《Waltz Under The Moonlit Night》Chapter 5 To Eternal Friendship

A week had passed since that fateful day. I spend my days at home practicing the piano, and occasionally going outside to hang out with either Yuna or Yusuke. Osamu once came into my house and asked to practice together, saying "We gotta catch up to Minami and that bastard Urahara, man," with tears in his eyes. I guess he was affected very much by the loss. We ended up having a good time, practicing and pointing out each other’s flaws. He treated me to some ramen and left saying "We should hangout more!" What an odd person he is.
Now there is only a few days before summer break ends. I'm unsure of what to do in these last few days in Tokyo. It feels like no matter what i do, It won't make me feel like it's time well spent. So I stayed home and did research on this town called Inaba, where my mother grew up, and where I will be spending a whole school semester at. From what I've gathered, the town of Inaba is a small, quiet and rural area, near the coastline of japan, with most of the people working as fishermen and various jobs related to the sea. I wonder how my mother grew up there. She really never told me much about where she grew up, but it looks like quite the place. I wonder what she did for fun back then, I wonder what kind of school she went to, what kind of people she hung out with, what made her decide to move to Tokyo. As I ponder about all of these thoughts, I can't help but get excited about my visit to Inaba.
But...I also can't help miss Tokyo... and all the people who I will leave behind. Sigh, I'm so fucking bored. As I check on the clock on the wall of my bedroom, it’s already 8pm. I haven't had lunch and dinner yet. Haha, I guess Yuna was right about me not being able to take proper care of my own body. I guess I'll grab a bite and call it a day. Sigh. Is this how I'm supposed to spend the last few days in Tokyo? How uneventful. Just as I got ready to leave, my phone unexpectedly rang. Someone was calling me. I checked on who it was and the caller is Yusuke. How odd of him to call me at this time. Now filled with curiosity, I answered the call.
"Yusuke-san? What’s up?"
"Yo, Adachi! Let's hang out at my place! I just did some huge renovation to my apartment and it feels wrong not hanging out here,"
“Your place? Well, as long as there's food then I'm fine. Haven't had anything to eat since this morning,"
"Sure, sure. I'll order lots of food. Just come over," He said in a rush
"Okay. I'll be there as soon as I can,"
"Great. See ya soon, then," He said and abruptly hung up.
Huh, that's weird. Why was he in such a rush? Well, I couldn't care less since I'll be treated to free food by Yusuke. He's usually really stingy and will never pay for others bill. I wonder what sort of Youkai possessed him. Or maybe he's just really happy about his renovation. Yeah, I guess that's it.
The walk to his apartment was quiet and uneventful and before i knew it, I had already arrived at his apartment complex. The building was fairly run down, small and old but the condition was kept as best as it could be. I guess I'll be living in one of these places once I move to Inaba, or maybe a relative’s house. You know, I can't remember why Yusuke lives alone in an apartment, while most kids his age lives with their parents. I distinctively remember him saying that he was kicked out after a heated argument with his parents. But that memory is fairly hazy and I'm not sure If It's true.

This is it then. Room 204. Yusuke's own, small, apparently renovated, apartment. I'm hoping for a good time and some good food. I knocked on the door and received no answers. I knocked again multiple times but still no answers.
"Yusuke-san? Are you home?" I asked aloud. No answer
This bastard better not ditch me for some chick I tell you. I walked twenty minutes here with a completely empty stomach, expecting for a decent meal. But yet here I am, cold, hungry and alone.
"Oi, Yusuke! You there?" I tried one last time, but still no answer.
The next time I see this bastard, I'm going to kill him so dead, he won't fucking see what's coming. Before I stormed off and left, I twisted his doorknob, and It wasn't locked. So he's home. This dude must've fallen asleep. Seriously, why invite me over if he's just going to sleep? And why doesn't he lock his door? Isn't he afraid of a robbery? He usually isn’t a clumsy guy, so I wonder what's wrong. Now I'm really concerned for his well-being. I decided to enter his apartment. His lights were completely turned off, so I switched it on and...
"Surprise!" a chorus of shouts could be heard.
