me?" He said in a high and mighty manner.
"Cheeky boy. I guess I've let you have enough fun." Time to kick it up a notch! I let my Aura explode making my power skyrocket as I empty his. Finally, he stopped in his tracks.
"Wha- what's happening? I feel weak. What did you do to me?!" He stumbled back and fell to his knees.
"Man, you really justify the stereotype of muscle-bound idiots being dumb." I slowly walk towards him and grabs him by the neck. "Hope you enjoyed dragging me around. Cause it's my turn now." I smiled before smashing his face in the ground soliciting a muffled groan from the large man. "Let's have some fun!" I whispered to his ears before running forward while dragging him, face-first against the floor. I then threw him against the wall, embedding him in it, before I jumped and kick him through it. "Missed me bitches?!" I roared at the mages waiting outside the hall.
"Raymond lost? How can that be?!" The lanky man shouted in disbelief.
"I'm coming!" I shouted before running towards the nearest mage, all the while dragging the unconscious Raymond by his heel. The other mages quickly started to chant while my target runs away, but I am not letting her. With Amplified steps, I quickly closed the distance between her and me. "Gotcha bitch!" I shouted before using the unconscious man as a bat and hit her as she tries to jump away. "Home run!" I triumphantly said before I sensed multiple incoming energy signatures. "Protect my shield!" I shouted as I threw Raymond to block the incoming spells. The body was hit by multiple spells like fireball and lightning, causing it to explode upon contact.

"Raymond! NO!!!" The last woman left standing yelled in terror.
"Man. You're a heartless bunch. You Chao-Tzu'd your own companion. Tsk tsk tsk. Heartless indeed." I said in a sad voice, mocking them.
"You coward! Using an unconscious man to block our attacks! Fight like a man!" The short guy shouted.
I laughed upon hearing his words. "Fight fair? You have the gall to tell me to fight fair? Look at you. Ganging up on a lone man, and you tell me to fight fair. Also, calling me a coward? Hooo boy! You have no idea!" I then laughed maniacally as I kick a chunk of Raymond's remains toward the woman, which made her shriek. These people are indeed stronger. But they don't seem to have a lot of battle experience, that's why they lose their focus just by seeing one of them die in front of their eyes.
"Spread out!" The short guy yelled and the lanky fellow quickly followed his lead. The woman, however, was still shaken after the remains of her comrade fell in front of her.
Oh, how I love me a defenseless target. I thought as I quickly close in on her. She was able to regain her senses and started to flee but it was far too late. I was about to grab her hand when I electric current runs through my veins.
"Got you!" She laughed as she continued to funnel electricity from her hand to my body. "Doesn't feel as great when you're on the other end, does it?"
"Graaahhh!" My mind is going white in pain as the smell of my burning flesh fills the air. But I need to power through the pain. Gritting my teeth, I grabbed the hand of the woman, causing her to be electrocuted by her own spell. "Gyahahaha! How does it feel? Doesn't feel good does it bitch?!" Her eyes went white as she lost consciousness and the effect of her spell with it. I then started to absorb all her energy as my burn wounds heal automatically.
"Bastard!" The lanky man shouted before launching a fireball.
"Jet! NOOO!" The short man warned him.
Too late. "Ooops!" I said as I used the unconscious woman as a shield. Her body burst into flames instead of exploding like my previous shield. She still has some energy left that she must've used to defend against the fireball. Oh well. Might as well absorb it all. Hehehe. "What did I say? Heartless."
"Damn you! You dare mock us?!" The lanky man shouts in grief.
"What? I haven't killed anyone here. All those deaths, they're on your hands." I said while shrugging. "How about we end this so that the others may have a go?"
"RAAAAAHHH!" The lanky man shouts as his energy begins to run wild.
"That's more I like it! Go and show me what you got!" Wow, so much energy for me to take! I quickly ran towards the lanky man as a man dying of thirst when he sees water. But before I could reach him, the short guy shoots a blast of lightning which I barely dodged. "You fuck! Don't get in my way!" I shouted before going towards my target again. As I was about to reach the man, he suddenly vanished. In his place was the short guy.
"Too bad. Even if you make me your human shield, it will still not save you from what comes next." The short guy smirked and grabbed me. "NOW!" he yelled.
