《Bringing Earthling to Conquer Another World》2 - The 4 Treasures

The bracelet only contains 4 items. A pendant, a disk-shaped stone slab, a crystal, and a book. He recognized the crystal, which is a Divine Crystal that contains divinity. But he didn't know about the other three. So, he threw all of the content out of the bracelet.
"What is this thing?" Joe picks up the pendant and shows it to Carmilla.
"Oh, this is a Rune Containment Pendant. You can contain rune on that thing, it's for helping students visualizing the rune effect. But, it's useless for battle because... You can only visualize it in your head, not bring it out to reality." Carmilla sighs in disappointment and shook her head as she saw the first 'treasure'.
Joe finger move to other things and asked Carmilla "And what's this?"
"That's... Creature Body Reconstruction... It's used to attach a servant soul to a constructed body. But, there is a limitation to this thing... First, you need a mortal soul servant. A mortal soul servant without any mana. Second, it's maintained by consuming your divinity. Third, the soul can only be from living mortal, so the soul on the original body will be in dormant sleep and vulnerable."
"That's why it is considered a failure treasure old master made because of so many restrictions. Although the constructed body can get stronger like a normal mortal, It is easier to get a mortal soul servant that can use mana which is stronger than a normal mortal and it is also maintained using your divinity. Sigh, I don't know why old master still holding on to this thing..." Carmilla sulked and disappointed seeing the second 'treasure'.
But Joe did not look disappointed. Because of his previous life hardship, he learns to appreciate any little help he can get, even it is useless. He moves to another object, which is a book.
He casually picked up the book called 'Rune Mastery'. Carmilla looked at Joe and shook her head. She was disappointed by this book too.
"Is this book widely available?" Looking at Carmilla's expression, Joe curiously asked Carmilla.
"No, it is Septim Family heirloom. But, it is hard to learn rune mastery even for Transcended beings. That's why the majority of people only use basic runes that only contain 1-4 runes. But, at this time it is a useless item for conquering this world." Carmilla frowned and sighed.
Joe ignored the sulky Carmilla and begin to read the book. At first, he was confused but after a while, his jaw dropped to the floor. He examined it again for the second time to make sure what he sees is real. Turns out that the rune in this world is constructed to execute a command.

For example, if you etch a fire rune on a dagger, you can infuse it with mana and the dagger will be engulfed in fire. If you etch a fire plus blast rune on a paper and infuse it with mana, the paper will blow up. If you etch a fire plus blast plus time on a ball and infuse it with mana, you essentially created a grenade. But it is hard to study rune, and it is harder to layer the rune three times or more.
Renowned runemaster usually layers 2 runes for making talisman. That's why Rune Containment Pendant is a must-have treasure for people studying rune because you can perfectly etch rune in your mind and you can layer as many runes as you can in your mind.
'But, is it the same as a programming language on earth?!? Each rune stemmed from 26 basic strokes. Just like 26 alphabets?!? Only one way to find out!' he then grabbed the Rune Containment Pendant and wear it on his neck. He concentrates on the necklace and an image appears in his mind. It's an image of his father. He then concentrates on the image and the image move. 'It is a video?!' he exclaimed in his heart.
"Joe, if you heard this image message then maybe our family end is near. You are the only hope for our family to rise again. I know that it is odd, but I got a divine revelation from Divine Being that you are the key to our family rise. Along with the four items I have left on the pendant. I don't know why the Divine Being told me to give you the exact four treasures, but maybe you know..." The image then disappeared from his mind.
He feels complicated in his heart. He shouldered an entire family fate now. But he quickly recovered and adjusting his mind. 'Well, I need to examine all the treasure thoroughly first before I can make a plan'. He then concentrates his mind and a few rune stroke option appear in his mind.
He started experimenting with a few runes from the book and time passed quickly. On the third day, he finished arranging the rune stroke according to the international qwerty keyboard.
"Huff..." He opened his eye and weariness invading his body. Sure, he is a Transcended being that can live without food for months but using mana continuously etching rune in his mind take a toll on his body.

"Carmilla, I need to rest." Joe sits down and starts meditating. He knew how to meditate because part of this previous soul memory contains meditation skills, but not combat skills.
Carmilla just standing guard there looking dispirited. After three days of looking at his master that fascinated by rune but not etch any rune in real life, she knew that it's impossible to conquer this world now.
Because his master cannot show up and invade this world in fear of another Transcended being in the void detect his presence and took his hard-earned world.
After refilling his mana reserve, he continues his experiment by making a simple program. He made the 'Hello World' executable and try it. Lo and behold, a window containing Hello World text appears!
His hypothesis is right, this rune system is the same as programming! He then spends all day without rest making simple OS. He combined Linux security with Windows friendly user interface.
A genius programmer at work is terrifying, he only needs 2 days to finish the OS! He then satisfied that he got a PC on his neck. But first thing first, he needs to make a plan to conquer this world.
"So, Carmilla, tell me. What is Void Demon good at?" Joe asked
"Umm, Void Demon is good at traversing the void. They excel in combat because it is hard to predict where Void Demon would appear. But Void Demon's weakness is their magic resistance is low. But master, I suggest that you don't appear on the surface in the flesh before you strong enough, because another void demon will detect your presence and try to conquer this low-level world." Carmilla explained.
"So, I cannot investigate this world then?" Joe shook his head in disappointment.
"You can use your power of Void Projection though. But the thing is, your projection will have only 1% of your power, so your projection would be a mortal. However, you cannot use mana and divinity, and your projection body cannot get stronger. Also, your real body will be unguarded. And if your projection is killed, you will suffer 1% of your mind and need Divinity to restore them... So, unless you very careful or strong enough, you can't be careless.." Carmilla explained.
"It's okay then, tell me how to use it. I just need to know a little bit about this Hinterland Eternal World.."Joe asked. Carmilla then told Joe how to project his avatar onto the surface world.
"First, you need to visualize the appearance of the world you want to project to. Second, infuse your mana to all your body and concentrate on one spot of the world. You have already seen this world appearance, so it would be easy." Joe nodded and try to do as Carmilla said. A few moments later, his vision suddenly changes.
...
Hinterland, Albin Continent, Lion Kingdom, South Mercer Town
Joe opened his eye and inspect his body. His projection essentially has the same face as himself, which handsome. He stood naked behind an Inn building, so he stole a few clothes before putting them on.
He then takes a stroll to the main road and admires this medieval structured town. Many years living in the metropolis city makes Joe felt a novel feeling here. As he admiring the scenery, a hurried sound was heard behind him.
"Make way, make way! The nobles are passing!" Joe that heard this, stepped away from the main road and seen a luxury carriage passed quickly. But, a man seems not to notice or doesn't care and still walking in the center of the main road.
"Make way, make way! The nobles are passing!" The coachman once again yelling.
"Ptui, I don't care if you are a noble or not. I'm Not gonna-"
But before he finished his word, one of the captains suddenly slash his neck and dispose of his body. He then returns to his horse and pretends as nothing happened. Joe who witness this flinched and sighing. He knew that something like this was bound to happen sooner or later after he transmigrated, so he forced his face to witness this gory scene to train his mind.
Why he didn't help that man then? He didn't know the man, he didn't know the nobles, so, who cares? There is no benefit for him. He then moves to the body and drags it to an empty land outside the city. At least, he will give this man a proper burial after he trains his mind from this man's misery.

But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams.
