《Automata Annex》Character - Prime

Prime

Prime’s body is 4’ tall and covered in pearlescent grayish-white armor plating. Stylized seams in the armor plates reveal faint glowing blue light. Between the armor plates, dark grayish-blue mana fibers can be seen with pulses of mana flowing through them like blood through veins. Primes hands have 2 opposable thumbs, 1 on each side, and 2 fingers of equal length, his feet also have 4 toes with the center toes being equal in size and the outside toes attaching more at the sides of his feel similar to an ape’s feet but with 2 “thumbs” like his hands. His head resembles a stylized skull with a dark seam defining the appearance of a lower jaw, though it does not actually open or move. There is no nose, but his eyes appear as smoky black glass with a glowing blue light at the center that serves the same purpose as pupils.
Prime was reborn into the world of B253-X42, or locally called "Earth", after a cosmic SysAdmin accidently opened up a portal to his old world directly inside of him, killing him and corrupting his "user account". The SysAdmin, known as "Beam", managed and maintained thousands of different worlds running on cosmic servers and inserted Prime into this one as an Automata at Prime's request. To aid Prime in his new life, Beam granted the account a massive internal Inventory storage system, a wide selection of crafting skills, special abilities to interact with the Magic System of this world as code, maxxed out magic resistances, and a "nearly unlimited" mana cap.

Skills & Abilities
[Console] - Console is the entry point to all of his [Debug] or [Inspect] abilities. When used, Prime will mentally target an object with the ability. He will then see monitor screens in front of him that display information about the target object. The Console functions, largely, as a combination of Development Inspector and Code Environment. When open, he can see real-time logs of things happening to the target, as they relate to magic. From here, Prime is able to pause the magic functions of the target with a [breakPoint], view the magic code as it's working, and even make modifications to the magic code; so long as he has the permission of the target.
When targeting a non-living object, the [Console] will use [Inspect] mode and only show limited physical information about the object or mental notes that Prime has made regarding the object.
When Prime uses [Console] in crafting mode, it switches to the Code Environment and [Debug] displays. This allows Prime to test magic code before "committing" it, or saving it to its source files, as well as download and install different repositories of code bases. These code bases allow Prime to quickly install pre-developed functions, operating systems, and more, without having to write all of his code from scratch.

[Inventory] - The Inventory skill allows Prime to "upload" physical objects to an interdimensional storage system that works like file storage. Items that are put into the storage are converted to data and stored in the exact state that they were uploaded. Effects on the item are not captured. For example, a burning torch would retain the data about temperature but not the effect of flame; an object in motion would not retain its momentum or velocity when stored. The size and limits of the Inventory are currently Unknown.
[Craft Main Menu] - Under the Craft Main Menu, Prime has: [ReShape], [Mold], [Inverse Mold], [Duplicate], [Mirror], [Shell], [Mix], and [Extract]. From these skills, Prime is able to create nearly any shape he can think of, if he has the material to work with. The [Mix] skill pertains more to mixing materials for different blends or material alloys, while the [Extract] skill is primarily used for purifying material ores.
Proxies
Prime has several proxy bodies that he can connect to and use by remote control.
Alfred, Ram, & Rom

Alfred is roughly 5'9" and of a slight build. He was designed to be a butler and work with human staff as well as wear their uniforms. At some point, Alfred was given a metal moustache that was added after-market, as well as a short, spiky, silver wig.
Ram and Rom were both designed to fit in with human maids and are 5' of thin build. Both Automata had black bob-cut wigs added with headbands bolted into their skulls. Prime removed the tiera portion of the headband but left the rest of it as it reminded him of headphones.
Ram has had her muscles and plating enhanced to handle forging and wears leather overalls with a tool belt for the larger hammers and other tools she needs.
Rom has been upgraded to include a selection of precision saws and drills contained within her fingers to aid her work. She also wears a special pair of Macro Lens glasses that allow her to magnify her vision when working on tiny, intricate work.
Alfred, Ram, and Rom were originally servant class Automata that had been in the magic tool shop with Prime, waiting to be sold. When Prime and Elita escaped from the shop, these three refused to go with them, afraid to be on the run or without a master. In order to cover their escape, Elita killed all three of them. Prime saved their bodies and was later able to build them into his first proxies.
These three proxies are kept active all the time with a portion of Prime’s consciousness partitioned like a browser tab and running as a background program. Alfred is kept as the store clerk and deals with customers, selling them the magic tools and items that the shop offers. Ram and Rom have been upgraded and converted to be able to use most of Prime’s crafting skills. The two of them are responsible for producing the store’s inventory of goods.

