《The Dark Star Emperors》Chapter 12: The First Night to Hunt

After they had their dinner and watched some cartoons, the three decided to leave the house in search of Night Demons.
Yune mentioned to the other two that even though they weren't exactly Light Guardians, they didn't have to stop Night Demons from spreading terror to others. And so the three guardians transformed and went out to hunt.
It was mostly quiet, but eventually they sensed a Night Demon nearby. It felt like a chill across their back, but they knew that was doing of the monster. And so, they followed that chill. The colder it got, the closer they were.
They jumped on rooftops and the sides of skyscrapers to get to where they needed to be. Underneath them were dozens of people still going on about their lives.
And when they arrived to the Night Demon, they hid in the shadows. They all saw three other Light Guardians fighting it. It was a large blob with a crown. And it seemed to be defending itself very well.
The three Night Guardians whispered to each other. When they talked to each other, their masks became transparent to themselves only.
Jack whispered, "Looks like somebody got here first. Want to help them?"
"I suppose we could," Mary replied.
"Wait. Don't," Yune said quietly.
Mary and Jack were surprised at this response.
"Really? I thought you were the one who wanted us to hunt these demons," Mary exclaimed.
"I do, but there's something I can't explain. I remember that Light Guardians hunted them, but their was an incentive. Something physical dropped from it's corpse," Yune said.
"I do recall something like that," Jack replied.
Yune thought to herself and noticed that the three Light Guardians were about to win.
"Alright, let's just stab that thing in the back and take the kill," Yune said.
Mary smiled while Jack just nodded in agreement.
And so the three girls went in for the kill.

Reincarnation: First Monster
Names. To most humans and other savory and less savory creatures, they are important–-an integral part of whom they are. To me, however, it is quite trivial, especially so when you have a strange ability to reincarnate. But that's the least of my problems, considering the life-threatening training and tribulations I have to go through as a baby. Did I also mention that my current mother is a dragon?Warning: Can get quite bloody later on and an indifference to killing and sexual content in the future