I look in the direction where the short man was standing earlier and there he is, the lanky man with all his delicious energy. All of his energy then focused on his hands.
This is dangerous! I can't tank this! Must think quickly!
I try to shake the short guy who is grabbing me like a monkey. You don't want to free me? How about this?! I grabbed his side and started absorbing his energy. His face became alarmed but still didn't let me go. I'm not going to make it! I am starting to get alarmed as the energy of the lanky man finally all converged to his hands.
"Die you bastard!" He then points both his hands towards me. "Flame Blast!" He shouts as fire burst forth from his hand like that of the energy blast in dragon ball z and completely disintegrates everything before him, debris and the unconscious bodies of the weaklings, everything.
The wide stance of this short guy prevents me from moving left or right. This bastard, I am not absorbing his energy fast enough. Oh, I know! As the Flame Blast approaches at an insane speed, I quickly Amplified my whole body to its maximum power and, jumped 4 meters high over the beam with the short man still clinging to me. The lanky man was surprised that I dodged his attack and was about to redirect his aim toward me. That won't do. "How about you make yourself useful," I whispered to the short man who has already lost all his strength and lost his hold on me. I then grabbed him by his robes and threw him at the lanky man before he could point his death beam at me. The two collided and the Flame Blast ceased to be.
I quickly ran towards the lanky man to absorb his energy but was disappointed to find out that he was all out. He must've used all of his energy on that last attack. "Damn it! It's because of you that all that precious energy was gone to waste!" I kicked the unconscious short man in frustration.
As I was venting my anger at the unconscious man, I felt at least four energy approach. This energy. It feels familiar. I thought before turning around to see the new challengers. "Oh! The two idiots and the ladies who fought against Mark. Long time no see." I told the mages who have arrived.
"Hmmm… Aside from that strange energy surrounding you, you're still the same asshole as before." The man who I've beaten the face before answered.
"Yeah right. Why don't you come here and I'll give you another taste of my fist. I know that you missed it." I said mockingly.
"Say what?" He was about to charge at me but he was stopped by his colleague. "Don't you stop me, Corbin? I'm going to smash his face in!"
"Calm down, stupid. Remember the plan." Upon hearing his words, the man seems to calm down. He then looks at me. "If you think that your taunts will work on us, then you're wrong. Bark all you want, but we already know your weakness. You don't stand a chance against us."
"A weakness you say? How about we test it?" I answered. In a blink of an eye, I Amplified my Aura and dashed towards them.
"Disperse!" Corbin shouts and the four of them went in different directions.
"This shit again? It didn't work earlier, why the hell do you think this will work now?" I said mockingly before heading towards the nearest enemy, a tall woman. "Here I come!" I teased her as I was only a few meters away, when a wall suddenly popped up in front of me, stopping me in my tracks. Suddenly, I felt multiple energy signatures coming at high speed. "This is your plan? I can dodge these things with my eyes closed!" I yelled as I quickly step back to let a Lightning Bolt pass, duck under an Ice Shard, jumped over an Earth Spike, I then felt the energy from behind the wall and with a backflip, I dodged a barrage of Earth Shards from the exploding wall. "Not a scratch!"
"How about this?" The tall woman then charged up another fireball and threw it towards me.
The four of them continued to fire spells one after another. Though I could dodge all of them, the continuous barrage is hindering me from approaching any of them. Damn them! They are wasting all of this energy that I could've absorbed! "This is getting old now! How about you come here and fight me like a man!" I try to taunt them when suddenly I was hit by something. "Guh!" I felt something hard hit me. Although my Aura was able to absorb much of the damage, it still kind of hurt. Before I could try to see what hit me, another barrage of spells was closing in and I was forced to dodge once more. I could try and receive their attacks, but after Amplifying for this long, I don't think if I will have enough energy to tank even one of these considering that their spell is much stronger than even the ones before. Far weaker than the energy blast of that lanky man but still levels higher than the regular magic attacks.
Damn, all this Amplification is draining me fast. I need to absorb their energy soon or I will be all out. I can already feel my head and arm beginning to hurt. All or nothing! I then picked the nearest target. The short woman is currently chanting. Here I come sweet, sweet energy! But before I could reach her, I almost doubled over as I felt something hard hit me in the side of my head. What the fuck is hitting me?! How come I could not sense it?
