《The Dark Star Emperors》Chapter 28: Don't Need Them

They may have looked like a a group of very good friends on that day, but their troubles have only just begun.
Jack had planned to leave Janken city to look for Annie, but decided to stay to make a thorough sweep of the city. However, that was just an excuse. She just didn't want to leave Yune or Mary, and after she was beaten by Anne, Nina, and Kira, she did realize that they were stronger together. Jack, also, didn't want to tell her two friends about Annie as she felt that there was no need to bother them with it. It was her fight and hers alone.
However, on the following day, right as their classes began, the three girls sensed a Night Demon.
Jack and Yune quickly sneaked out of their classrooms, while Mary decided to open a window and jump out through there to the utter dismay of the teacher and other students in the room. They all met up at the front gate and transformed. Nina and her group were about to transform and go, but as soon as they noticed that the other three girls had already dashed away, they decided to stay at school. To them, they saw no point in helping them, and they were confident that those three wouldn't have any trouble, either.
Yune and Mary had no intention of letting the other group of Light Guardians get the black coin, but Jack was just worried that the monster may hurt somebody.
The three jumped across the buildings until they found the creature hiding in an abandoned warehouse. The clouds darkened above them.
It looked like giant mosquito with human arms instead of legs. It was constantly flapping it's wings as it was atop a sleeping woman. It's sharp, pointy mouth pierced into the woman's chest and started to suck blood.

Jack roared and charged ahead. She wouldn't let another bystander get killed. As she attacked the creature, it cried with a buzz, "Moskitblut."
Jack stood between the Night Demon and the woman. There was a gaping hole in her chest.
As the monster tried to escape, Yune's chains surrounded it. Mary waited in the corner for a chance to strike.
"Mary! Get this woman to the hospital. Yune and I will deal with this," Jack yelled.
"What!? Why should I care what happens to her?" Mary complained, but this only angered her. Jack couldn't believe what she heard. She began to remember Annie. How she didn't care.
Jack was about to burst with flames, but remembered about the woman behind her. She calmed herself down, so that she wouldn't hurt her. Jack knelt down to the woman and took her in her arms.
"What are you doing, Jack? Forget her," Mary said, but Jack ignored her.
Moskitblut flapped it's wings harder and pushed the chains away creating a space for it to escape.
But as it left the chains, Mary dashed in and cut the creature's head off with her sharp claws. It screeched and disappeared, dropping only a black coin. Mary grabbed it and leapt down to the floor.
When Yune and Mary looked back towards where Jack was, she was already gone. Jack carried the girl and dropped her off at the hospital. She was barely breathing, but still alive.
Afterwards, Jack had met up with Mary and Yune outside the front gate of school.
"There you are. Where did you g-?" Mary asked until she was abruptly punched by Jack. She fell to the cold, rough concrete. Mary spit out some blood and felt a bruise on her cheek.
"What the hell is wrong with you!?" Jack yelled.

Mary got up quickly and angrily. "Me!? What's wrong with you!?" Mary yelled back.
Yune went between them. She knew why Jack was upset, but she couldn't let them start killing each other.
"Don't get in the way, Yune," Jack said while pointing at Mary, "I don't have a problem with you. It's this brat that I have a problem with."
Mary kept touching the bruise on her cheek and said, "Damn it. Are you some kind of psychopath? I didn't do anything to you."
"Knock it off, you two. Let's not get at each other's throats, now," Yune said.
"Stay out of this!," Mary and Jack yelled at the same time.
They both stared down each other. Jack towered above the other two, but Mary didn't care how tall or threatening Jack was. Yune stood her ground between them holding her arms out, so that neither of them would try anything. She kept a cool face during all of this, but she was worried that the team would split apart so soon. She knew that none of them would be able to survive if they separated especially since they weren't even considered human anymore.
"You didn't care at all about that woman's life," Jack said, "You only cared about killing that monster."
"That's right. She was just some weakling. Her living or dying means nothing," Mary replied.
Jack tightened her fist and clenched her teeth. She really wanted to hit Mary and keep hitting her, but Yune gently grabbed Jack's arm. Although, Jack couldn't feel her arm, she did calm herself down. But she had no desire to work together with somebody who was so cold. Mary was the exact kind of person that she would have no problem killing. The same kind of person as Annie.
Mary walked back towards the school not looking back at Jack.
"You should just let weaklings die," Mary commented as she walked away.
Jack turned away angrily and walked away from the school.
"Where are you going?" Yune asked to both of them.
"I'm heading back home. Then, you won't be seeing me, again," Jack replied.
"Good riddance. I'm going back to class. Maybe, I'll get some ice for the gift you left me," Mary said.
Yune was stuck between the two of them as they walked in separate directions. Her mind focused on Jack's words. "You won't be seeing me, again." Those words made Yune decide to follow Jack. She worried that Jack might do something rash.
As Yune ran towards Jack, Mary looked back at those two with envy and hate.
"I don't need them," Mary said to herself, "Everybody betrays one another, anyways. It's better to be alone."
She walked into the school as raindrops began to fall.

8 132Truck-kun Gets Sacrificed
Driscoll is my own version of a world with a game-like "system" of endless possibilities. MC has his own status, classes, skills, magic, and a living greatswordstaff in a world of monsters, demi-humans of all kinds, and even the supernatural. Sound good? Well, at first for Tru, it was a dream come true(I'm sorry). At least until reality hits him again and again. His quest from God is vague and must be discovered by him along the way. Hopefully, he can figure that out someday but for now, this new world's threats and his potential for power are motivation aplenty. With His new partner by his side, he's ready to embark on his mission of infinite sacrifice, however many lives it takes. The setting is pretty standard for fantasy, with my beginner attempts at writing. Litrpg elements are definitely involved here but It'll calm down as the story progresses and the world's foundation is laid. Judeo/Christian themes and principles take a major role and will be a backbone for much of the story. The fights will paint a picture in the mind rather than just be a bunch of number crunching. While he is meant to be a sacrifice to save all of Driscoll, he needs to gain enough power and influence to be a worthwhile sacrifice, or so he thinks. And so carnage will ensue as he avoids death as best he can while at the same time sacking himself for others. Truck Coon is your average determined, jiu-jitsu practitioner, tax associate that just started his new career. He dies to save kids from a semi-truck(Truck Coon got truck-kun'd, making him Truck-kun) and is transported to another world rather conventionally by God. Upon his arrival, he is quickly confronted with his first conflicts in the wild. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Chapters are currently between 2300 and 4000 words and I try to post weekly, but also deal with severe limitations that cause late posts often. I have zero actual experience with writing stories and only recently started reading web novels in 2020. If you end up hating it, let me know your thoughts in a detailed comment or review, especially if you love it though :D I want to get better and welcome the feedback, so expect changes to be made with any flaws that y'all point out which I don't already have plans to address in future chapters. That being said, keep it constructive in nature, please. I have no Idea how the formatting and such will go, so if you like or dislike some techniques I try, give me that well-appreciated feedback! Thank you for reading.