There, standing in front of me, was six different people. Yuna and Yusuke were there, of course. But surprisingly, Osamu and Minami was also there, and there was two other familiar faces. I believe one of them is Yusuke's Junior in the football club and the other one is Yuna's junior. Keisuke and...Hana. As I recall were their names. The room was decorated in a very celebratory manor. Colorful decoration, balloons were floating and there was a huge sign that read "Farewell to our good friend Adachi! We'll miss you!"
"Eh...Is this a celebration for me?" I asked
"Of course, man! You're going to leave in a few days, so we decided to do something special, “Yusuke said.
"Thanks guys..." I muttered as I was overwhelmed by emotions. Suddenly, a single tear fell out of these eyes of mine.
"D-don't cry, Da-chan! We're here to celebrate, you know,"
"Sorry bout' that. I was just overwhelmed a bit," I wiped the tears.
"Enough with the cryin, let's party! Where the booze at?" Osamu asked with an eager expression.
"You ruined the moment, dumbass," Minami smacked Osamu in the head. Repeatedly.
"Ow! Quit hittin me, damn woman!"
"It's your fault for being such a dumbass,"
"Don't get cocky with me just cause you beat me in that tournament,"
"This has nothing to do with it!"
"Take it easy you two. You're scaring my juniors," Yusuke pointed at Keisuke and Hana, who were In the corner.
"We're fine, senpai. College students are something else, huh?" Keisuke asked Hana
"Yeah. No kidding," Hana shivered
"Anyways, we’re really big fans of yours, Miyazaki-senpai," Both of then approached me with gleaming eyes.
"Both of us watch your performance occasionally and it’s something else! Like a real pro!"
"Haha, it’s always nice to hear people liking my playing. Sometimes I'm not even sure if it's even good enough,"
"Eh?! You're skills are top notch. Not even those two so called "Music Majors" could hold a candle to you." Keisuke said
"Yeah. It's a shame we couldn't hear your playing here. Cause Stupid Sakamoto-senpai couldn't afford a piano,"
"I heard that!" three voice chorused in anger, as if on cue.
"I love the praise but unfortunately I'm not that good. Minami-san bested me in a competition just a week ago,"

"Really? Minami-san is that good?" Keisuke asked.
"What's with that doubtful tone, huh!?" Minami flared.
"Then what about Osamu-san? Is he better than you too?"
"Well, we both lost at the semifinals"
"So he's just a loser, huh?"
"Hey! I lost by a thin margin, okay?! Jeez, you kids are bringing back bad memories,"
"That's what a hopeless loser would say," Yuna jumped in.
"Hey! Why the hell are you suddenly on their side?"
"Cause this is going nowhere and I'm hungry,"
"Me too, haha," I said
"You skipped lunch again, didn't you!?"
"Hehe, I lost track of time,"
"Sigh. No wonder you're so skinny. If you don't take proper care of your body In your hometown, then I'm coming there personally and whop your ass. got that?" she released this demonic aura.
I shivered. "Y-yes, ma'am,"
"As expected of Yuna-senpai. You got more balls than any man here," Hana said
Of course." she replied
"Kids these days..." Osamu muttered.
"Here's the booze you asked for, Osamu-san. Since I'm still broke, I only managed to buy cheap beers" Yusuke handed a few cans of beer that you'd find in any convenient store.
"Thanks, Yusuke! Any booze is good booze. As long as I can get drunk and forget Life's endeavor, then I don't give a shit!" he opened up the can and drank a mouthful. "Now that's what I'm talking about. You want some, Miyazaki-san?" He asked and quickly receiving another slap by Minami.
"You goddamn colossal Idiot. You don't just offer beer to a couple of minors!"
"Chill out, Kaede-chan. It's a special occasion! I was drinking all kinds of shit when I was their age,"
"That's because you're an idiot!" She smacked him hard. "Ignore him. Scum will be scum," She turned to us.
"You two sure are eccentric," I laughed.
"Yeah. yeah. That's awesome. But where's the food, Yusuke? I'm so hungry I might kill you, and make Yusuke meat steak,"
"It's comin in a couple minutes! chill out, will ya?"
"That's It, I'm killin ya!" Yuna tackled Yusuke to the ground.
"H-hey! What the hell!? Get off me!" Yusuke struggled.
"Just still will ya! I'm just gonna take one bite!"
"Sakamoto-senpai! I'll save you!" Keisuke shouted.