"Nice look on your face dumbass. Are you wondering what keeps hitting you? Want me to tell you?" Marlon taunts me. "You think you're so great. 'Oh I can sense your energies, I could dodge them all day long'. Well, how about plain rocks you fool? Could you sense them? No? Then too bad! Did you love throwing things at people huh? Now it's payback time fool!"
"Marlon you dunce! Why did you reveal the secret of our attack?!" Corbin yelled at his teammate before flinging another spell at me.
Flinging a spell with his teammates, he then answered. "Why does it matter? You said so yourself since he needs to be in close range to be able to do anything against us, as long as we continue to fight from afar then it will not be a problem."
"I don't care what you guys want to do. As long as we bring him to Mistress Mariam. I don't want to get lashed again!" A woman yelled at the two.
FUCK!!! I can't get near, and I couldn't sense these damn rocks make me deplete more of my energy just to defend against them! I need to absorb more energy soon or I will be in deep shit! "Grrrr!" I growled as another rock hit against my blind side.
"We got him! Just a little more! Put your backs into it!" Another woman yelled.
I can't take this anymore! I need more energy! I--- "Guaaaahhh!!!" I shout in pain as the tattoo in my left arm begins to light up.
"What is happening? Do I keep on casting spells at him?" A woman asked.
"I don't know. He looks like he's in pain." Another woman replied.
"I don't care. I want to kick him in his stupid face." The man chimed in.
What is happening to me? My energy! The dark energy that is surrounding me, are all being absorbed by the tattoo! The Counter Seal must've run its course and the Blood Seal that the Elf put in me is taking effect once more. "RAAAAAHHHH!" I roared in pain once more as more and more of the Void-energy is getting drawn into the seal.
"It seems you are having trouble puny human. How about I lend you my help?" A deep grating voice can be heard.
My eyes wander around, trying to see where the voice has come from.
"Silly human. You will not find me like that." The voice said. "Here, let me show you."
In an instant, I was no longer in the camp, instead, the ocean of stars filled the sky above, and only dead and empty plains can be seen as far as the eye can see.
"I'm back in the Void? How?" I wondered out loud. How could this be? I'm not asleep, am I?
"It is beautiful, isn't it? The stars, the vast empty plains. I spend a long time traversing this Plane you know? Traveling to different worlds... Searching for that lone energy that I have been waiting for, for thousands of years." The voice seems to be coming from behind me.
I turned around to see who was the figure and was shocked at what I see.
The figure laughed and declared. "Finally, I found you."

Ursus Ex Machina
Ozzy was a man of the wild. Raised in a remote village atop the world's mightiest mountain, he'd been taught to respect and revere the natural world. The realm he was born into had been there long before him, and it would remain there long after him. Sure, there was the occasional madman who threatened to destroy it, but such boasts were always empty. No one individual was actually capable of demolishing this beautiful blue-and-green ball Ozzy called home. No matter what terrible magics these villains wielded, they were incapable of causing permanent harm to the environment. Even if the planet was completely devastated, it would recover. Life would find a way to flourish, same as it always had. That was what Ozzy believed from the bottom of his heart, so he never once felt the need to save the world he loved. After all, it was never truly in danger. The world would be fine no matter what. The people were a wee bit endangered, but that was another story altogether. However, what would happen if Ozzy suddenly found himself devoid of his beloved wilds? What would the man do if the realm he knew - one of wonder, magic, and chaos - was replaced with a man-made environment of concrete, industry, and steam? Ozzy could never imagine such a thing happening, and yet that was his new reality. After losing a fateful confrontation with a mad wizard, he and his friends found themselves transported to a strange world so thoroughly alien that every waking moment feels like a fever dream. Separated and scattered to the four corners of this land, each of these adventurers will need to adapt, survive, and overcome if they hope to reunite. They would also need to do so quickly. The sooner they are able to find one another, the sooner they can figure out a way back home and have another crack at putting an end to the villain's plans. Whether such a thing was actually possible in a world with barely any magic in it was a valid concern, but Ozzy had more immediate things to worry about. For instance, why did the air smell like a perpetual forest fire? How did ships sail through the sky as if it were water? And most importantly, was the pavement he was hurtling towards at high speed much softer than it looked? Probably not, but a man could hope.