Ram and Rom were named after the "twin" computer memory types Random-Access Memory and Read-Only Memory, and totally not after the demon maids in Re:Zero. Alfred was named after the Wayne Butler, Alfred Pennyworth.
Ram specializes in the forging and construction of the items, like swords, shields, staffs, Hot Plates, Cold Boxes, etc. Rom, on the other hand, specializes in fine detail work like jewelry as well as embedding the magic circuits and basic spells into the items that Ram builds. Alfred manages the store front and acts as the sales clerk.
None of the store proxies have the ability to use magic beyond being able to push some mana into something like the Hot Plate. Jada works regularly with the trio to teach them how to make the mundane items that sell well in her shop.
Shrapnel

Shrapnel is a transforming proxy that stands six inches tall in bot mode and transforms into a stag beetle. His name and design were based on the Insecticon Shrapnel from Transformers. Prime, largely, uses Shrapnel as a remote control drone when he needs an eye in the sky or when Shrapnel’s small size could be handy.
Prime will also use Shrapnel to perform small detail work that his own hands are too large to accomplish. For this purpose, Shrapnel has been equipped with a number of small detail tools, to include a fine blow torch and drill bits.
Carnivac

Carnivac appears to be a 7’ tall male black wolfkin with shaggy, wind swept hair and pale green eyes. He wears a loose fitting gray archer blouse with ties at the elbow, and dark gray breeches with ties at the knee. Overtop, he wears form fitting black leather armor with a thick woven strap design; seams in the design hide the hatch opening that allows Prime to climb inside. The armor covers his torso and back with an attached segmented skirt and multiple rows of buckles on both sides under the arms. 2 Black leather belts around his waist hold a satchel mounted at his butt, and a custom X sheath that holds 2 black fang style wakizashi. Carnivac does not wear bracers or gloves as he has long tufts of fur along his forearms and claws on his fingertips. He also does not wear boots or shoes as his legs and feet are shaped more like a traditional wolf’s allowing him to sprint on all fours.
Carnivac is Prime’s Adventurer disguise, it can be used remotely to move around and talk, but it’s unable to use any magic abilities on its own. When Prime is inside of the Pretender shell, it is able to use any of Prime’s developer abilities as well as a handful of Shadow magic spells.

Skills & Abilities
[ShadowCloud] - Cost: 10 MP. Casts a thick "fog" of blackness that blocks light. The cast cloud is roughly the size of a beach ball. the cloud can be cast up to 4 meters away, but requires that the target remain in sight at all times. Multiple clouds can be cast so long as there is sufficient mana available.
[ShadowBlade] - Cost: 20 MP per minute of use. The spell casts a shadow over the user's arms and weapon and replicates the shape multiple times giving the appearence of multiple attacks while hiding the real attack.
[SpeedBoost] (faked) - SpeedBoost allows for a sudden burst of speed beyond the users normal abilities. Carnivac doesn't actually have this skill, but it's faked on his profile to explain why he can move significantly faster than he should be able to.
[Leap] (faked) - The Leap skill allows for the user to jump higher than is physically possible. Carnivac doesn't actually have this skill, but it's faked on his profile to explain why he can jump higher than he should be able to.
Cyclone

The Cyclone shell was built for high speed travel and transforms into a “motorcycle” shape similar to the Dodge Tomahawk and the Lazareth LM410. At 8’4”, he’s Prime’s largest build so far. He has removable rockMortar launchers that include retractable blades for melee combat that attach to his forearms as well as heavier armor than most normal Automata. A magic driven electric motor is built into each of Cyclone’s wheels allowing for greater precision and handling. On the country dirt roads of this world, Cyclone can only reach safe speeds of up to 50 MpH, but on paved roads should be able to exceed speeds of over 200 MpH for short bursts so long as Prime’s mana supply holds out.
Cyclone was equipped with the mana crystal from a Blink Bird allowing him to use the [Blink] spell when Prime is inside, providing magical power. The spell allows Cyclone to “blink” between spaces up to 5 meters apart in a form of “Instantaneous Movement”. The ability puts a tremendous strain on his body though and should be used sparingly.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