"Don't even think about it," Hana stopped Keisuke in his tracks and pinned him down
"GYAHAHA, fight! Fight!, my money's on Yuna!," Osamu shouted deliriously in a drunken state.
As things were getting heated and everyone was having a good time, Minami sat down next to me. "What a bunch of fools, huh?" Minami said.
"Yeah. But you can't deny that these fools are creating a fun atmosphere, huh?"
"I guess so," she sighed with an expression that says "It can't be helped"
"Anyways, I'm curious on how did you get to know Osamu-san? You two always seem to be at odds,"
"Sigh. We've been friends forever, you know. Childhood friends. He's such an idiot that I'm afraid he'll get himself killed if I don't stay by his side. I sometimes wonder why I still hang around with him,"
"I guess its fate, then,"
"Fate it is," she replied.
There was a sudden knock on the front door. "Pizza delivery," a male voice could be heard.
"That's the food! Get of me!"
"Finally!" Yuna moaned.
Yusuke then proceeded to grab the food and now in front of us was eight boxes of pizza.
"You sure you didn't order too much?" Minami asked.
"Pfft, Yuna would probably eat six boxes by herself,"
"Is that so?" Minami asked
"Just wait and see,"
We opened up all the boxes and began to dig in. "Ittadakimasu!" we all shouted.
We began to eat normally, except Yuna, of course. She was stuffing herself with so much food that she finished a whole box in minutes. “Ow, Dis Piza welly gwood!" she said with her mouth stuffed with food. For us that were used to it, it was nothing, but the other two gawked in disbelief. Their jaws was practically on the floor.
"What the hell?! Are you some pro eater or some shit?" Osamu asked
"Nope!"
"Well, I guess you'll see something new every day," Minami said. "Just how are you so thin? I envy that metabolism of yours,"
"You'll get used to it," Yusuke assured.
"I fucken doubt it," Osamu replied and began to drink more beer, now on his second can. "You kids are really amazing uh? Makes me miss ma younger days," He slurred.
"You're not even in your late twenties yet. Shut up," Minami replied.
"So cold! Come on, Have a drink Kaede! The night's still young,"
"Well, I guess I'm not that hungry anymore..." she accepted the drink. "I'm already dizzy already" she said after taking a few sips.
"What a light weight!" Osamu mocked.
"LIke you're not. I can drink but cheap booze just isn't my style,"
"Quit makin' xcuses, Light weiiight! Osamu provoked.
She then chugged the whole thing. "See? No big deal,"
"One can is nutnin!" Osamu jeered, now on his third can.
"Oh yeah! give me more then!"
They then continued to drink and drink until both of their faces were bright red.
"You still think you can go on, Light weight?"
"Shut up! Give me a second," Minami said with a face that was about to throw up.
"I think that's enough guys," Yusuke said.
"OI brat! you better join in as well!" Minami shouted, now fully controlled by the alcohol in her systems.
"Um..We're underage..." Yusuke said
"Doesn't matter!" Minami then proceeded to grab a can, open it, and shoved it into Yusuke's mouth.
"If ya'll don't want the same treatment as him, then ya'll better grab a can and start chugging!"
"Like the light weight said!" Osamu cheered.
"O-okay!" Everyone then proceeded to grab a drink and started chuggin. And before you knew it, everyone passed out after barely drinking the can. I didn't pass out because I pretended drinking. Those two monsters soon also passed out after chugging a total of six cans.Hah...how troublesome. Everyone's all passed out...I guess I'll go for a smoke.
I then proceeded to go to the balcony of Yusuke's house and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. Now smoking, I stared into the endless sky. What a day, huh? But I couldn't ask for a better farewell. Now I can clearly look into the future without much regret. I guess I'm truly blessed to have such good friend. Inaba, huh? I wonder what I'll uncover there. I need to improve...I still have a long way to go to reach my father's level. All i can do is hope, huh? Hope that whatever Inaba brings, it will somehow improve my playing. I think today our bonds have deepen a little more. I hope we can continue to be friends for the rest of this short life of ours. Here's to eternal friendship.
"Sigh. Like there's such thing as eternal friendship," I muttered doubtfully as I was swept by the scenery of the night sky.
You know, for a run-down, cheap ass apartemnt, It has one hell of a nice view from up here.
